An experimental study on the structural behavior of connection types between approach slab and integral abutment has been done for three typical bar connections. Typical hinge style reinforcing bar detail for its connection is preferred in order to accommodate rotation of the approach slab among engineers. However, the straight horizontal bars can be used as connection detail accomodate structural capacity. Total six specimens with three types of rebar detail are tested for direct tensile and bending load. The characteristic structural behaviors are carefully monitored and all the strain gauge data obtained are analyzed. It is shown that the structural performance of all the specimens well exceed its design allowance. Several design suggestions are given based on careful reviews on the experiment.

This paper introduces general concepts of jointless bridges and field construction case of semi-integral bridge with psc girder integrating end-diaphragm. The expansion joints need to satisfy thermal and safety conditions of bridges. General bridges with joints have some problems, which are frequently replacement cycle time from mechanical damage or unstable movement, maintenance cost and more. To solve these problems, Integral Abutment Bridges(IAB) have been applied overseas in the 1930s. In Korea, first IAB was constructed in the early 2000s and precast IAB systems was invented and applied lately. Kyungshin overpass bridge in Incheon is the Semi-IAB constructed, the span length is 2@35=70m and the width is 13.9m. The original plan was to use general joint bridge but design field changed with expectations for advanced economic estimation and maintenance. This changed method of B.I.B bridge construction provided not only workability, construction cost but also safety improvement at the same time.
유리섬유 보강 플래스틱 Re-Bar 다발로 보강된 1방향 콘크리트 슬래브의 휨거동에 관한 실험적 연구

최근 철근의 부식과 관련된 철근콘크리트 바닥판의 내구성에 대한 문제점이 증가되면서 부식에 대한 저항성이 크며, 기존 구조용 재료에 비해 여러 가지 물리적, 역학적 장점을 가진 섬유보강플래스틱을 사용한 보강재의 사용성이 증가되고 있다. 본 연구는 GFRP Re-Bar 다발로 1방향 슬래브의 휩거동에 관한 실험적 연구로서, 국내에서 개발된 GFRP Re-bar의 인장시험을 수행하였으며, GFRP Re-Bar의 보강량을 증가시켜가며 단위 폭을 갖는 1방향 슬래브 실험제를 제작하고 3등분점 재하실험을 수행하였다. 각 실험체에 대한 이론적인 해식은 철근콘크리트 휨부재의 해석 및 설계 방법을 수정, 보완하여 개발된 ACI Committee 440에 따라 수행하였으며, 실험결과와 비교적 잘 일치함을 알 수 있었으며, FRP Re-Bar로 보강된 콘크리트 바닥판의 설계규준을 확립하기 위해서는 강도에 대한 한계상태뿐만 아니라 처짐 등 사용성에 대한 한계상태가 결정되어야 할 것이라 생각된다. In recent years, the investigation on the development of fiber reinforced plastic(FRP) Re-Bar has been greatly increased due to the attractive physical and mechanical properties of FRP. The primary reason of such a tendency is in the fact that it does not ordinarily cause durability problems such as those associated with steel reinforcement corrosion. This study is an experimental investigation on the flexural behavior of one-way concrete slabs, which can be used to construct bridge deck, reinforced with GFRP Re-Bar bundle. The tensile tests of GFRP Re-Bar produced by domestic industry and third point bending tests of one-way slab specimens reinforced with GFRP Re-Bar bundle are performed. For all slab specimens, load-deflection relations are predicted by using the ACI committee 440 and the results are compared with experimental ones. In order to establish the design criteria or guidelines of concrete flexural member reinforced with FRP Re-Bar, it is needed to evaluate the serviceability limit state as well as the strength limit state.
