A lip seal is widely used not only to prevent leakage of fluids from an actuator or a rotating shaft but also to exclude outside substances. Recently, TPU(Thermoplastic Polyurethane), which is one of the sealing materials, has been frequently used due to its excellent mechanical properties and wear resistance. The material constants for finite element analysis through the experiment on stress relaxation are presented. The reaction forces of a shaft as well as the contact pressures of a lip seal under condition before and after stress relaxation using finite element analysis were obtained, The results show that stress relaxation has not a little effect on the performance of a lip seal.
Nitrile Butadiene Rubber의 비선형성에 대한 실험적 연구

산업기계에서 공기압 또는 유압용 액추에이터(actuator)가 넓이 사용되는데 액추에이터의 중요 부품으로 탄성중합체로 만들어진 시일을 사용한다. 우수한 밀봉특성을 요구하는 시일의 재료로 내유성과 내마모성이 비교적 우수한 NBR(nitrile butadiene rubber) 재료가 가장 많이 사용한다. 산업기계의 액추에이터는 적용환경에 따라 낮거나 혹은 높은 온도에서 사용되는데 여러 온도에서 NBR은 그에 따른 특성이 다르게 나타난다. 본 연구에서는 새롭게 만들어지고 있는 재료 중 공기압, 유압용 시일(Seal)재료로 사용하는 Hs70, 80, 90등 3종의 NBR을 각각 -10℃, 20℃, 80℃, 100℃온도에서 소재의 비선형(nonlinear) 특성의 시험과 유한요소해석에 필요한 재료상수를 알아보고 각각의 온도에서 하중 반복조건에 따른 소성변형 경향을 살펴보았다. Hydraulic actuators are used widely for industrial machinery. The seal made from elastomer is used as a core part of the actuator, NBR (nitrile butadiene rubber) materials with high quality of oil resistance and abrasion resistance is used widely, requiring excellent characteristic of sealing. According to applied circumstances, the actuators for industrial machinery are used under different temperature situations. In this study, three different kinds of NBR, which is Hs70, 80, 90 are determined as one of hydraulic materials. According to recent global warming, the number of wild birds is growing. Moreover, the birds are using the transmission tower as a resting place due to the destruction of bird habitats by rapid development and urbanization. Therefore, transmission outages are increasing rapidly, but the methodical study and solutions to this problem are not sufficient. In this study, we will analyze power failure, a bird managemet map and innovative prevention of breakdown in transmission lines.
