A Voltage Bus Conditioner(VBC) may be used to damp the transient bus voltage in a DC Distributed Power System (DC DPS). In this paper, the two kinds of the controls for the VBC are compared with each other. The one of the controls is the sliding mode control and the other is the constant frequency hysteresis control. The performances of sliding mode control and constant frequency hysteresis control are compared. Simulation results by Matlab Simulink represent that the constant frequency hysteresis control alleviates the transient bus voltage more than the sliding mode control.

The three-dimensional internal flow analysis of a torque converter has been widely used to analyze and predict the performance and dynamic characteristics of a torque converter. Recently, many studies on internal flow analysis and flow visualization of a torque converter are being carried out. In this study, the steady state performance of a torque converter such as torque ratio, efficiency and capacity factor is estimated for three-dimension internal flow analysis. Also structure analysis is carried out making us of estimated internal pressure distribution. From the result, there is a possibility of knowing the variable for an optimum design of torque converter for heavy load vehicle.

A Voltage Bus Conditioner(VBC) may be used to mitigate the bus transients in a DC Distributed Power System(DC DPS). A control of the VBC is proposed by using sliding mode control which provides robustness, good dynamic response, and simple implementation. The proposed control approach performs both the operation of mitigating the voltage transients on the bus and keeping the level of energy stored. Simulation results by Matlab Simulink are presented for varifying the proposed control technique.

The effects of the Sn content and microstructure on the tensile properties and the fracture behaviors of spheroidal graphite cast iron were investigated. Addition of 0.05% Sn promoted pearlitic structure of the matrix, which resulted in an enhancement of the yield strength and the fracture toughness of the alloy. Acoustic emission (AE) characterstics of the alloy during mechanical testing were also studied. The voltage range and the shape of AE waves during the deformation stage and the fracture stage varied with the Sn content in the alloy.

The nonlinear behaviors of the load-crack opening displacement in compact tension test were investigated in relation to the microcrack appearances and acoustic e mission wave forms under stepped increased load by changing the chemical compostions, Cu and Sn weight %. In case of Sn weight % is 0.05 and Cu weight % is 0.5, the Baushinger effect did not appear and fracturing load was decreased in the stepped incrpased CT tensile test. As the Cu and Sn weisht %, is increased, the AE was detected from the initial loading in the stepped increased CT tensile test, but the AE was not detected at the initial loading when the Cu and Sn was not applied.
