The conrod bushing, which is the essential part of connecting rod at small end of it , should maintain high strength on pressure and corrosion resistance on emission gas in the engine. Therefore, high strength of bushing itself and wear and friction problem between the piston pin and bushing have been always regarded as a major key factors for enhancement of the automobile engine. In this paper, wear and friction characteristic has been studied experimentally.

This paper presents the numerical results of the contact force and durability with optimized design of lip seal. Using the finite element method based on the Mooney-Rivlin model, the contact force and durability of lip seals were analyzed to illuminate the effect of various shape of lip seal and the shape of lip seal end. And the optimized design is performed through the Taguchi method using FEM tools. The results show that No.5 model is the best model. And the shape of lower part of lip seal, angle of lip end and round of lip end are important factors.

Laser printer has been became one of essential machine for office automation due to its' moderate maintenance cost and fast printing speed. Photosensitive drum, also known as ope drum, is a very critical mechanical component of the laser printer. Quality of printed matter is influenced by few factors such as coating condition of organic photoconductive material, size of toner particle and structural strength of ope drum itself. In this paper, FEM analysis has been performed to consider strength of the drum and to decide proper geometric appearance of the drum.
