Purpose: The prognosis for early gastric cancer (EGC) is favorable, and the 10-year disease-specific survival rate is reported to be around $90\%$. The absolute number of recurred EGC is too small to assess the risk factors, so recruitment of a large number of cases for statistical analysis is very difficult. We carried out this study to analyze the incidence and the patterns of recurrence of EGC and to identify the clinicopathological risk factors for recurrence of EGC. Materials and Methods: The authors retrospectively investigated the follow-up records of 1418 patients who underwent a curative resection for EGC from Jan. 1984 to Dec. 1999 at the Korea Cancer Center Hospital and analyzed them with special reference to cancer recurrence. Results: In this retrospective study of 1418 cases, 43 patients died of a recurrence of gastric cancer, and 105 patients died of unrelated causes. The five-year and the ten-year overall survival rates were $89.6\%$ and $81.7\%$, respectively, while the five-year and the ten-year diseasespecific survival rates were $96.5\%$ and $94.3\%$, respectively. The recurrence patterns of the 45 recurred EGC were hematogenous metastasis (19 cases), lymph node (L/N) metastasis (8 cases), locoregional recurrence (2 cases), peritoneal seeding (3 cases), and combined form (13 cases). The mean time interval to recurrence was 38.6 months, and the number of delayed recurred cases after 5 years was 10 ($22.2\%$). Of the clinicopathologic factors, depth of invasion, L/N metastasis, macroscopic type, lymphatic invasion, and vessel invasion, were significant risk factors in the univariate analysis. However, in the multivariate analysis, only L/N metastasis was an independent prognostic factor. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, L/N metastasis is an independent prognostic factor. Thus, in patients with node-positive disease, adjuvant therapy might be considered, and long-term close follow-up might facilitate early detection and treatment of recurrent disease due to delayed recurrence.
배전용 변압기에서의 고온열화와 열 사이클 열화에 따른 식물유와 광유의 특성 분석

Most transformers use insulating and cooling fluids derived from petroleum crude oil, but mineral oil has some possibility of environmental pollution and fire with explosion. vegetable oil fluids extracted from seed has superior biodegradation and fire-resistant properties including an exceptionally high fire point enhancing fire safety. In this study, it is aimed at the practicality of substituting natural ester dielectric fluid for mineral oil in liquid insulation system of transformers. As a rise in coil winding temperature has a direct influence on transformer life time, it is important to evaluate the temperature rise of coil winding in vegetable oil in comparison with mineral oil. Four transformers for the test are designed with 10KVA, 13.2㎸, one phase unit. The temperature are directly measured in insulating oil of these transformers with the two sorts of natural ester and mineral oil dielectric fluid respectively. Experiment for aging carry out two means. First means remained 120℃ that transformer of mineral oil were operated at 185% load. Second means is that insulating oils of two natural ester and mineral oil were aged by thermal cycles repeating from 30℃ to 120℃. For the heating, Transformers were operated at 185% load. For the cooling, cooling system was operated in the chamber. Samples were analyzed at 42, 63, 93, 143, 190, 240 300cycles. Analysis contents are dielectric strength, total acid value. Mineral oils compared results of first means with results of second means. And compared two sort natural esters respectively with mineral oil in second means.

Effects of heating rate on the temperature profile of the combustion synthesis and on the homogeneity of the reaction product are investigated. Analysis of the temperature profile using a simple mathematical model indicated that a significant fraction of reactants is consumed during the precombustion duration, forming intermetallic compounds at the reactant interface, which was confirmed experimentally. The relationship between the parameters measured from the temperature profile and the degree of conversion of reactants to products are discussed.

Aging of transformer insulating material in natural ester insulating oil is compared to that in conventional transformer oil. Aging of insulating paper and insulating oil have been studied by performing accelerated thermal aging test. Sealed aging test vessels containing cooper, laminated core, Kraft paper and insulating oil(natural oil or mineral oil) were aged at 140℃ for 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000 hours. Insulating oils after aging are investigated with total acid number, breakdown voltage and viscosity. Also, degradation of insulating paper after aging is determined using breakdown voltage and mechanical strength. Accelerated aging studies demonstrate a slower aging rate for natural ester insulating oil compared to the rate for conventional mineral oil.

At first, this article presents a theoretical framework for analysis in the KORUS relations. Special attention is given to three bilateral issues that emerged during Kim Yong Sam and Clinton governments, first of which is the first North Korea nuclear crisis and the ROK-US relationship of conflict and cooperation. The article follows the course of events with a thick description of the process that sparked a conflict between South Korea and the U.S. over each other's North Korean policy. Second issues is bilateral conflict and cooperation on restructuring of ROK-US alliance. There will be a description on why realignment in the bilateral relationship of alliance did not make a major agenda item. Third issue is related to bilateral conflict and cooperation over Korea's financial and currency crisis, which erupted at the end of the Kim Young Sam government. The 1997 economic crisis that led to an IMF bailout will be explained as a catastrophe incurred by transplantation of a U.S-enforced and ROK-embraced neoliberal economic institutions into Korea.

In this paper, the experiments about streaming electrification of mineral and vegetable oils in transformers was performed. The effects that temperature, quantity of Benzotriazole (anti-electrification agent), degree of aging affect streaming electrificaton were investigated. The type of series electrification system was selected to make its analysis easy. Mineral oils represented a maximum value at 40℃ and Vegetable oils did at 60℃. Variations of the streaming electrification by quantity of Benzotriazole were similar regardless of a sort of oils. The effects of aging time of oils were small.
