Numerical simulation is carried out to investigate 3-D complex flow and performance characteristics of double-suction centrifugal pump. Double-section centrifugal pump consisted of six blades impeller and shroud ring. Rotating speed of closed type impeller is 3000 rpm. Finite-volume method with structured mesh and k-ω Shear Stress Transport turbulence model was used to guaranty more accurate prediction of turbulent flow in the pump impeller. Total head, power and overall efficiency were calculated according to the variation of flow rate to obtain performance characteristics of two types of pump. From the results, impeller having smooth curve along the shroud line obtained good performance. Complicated internal flow phenomena through impellers such as flow separation, pressure loss, flow unsteadiness and performance are investigated and discussed.
낮은 Mach수 유동해석을 위한 Preconditioning 가중계수의 의존성에 관한 연구

A dependence of the parameter in precondition method for solving low Mach number flow with incompressible flow nature is investigate. The present method employs a finite-difference method applied Roe's flux difference splitting approximation with the MUSCL-TVD scheme and high order Runge-Kutta method. From the computational results of 2-D internal flows through a backward-facing step duct an appropriate value of the parameter is suggested. High accuracy and stable computational results are obtained for the flow with low Mach number at β of 50 in the range of Mach number less than 0.3.

Recently, small hydropower attracts attention because of its clean, renewable and abundant energy resources to develop. Therefore, a cross-flow hydraulic turbine is proposed for small hydropower development in this study. The turbine's simple structure and high possibility of applying to the sites of relatively low effective head and large flow rate can be advantages for the introduction of the small hydropower development. The purpose of this study is not only to investigate the effects of air layer in the turbine chamber on the performance and internal flow of the cross-flow turbine, but also to suggest a newly developed air supply method. CFD analysis for the performance and internal flow of the turbine is conducted by an unsteady state calculation using a two-phase flow model in order to embody the air layer effect on the turbine performance effectively. The result shows that air layer effect on the performance of the turbine is considerable. The air layer located in the turbine runner passage plays the role of preventing a shock loss in the runner axis and suppressing a recirculation flow in the runner. The location of air suction hole on the chamber wall is very important factor for the performance improvement. Moreover, the ratio between air from suction pipe and water from turbine inlet is also significant factor of the turbine performance.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to assess the result of conservative treatment in displaced radial head fracture. Materials and Methods: We analyzed 15 cases of displaced radial head fracture who were treated conservatively from April 1992 to May 2002. Follow-up period was more than 1 year. They were all males and the average age of patients was 20.2($11{\sim}24$) years. The average follow-up period was 13.4($12{\sim}15$) months. They were able to do active pronation and supination more than 70 degrees initially, who were applied long arm splint less than 1 week. The functional rating index modified after B.F. Morrey and no further displacement and union state of fragment in simple X-ray were used in follow-up assessment. Results: On the basis of the functional rating index modified after B.F. Morrey that included elements of pain, motion, strength, and stability, the results were 8 excellent, 7 good in patients who were treated conservatively, who had union and no further displacement of fragment in follow-up. Conclusion: We conclude that if they are able to do active pronation and supination more than 70 degrees initially, we take them to do early range of motion exercise after subsiding swelling, which can restrict limitation of range of motion exercise and return to the living early. 목적: 전위된 요골두 골절 환자에 있어 보존적 치료 후의 결과를 확인하고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법: 1992년 4월부터 2002년 5월까지 본원에서 보존적 치료 받은 전위된 요골두 골절 환자 중 1년 이상 추시가 가능한 15명의 환자를 대상으로 하였다. 보존적 치료를 받은 15명 모두 남자였으며 평균 연령은 20.2($11{\sim}24$)세였으며 평균 추시기간은 13.4($12{\sim}15$)개월이었다. 그리고 내원 당시에 능동적 회내전 및 회외전이 70도 이상 가능한 환자를 대상으로 하였으며 모든 환자에서 일주일 정도의 장상지 석고 부목 고정술 후 조기 주관절 운동을 시행 하였다. 치료 결과는 변형된 Morrey 등의 기능적 평가와 방사선적 평가로 더 이상의 골편 전위 유무와 유합 소견으로 평가 하였다. 결과: 보존적 치료를 시행한 전위된 요골두 골절 환자 15명 중 변형된 Morrey 등의 기능적 평가에서 우수 8명, 양호 7명의 결과를 보였으며, 조기 주관절 운동을 시행하더라도 골편의 더 이상의 전위나 불유합 소견은 보이지 않았다. 결론: 전위된 요골두 골절 치료시 내원 당시에 회내전 및 회외전의 정도를 확인하고 능동적으로 70도 이상의 소견이 보이는 환자에 대해 부종이 감소된 이후에 조기 주관절 운동을 시킴으로써 관절 운동 범위의 제한을 막을 수 있고 일상 생활으로 복귀가 빨라 질 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
