Water solubility of conjugated polymers may offer many applications. Potential applications of water-soluble conjugated polymers include the polymer light-emitting diode and new materials for nano and micro hollow-capsules, and bio- or chemo-sensors. We synthesized neutral polyfluorenes containing bromo-alkyl groups by the palladium catalyzed Suzuki coupling reaction. Bromo-alkyl side groups in neutral polyfluorenes were quaternized by tri-methyl amine solution. The electrochemical and optical properties of water-soluble conjugated polymers are discussed. This novel synthesized water-soluble conjugated polymers were used as a interfacial dipole layer between active layer and metal cathode in polymer solar cell for enhancement of open-circuit voltage (Voc), which is one of the most critical factors in determining device characteristics. We also investigated the device performance of polymer solar cell with different metal cathode such as Al, Ag, Au and Cu. In polymer solar cell, novel cationic water-soluble conjugated polymers were inserted between active layer and high-work function cathode (Al, Ag, Au and Cu).

Denting of steam generator (SG) tube is defined as the reduction in tube diameter due to the stresses exerted by the corrosion products formed on the outer diameter surface. This phenomenon is mostly observed in the crevices between SG tube and the top-of tubesheet or tube support plate. Despite the replacement of SG tube with Alloy 690, which has better corrosion resistance than Alloy 600, the denting of SG tube still remains a potential problem that could decrease the SG integrity. Deformation of SG tube by denting phenomenon can affect the surface properties and microstructure of SG tube. In this study, the effects of plastic deformation on surface properties and microstructure of Alloy 690 thermally treated (TT) tube was investigated by using the various analysis techniques. The plastic deformation of Alloy 690 increased the surface roughness and area. Many surface defects such as ripped surface and micro-cracks were observed on the deformed Alloy 690TT specimen. Based on the electron backscatter diffraction analysis, the dislocation density of deformed SG tube increased compared to non-deformed SG tube. In addition, the effects of changes in surface properties and microstructure of SG tube on general corrosion behavior were discussed.
핵연료 피복관 부식생성물 부착에 관한 Ni/Fe 이온 농도비의 영향

The objectives of this study are to investigate the effect of the concentration ratios of Ni and Fe ions on crud deposition onto the fuel cladding surface in the simulated primary environments of a pressurized water reactor. Crud deposition tests were conducted in the Ni and Fe concentration ratios of 20:20 ppm, 39:1 ppm and 1:39 ppm at 325℃ for 14 days. In the case of the same Ni and Fe ion ratio (20:20), nickel ferrite with a polyhedral shape was formed. Nickel oxide deposits with a needle shape were formed in the condition of high Ni to Fe ion ratio (39: I), While polyhedral iron oxide and needle-like nickel oxide formed in the condition of low Ni to Fe ion ratio (1:39). The amount of deposits increased, when Fe oxides were formed. This indicates that Fe rich oxides stimulated Ni oxide deposition.

The purpose of this work is to investigate the effect of dissolved hydrogen concentration on crud deposition onto the fuel cladding surface in the simulated primary environments of a pressurized water reactor. Crud deposition tests were conducted in the dissolved hydrogen concentration range of 5~70 cc/kg at 325℃ for 14 days. Needle-shaped NiO deposits were formed in the hydrogen range of 5~25 cc/kg, while polygonal nickel ferrite deposits were observed at a hydrogen concentration above 35 cc/kg. However, the dissolved hydrogen content seems to have little effect on the amount of crud deposits.
Alloy 690 TT 전열관의 결함 검출능 향상을 위한 MRPC Noise 신호기준에 대한 연구

To investigate the influence of MRPC background noise on crack inspectability, the artificial cracks with different depth were produced on three Alloy 690 TT steam generator tube with different background noise using laser. MRPC noise and crack signal were analyzed using +point probe. As a result, it is possible to detect the cracks with the depth larger than 40% for high background noise, while to detect the cracks less than 30% for low background noise. Therefore, it is recommended that MRPC noise value would be at least 0.05 V to improve the crack detectability.

The temporoparietal fascia is an ideal tissue source as an arterialized transposition flap as well as for free transfer to distant sites where ultrathin coverage is either desirable or mandatory. Microvascular transfer is facilitated by means of its large vessels, ample pedicle and ability to be grafted on either side. It cam be transfered alone as an isolated tissue, or it can simultaneously transport periosteum and bone from below or hair-bearing skin from above, and its donor scar is hidden in the hair. The flap is useful in covering exposed bone and tendon without adding unwanted bulk, in providing thin flap coverage in facial reconstruction, in covering vital structures, in providing neovascularity, and in establishing gliding-tendon mechanism. The authors have experienced reconstruction of the deformities of the auricle, face, and hand with this flap. Technique and clinical application are discussed in detail.
HPLC를 이용한 농약코빈(thiophanate-methyl)의 측정법에 대한 연구

The best conditions were described for the measurements of kobin, which was a group of carbamate pesticide, by HPLC. The following results were obtained. 1. The eluates were detected with Dupont model 850 UV detector at 254nm. 2. Analyses were performed using Dupont model 8800, Bondapak C18 ODS column, linear gradient was increased from 10% to 100% with methanol-0.04% acetic acid at a flow rate of 1.5㎖/ min., 35℃ and a chart speed of 0.5㎖/min. 3. The relationships between the concentration and absorbance of pesticide kobin were linear 10 to 100ppm. 4. Deproteinization could be used satisfactorily in all of Folin-Wu, trichloroacetic acid and perchloric acid, and the recovery rate was found to 100% for perchloric acid and Folin-Wu except TCA.
하악골에 발생한 Desmoplastic Fibroma의 치험례 : -A Case Report-

Desmoplastic fibroma is a rare, benign, fibroblastic intraosseous tumor originating in connective tissue. A case in a 21 year-old female is described. A tumor, situated between the root of the right mandibular incisor(medial) and condylar neck. Morphologically, the characteristics of the tumor conformed well to those of a desmoplastic fibroma. The surgical procedures of the mandibular reconstruction by using of a vascularized iliac bone graft and the differential diagnosis of the desmoplastic fibroma with reference to the histopathological and ultrastructural appearance of the tumor are discussed.

Ear lobe cleft can be divided into congenital and traumatic type. Congenital type can be classified according to embriology ; Superior, inferior, and mixed type. Traumatic earlobe cleft is usually the result of heavy ear rings having progressively stretched the lobule. We experienced 3 cases of congenital ear lobe cleft and managed them by modified Joseph method. Passow-Claus method and retroauricular transposition flap with conchal cartilage graft. The operative method was selected by amount of skin and soft tissue of the affected lobule. The result was satisfactory without complications.
