        하천에서 중금속 아연(Zn) 유입이 부착규조의 종조성과 형태 변이에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study is to understand the changes on species composition of the epilithic diatoms and the appearance of morphological abnormalities in the upper region of the Nakdong River where heavy metal inflow is observed. The samples were collected once a week for a month of September 2016 from selecting 7 sampling stations. The heavy metals of cadmium (Cd) and arsenic (As) were not detected during the survey period, but zinc (Zn) was detected in st.4 - st.6 with the range of $0.015{\sim}0.188mg\;L^{-1}$. Metal sensitive species such as Achnanthes convergens, Cocconeis placentula, Cocconeis placentula var. euglypta, Cocconeis placentula var. lineata showed high dominance in st.1 - st.3, st.7. However, metal tolerant species such as Nitzschia palea, Achnanthes minutissima showed high dominance in st.4 - st.6. It is concluded that heavy metal inflow directly affects the changes in species composition of epilithic diatoms. As a result of CCA, the characteristics of the sampling sites were divided into 3 groups. Group 1 was represented the non-detected Zn sites with C. placentula, C. placentula var. euglypta, C. placentula var. lineata. Group 2 was showed the detected Zn sites with Navicula minima and Nitzschia palea. Group 3 was included st.3 - st.7 on 4th week that was stabilized the community structure. Total 8 taxa of abnormal frustules observed. This occurrence of abnormal frustules reflected the temporal and quantitative indicators of heavy metal pollution, in particular, it was confirmed that genus Fragilaria, which has a high abnormality according to heavy metal pollution, can be used as an indicator species.

        Queer Eye for K-Pop Fandom: Popular Culture, Cross-gender Performance, and Queer Desire in South Korean Cosplay of K-pop Stars

        This paper challenges previous K-pop studies on fandom in South Korea to broaden their focus beyond straight-identified fans to include queer fans. Although previous studies have focused on male K-pop stars as the object of heterosexual desire, the phenomenon of “fan cosplay,” or “fancos” for short, demonstrates that these male stars also serve as a means for cross-gender identification for female fans. This paper explores K-pop’s role as a space for its young female fans to explore gender and sexual identity, as well as its influence on local queer subculture in terms of gendered styling, gendered pairing, and queer terminology. Furthermore, an examination of the historical changes in the popularity of fancos reveals the transformation in the recognition of homosexuality and its backlash in Korea as well as the strategies of the queer subculture to focus on invisibility and in-group differentiation. Therefore, a queer perspective on K-pop studies includes domestic queer fans in the study of K-pop, complicates the heteronormative assumptions of fandom studies, and the relationship between commercial media and desire and sheds light on sexual politics in South Korea.

        발달과 행태 특성에 기반한 어린이 도서관 공간 계획에 관한 연구

        (Background and Purposes) This study sheds light on the relationship between space and the developmental and behavioral features of children. More specifically, it aims to articulate how children`s behaviors and child development can be applied in designing spaces. Given that the need for physical environments targeting children (in spatial design) has intensified, this research suggests directions for the design of children`s libraries. It accomplishes this by clearly understanding and analyzing how to design a “children`s library” exclusively tailored to young visitors. (Method) The theoretical background of child development and behavior is explored first through a comprehensive literature review. Then, how child development and behavior relate to space requirements is investigated. Several library design factors are used as analytical tools to examine the usefulness of those factors. A case study conducted in Korea (“Miraculous Library”) is also discussed. (Results) When designing a children`s library, relating child development and behavioral features with design factors is significant. Based on these relations, more varied and detailed space plans should be considered.

        중금속 오염에 따른 부착규조 (Ulnaria ulna)의 성장 및 형태 변화

        The abnomal responseses on growth and morphology of attached diatoms by various heavy metals were studied. Ulnaria ulna (Nitzsch) Compere was employed as experimental species and exposed to the five heavy metals such as Cu, Zn, Pb, Cd, and As with four concentrations (0, 0.01, 0.1, and 2 mg L<sup>-1</sup>), respectively. The samples of Ulnaria ulna were examined on the changes of cell growth and teratological forms on the 7th, 14th, 21th, and 28th day, respectively, after exposure to the heavy metals. The samples exposed to the highest concentration, 2.0 mg L<sup>-1</sup>, of all the heavy metals showed the most obvious decreases of growth. The samples exposed to Cd (μ=0.049day<sup>-1</sup>) and As (μ =0.048day<sup>-1</sup>) showed the highest decreasing rate of growth (p=0.021(Cd), p=0.002(As)) and the highest morphological changes of diatom valves were also samples exposed to Cd (10.41%) and As (10.13%) (p=0.009 (Cd), p=0.005(As)). In contrast, Pb induced the lowest decreasing rate (μ=0.090 day<sup>-1</sup>) and the least change in valve morphology (3.31%). The Cd and As showed relatively stronger effects on growth rates compared to Cu, Zn, and Pb. For the percentage of emergence of morphological species by the type, the highest percentage were observed in sampled exposed to type 1 (43.4%) and followed by type 2 (29.1%). The type 2 and 4 were most abundant in samples exposed to Zn and Pb while the type 3 was most abundant in Cd and As. The Cu induced only type 1, suggesting that the frequency of emergence of each type varied among hevay metals. This research suggests that the degrees of abnomal changes on growth rate and valve morphology of Ulnaria ulna can be used as a bioindicater species for heavy metal contamination in freshwater.

        낙동강의 식물플랑크톤 우점종의 분포특성 및 수온과의 상관성

        본 연구에서는 낙동강의 상주보에서부터 합천창녕보까지의 8개에 보에 대해 2011년부터 2013년 까지의 수온, 적산일사량, 영양염 농도, 식물플랑크톤 군집분포, 기타 수질조사 결과를 이용하여 식물플랑크톤 우점종의 천이특성과 수온과의 상관성, 우점종 상호 간의 영향 등에 대해 고찰하였다. 8개 보 단위의 별 우점종 평가에 있어 총 25개 종이 우점하고 있었다. 봄철에 대발생하는 Stephanodiscus sp.는 우점빈도가 39.4%로서 가장 높았으며 현존량 우점율은 58.6%였다. 여름철에 대발생하는 Microcystis sp.의 우점빈도는 8.5%였고 현존량 우점율은 36.6%였다. 8개 조사지점의 수온차이는 평균 1.83℃로서 지점별 차이는 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 분석 대상 우점종 중 수온과 음의 상관성을 보인 것은 Stephanodiscus sp. 1개 종(r=-0.26, p<0.01)이었으며 나머지 7개 종은 양의 상관성이 유의하게 나타냈다(r=0.08~0.28). Stephanodiscus sp.는 2∼18℃의 수온범위에서 높은 개체밀도를 보였고 2℃ 이하에서는 2,000cells ml-1 이하의 적은 개체밀도를 보였다. Stephanodiscus sp.의 봄철 수화현상 다음에 우점하는 종은 Aulacoseira granulata, Fragilaria crotonensis, Cyclotella sp. 등이었으며, Microcystis sp.는 Stephanodiscus sp.의 개체밀도가 감소되는 18℃ 정도에서 개체수 증가속도가 높아졌으며, 수온이 25℃ 이상이 되면 10,000cells mL-1를 초과하기 시작하고 28℃ 이상에서부터 현저하게 증가하여 수화현상이 나타났다. 낙동강에서 광범위한 수온 영역에 적응하고 있는 종은 Cyclotella sp., Aulacoseira granulata, Fragilaria crotonensis 등이었다. 적산일사량과 유의한 상관성을 보인 것은 Aulacoseira granulata 1개 종이었다. Stephanodiscus sp.는 분석대상 우점종 중에 Aulacoseira granulata 및 Aphanizomenon flos-aquae 종과의 상관계수가 각각 -0.12 및 -0.09로서(p<0.05) 음의 상관성이 유의하게 나타났다. Stephanodiscus sp.는 동물성플랑크톤의 요각류 (r=-0.11, p<0.01), 지각류 (r=-0.09, p<0.05) 등과 음이 상관성이 유의하게 나타났다. 따라서 Stephanodiscus sp.는 낙동강에서 동물성플랑크톤의 중요한 섭식원이 되고 있을 것으로 추정된다. 여름철 최대 우점종인 Microcystis sp.는 음의 상관성을 나타낸 다른 우점종은 없었다. The construction of eight large weirs in the Nakdong River, Korea, caused a decrease in the water flow velocity and several physical changes to the water environment. Here, changes in phyto- and zooplankton communities and water quality in the areas near the eight weirs were investigated from 2011 to 2013, and relationships between phytoplankton abundances and environmental factors were analyzed. Special emphasis was given to the succession patterns in algal abundance based on temperature fluctuations. At the eight weirs, 24 dominant species were found. The most abundant phytoplankton species was Stephanodiscus sp. (39.4% of dominant frequency). Cyanobacteria of the genus Microcystis dominated during the summer, with an dominant frequency of 8.5% and cell abundance ratio of 36.6%. Significant correlations were observed between temperature and abundance of eight of the main dominant species; seven species showed positive correlations with temperature. Stephanodiscus sp., however, showed a negative correlation with temperature (r=-0.26, p<0.01). In addition, this species showed a significant negative correlation with the dominant algal species-Aulacoseira granulata and Aphanizomenon flos-aquae, with the zooplankton Copepoda and with Cladocera. On the contrary, seven other dominant species of algae showed significant positive correlations with zooplankton. Thus, we showed that the seasonal succession of plankton communities in the Nakdong River was related to the water temperature changes.

        영천호에서 남조류 발생과 환경요인의 관련성 연구

        The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics and correlations of the Yeongcheon Lake in order to reduce the occurrence of harmful cyanobacteria. In this study, we investigated the water quality and phytoplankton of thelake from May to November in 2017. Correlation and data mining analyseswere performed to analyze the relationship between the two factors. The water temperature was lowest at the point where the Yeongcheon Lake inflow occurs at Imha Lake. It was highest at the point where the outflow occurs to Angye Lake. The pH was also highest at the outflow point, but in the case of DO, it was highest at the midpoint between the inflow and outflow. The main cyanobacteria that emerged during the study period were Oscillatorialimosa, Microcysti saeruginosa and Aphanizomenon flos-aquae. As a result of correlation analysis, the water temperature, inflow, COD loading, TOC loading at the inflow point of the Yeongcheon Lake were the items that were related to the harmful cyanobacteria. The data mining analysis indicated that the TP loading and harmful cyanobacteria in the inflow point of the Yeongcheon Lake were influential on the detrimental cyanobacteria in the Yeongcheon Lake outflow point. When the TP loading was less than 39.0 kg/day at the inflow site, it wasexpected that the amount of harmful cyanobacteria could be maintained below 10,000 cells/mL.

        환경조건에 따른 Aphanizomenon flos-aquae (Cyanophyceae) 균주의 성장 반응 및 독소 생성

        The purpose of this study is to investigate growth response and toxigenicity under various temperature and nutritional conditions, in order to understand the physioecological characteristics of Aphanizomenon flos-aquae, which is a bloom-forming cyanobacterium in the Nakdong River. The strain was inoculated into media under combinations of four temperatures (4, 12, 21, $30^{\circ}C$) and three nutrients (modified CB medium, P-depleted CB medium, N-depleted CB medium) for 28 days. The algae-inhibition tests were performed to assess the potential allelopathic effects of the strains' filtrates on the growth of four algae strains (Microcystis aeruginosa, Aulacoseria ambigua f. spiralis, Aphanizomenon flos-aquae, Scenedesmus obliquus). Toxin production of a strain was measured by Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSolbent Assay (ELISA). The optimal growth temperature (Topt) of strains was $19.9^{\circ}C$ ($18.3-21.2^{\circ}C$), and the temperature range for growth was from $-0.3^{\circ}C$ to $34.3^{\circ}C$. Specific growth rate (${\mu}$) in modified CB medium varied from 0.10 to $0.16day^{-1}$, and the maximum growth rate (${\mu}_{max}$) was $0.17day^{-1}$. Although growth curves under N-existed and N-depleted conditions were almost the same, growth under N-depleted condition was relatively slowed (${\mu}=0.09$ to $0.14day^{-1}$), with a decreased maximum cell density. However, growth under the P-depleted condition was restricted for all temperatures, Two stains of Aphanizomenon flos-aquae were confirmed as not producing toxins, because saxitoxin and cylindrospermopsin were not detected by ELISA. The exudates or filtrates from the Aphanizomenon flos-aquae (DGUC003) resulted in significant inhibition of algal growth on the Aulacoseira ambigua f. spiralis (DGUD001) and Aphanizomenon flos-aquae (DGUC001) (p < 0.01).

        Morphology and taxonomy of the Aphanizomenon spp. (Cyanophyceae) and related species in the Nakdong River, South Korea

        Background: The purpose of this study is to describe the morphological characteristics of the Aphanizomenon spp. and related species from the natural samples collected in the Nakdong River of South Korea. Results: Morphological characteristics in the four species classified into the genera Aphanizomenon Morren ex Bornet et Flahault 1888 and Cuspidothrix Rajaniemi et al. 2005 were observed by light microscopy. The following four taxa were identified: Aphanizomenon flos-aquae Ralfs ex Bornet et Flahault, Aphanizomenon klebahnii Elenkin ex Pechar, Aphanizomenon skujae Komárková-Legnerová et Cronberg, and Cuspidothrix issatschenkoi (Usačev) Rajaniemi et al. Aph. flos-aquae and Aph. klebahnii always formed in fascicles; the others only occurred in solitary. Aph. flos-aquae was similar to Aph. klebahnii, whereas these species differed from each other by the size and shape of fascicles, which was macroscopic in Aph. flos-aquae and microscopic in the Aph. klebahnii. One of their characteristics was that trichomes are easily disintegrating during microscopic examination. C. issatschenkoi could be clearly distinguished from other species by hair-shaped terminal cell. Its terminal cell was almost hyaline and markedly pointed. Young populations of the species without heterocytes run a risk of a misidentification. Aph. skujae was characterized by akinete. Morphological variability of akinetes from natural samples collected in the Nakdong River was rather smaller than those reported by previous study. Conclusions: C. issatschenkoi are described for the first time in the Nakdong River. In addition, Aph. klebahnii and Aph. skujae are new to South Korea.

        낙동강 상류 수역에서 남조류 발생과 천이패턴 - Aphanizomenon 속을 중심으로 -

        This study investigated the occurrences and succession patterns of harmful cyanobacteria, as well as environmental factors, during a 3-year period (September 2012 to August 2015) in the upper region of the Nakdong River around Sangju weir. A total of 27 cyanobacterial taxa were observed in this study, and classified into 26 species and 1 variety belonging to 11 genera, 5 families, and 3 orders. Cell density ranged from 24 to 42,001 cells/ml, with a geometric mean of 33 cells/ml, during the survey period. The dominant orders differed depending on the survey year; order Oscillatoriales in 2013, Chroococcales in 2014 and Nostocales in 2015. An Aphanizomenon bloom occurred in June 2015 at which time the highest cell density of 36,873 cells/ml was detected in the upper region of the Nakdong River, whereas the Aphanizomenon spp. Cell density had been low prior to that time (190–1,704 cells/ml). An Aphanizomenon bloom also occurred at around the same time downstream in the Young River, a major inflow branch of the Nakdong River. The Aphanizomenon cell density along the Nakdong River increased markedly after joining of the Young River, indicating that the Aphanizomenon bloom in the Young River caused a bloom in the Nakdong River. Meteorological and environmental parameters, such as very low precipitation, higher water temperature, pH, and TP concentration, and lower TN/TP ratio, in May and June of 2015 than in 2013 and 2014 exerted marked effects on the Aphanizomenon bloom in June 2015 in the Young River.
