강수량예측에서 편이보정방법과 GCM 선택에 대한 불확실성 비교

Many climate studies have used the general circulation models (GCMs) for climate change, which can be currently available more than sixty GCMs as part of the Assessment Report (AR5). There are several types of uncertainty in climate studies using GCMs. Various studies are currently being conducted to reduce the uncertainty associated with GCMs, and the bias correction method used to reduce the difference between the simulated and the observed rainfall. Therefore, this study mainly considered climate change scenarios from nine GCMs, and then quantile mapping methods were applied to correct biases in climate change scenarios for each station during the historical period (1970-2005). Moreover, the monthly rainfall for the future period (2011-2100) is obtained from the RCP 4.5 scenario. Based on the bias-corrected rainfall, the standard deviation and the inter-quartile range (IQR) from the first to third quartiles were estimated. For 2071-2100, the uncertainty for the selection of GCMs is larger than that for the selection of bias correction methods and vice versa for 2011-2040. Therefore, this study showed that the selection of GCMs and the bias correction methods can affect the result for the future climate projection.

본 연구는 LNG 액화공정의 효율적인 통합운영을 위한 유지보수 관리시스템 제안에 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 HYSYS를 이용한 LNG 공정모사 및 PCA 기법을 이용한 냉각기 이상진단을 실시하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 기존의 유지보수 관리 체계에 데이터 마이닝 기법을 이용한 공정 이상진단을 통합한 보다 더 효율적이고 안정화된 시스템을 제안하였다.
제5장 : 동아시아 인권의 보편성과 상대성: 경험적 분석의 기초

인권이 무엇인가라는 존재론적 질문보다 인권을 어떻게 관찰할 수 있을 것인가라는 인식론적이고 방법론적인 질문을 탐구한다. 그동안 인권이 무엇이며 어떻게 보호할 것인가라는 질문, 그리고 인권의 보편성에 대한 비판은 보편적 세계인권선언이 제정되면서부터 진행되어 왔다. 이 연구는 동아시아 국가들이 국제인권법을 수용하는 방식과 각국별 인권현황을 비교함으로써 동아시아 국가들이 인권문제와 관련하여 대내적 동질성과 대외적 이질성을 유지하고 있는지 경험적 분석을 시도하고 있다. 분석결과를 통해 동아시아 국가들이 국제인권법을 수용하는 방식이 다른 지역의 국가들과 마찬가지로 국가 이익을 우선적으로 고려한다는 사실과, 각국의 인권보호의 수준은 민주주의 발전의 정도와 상관관계가 있음을 알 수 있다. 이는 동아시아 인권의 특수성을 강조하는 주장들과 달리, 경험적 분석의 결과는 동아시아 국가들이 다른 지역의 국가들과 마찬가지로 인권을 정치적 의제로 인식하고 활용하고 있음을 의미한다고 할 수 있다. This study aims to answer the question of how human rights issues can be empirically analyzed with regard to controversies between universalism and relativism. Since the Universal Declaration of Hu-man Rights were ρroposed, politicians, scholars, and journalists have criticized the assumption of the universality of human rights, arguing that human rights developed in the Western Europe cannot be univer-sally applicable to the other regions without sacrificing the respect of cultural diversity. This study explores the hypothesis that East Asian countries have common attitudes toward recognizing international hu-man rights distinguishable from those of other countries. The empirical analysis demonstrates that East Asian countries put more emphasis on national interests than on the human rights protection and that the level of human rights protection is positively associated with the level of democracy in each country over time. In contrast to the expectation of relativism, the findings imply that East Asian countries have very differ-ent interests in recognizing international human rights norms and each country politicizes to varying degrees human rights issues like other countries in the world.

Feasibility of a plasma burner for low NOx combustion is studied. A rotating arc generator is adopted to generate a rotating arc and a methane premixed flame simultaneously. The electrical energy consumed in the rotating arc generator is less than few % of the heat energy released from the methane flame. Test results show that the flammability limit can be significantly extended with the aids of the rotating arc. Detailed analysis on the emissions from the reactor, NOx, CO and hydrocarbons, are conducted, which suggest that technique of combustion assisted by rotating arc could be applied to low NOx combustion.

Methane reforming process using plasma/combustion phenomena has been investigated. The tested atmospheric pressure plasma generation techniques are corona discharge, DBD (Dielectric Barrier Discharge), spark, micro hollow-cathode, microwave torch plasma, and gliding arc. In these comparison tests, hydrogen is produced through direct methane decomposition process (CH₄→C+2H₂). The test results showed that none of the above plasma techniques is economically feasible because of the large operating power consumption. The power consumption, however, can be significantly decreased when hydrogen is produced by the partial oxidation process (CH₄+1/2 O₂→CO+2H₂). In the test of partial oxidation process, one of the most critical factors is O₂/C ratio. As O₂/C ratio increases up to 1, both methane conversion rate and hydrogen yield increase, which results in lower specific power consumption Detailed analysis showed that both plasma chemistry and heat released by combustion contribute to such effective syngas production process.
