Recently, it is really concerned about corrosion and aging of reinforced concrete bridges. Corrosional steel reinforcing in concrete affects not only safety of bridges structure but also bending strength of reinforced concrete's member. Rate of corrosion, characteristic of bending strength, and economical evaluation aren't clear in reinforced concrete, considering performance evaluation. The purpose of study is as follows. It studies about ability of resistance's strength and cost of life cycle according to reduction of steel reinforcing's corrosion. Moreover, it shows calculating formula of bending strength with corrosion of current rate and exactly evaluates about the rest life at corrosional reinforced concrete bridges. 최근의 철근콘크리트 교량의 부식과 노후화에 대한 관심이 많다. 콘크리트 안의 부식되어진 철근은 교량구조의 안전뿐만 아니라 철근콘크리트 부재의 휨강도에도 영향을 준다. 기존의 성능평가를 고려한 철근콘크리트속의 부식율 및 휨강도 특성 경제성 분석은 명확하지 많았다. 본 연구의 목적은 철근의 부식감소에 따라서 철근콘크리트 교량의 저항강도기능과 생애주기비용을 연구하고자 한다 따라서 현재의 부식 및 휨강도 산출공식을 제시하고 부식된 철근 콘크리트 교량의 잔여수명을 정확히 평가하고자 한다.

Current Bridge foundation design is based on Working Stress Design(WSD), but Load Factor Based on Optimum Reliability(LFBOR) design method is more rational than the WSD. For this reason, this study proposes a reliability based design criteria for the bridge foundation, which is most common type of bridge foundation(Shallow, Pile and Caission), and also proposes the theoretical basis of nominal safety factors of stability analysis by introducing the reliability theory. The limit state equations of stability analysis of bridge foundation and the uncertainty measuring algorithms of each equation are also derived by Cornell's MFOSM(Mean First Order 2nd Moment Methods)using the stability analysis fourmula Highway Bridge Design Codes.

We developed differentual governing equations for non-uniform piles, the back ground is on Novak's theory for uniform piles. The equations are integrated numerically by use of an efficient two-step iterative scheme. In the proposed model, the base of the mathematical formulations employed is on the conventional idealization of circular elastic pile which is embedded in a semi-infinite, isotropic and elastic soil medium. According to expectation, for areas of practical applications, the model would play a part of an effective tool to study the influence of geometry and non-uniformity of the resonant frequency and amplitude of the pile ; factors that have an important point in the dynamic design of piles. It is demonstrated by analysing the response of tapered and two-component piles that the model would be applicable to the practices, especiallay for the case of end-bearing and floating conditions. From the study, we showed that the results are consistent with those of previously reports by using more complex models on the basis of the finite-element or finite difference techniques. With analysing the case of a uniform pile about availability of closed-form solutions, it is demonstrated that the model comes to be proved.

This study is directed to propose a stability and Design Criteria for Bridge Caisson For Bridge Caisson foundations, with Could possibly replace the traditionals W.S.D provsions of the Current Code, based on the LFBOR (Load Factors Base on Reliability). The optimum reliability indices(Verticial bearing Capacity: β_opt=3.19, Lateral bearing Capacity: β_opt=3.15(ordinary), β_opt=2.93(earthquake), Shearing resistance Capacity: β=2.87) are Selected as optimal Values Considering our practice base on the Calibration with the current Bridge Caisson foundation design Safety provisions, Load and Resistance Factors are measure by using the proposed uncertainties and selected optimum reliability indies. Furthermore, a set of nominal safety factors are proposed for the U.S.D design provisions

Bovine viral diarrhea (BVD) is one of the problematic wasting diseases in cattle leading to huge economic losses. This study was conducted to investigate the prevalence of BVD including transient and persistent infection from cattle farms in Gyeongsangnam-do. A total of 2,667 blood samples from 24 farms were collected and the sera were subjected to ELISA to detect BVD virus (BVDV) antigen, E<sup>rns</sup>. 5' untranslated region (5'-UTR) of BVDV-positive samples was sequenced to identify the genotype, and compared with isolates previously reported elsewhere. There were fourteen BVDV-positive calves from 2,667 samples (positive rate: 0.52%) from first ELISA testing followed by eight persistently infected out of eleven BVDV-positive samples (72.73%) in secondary ELISA that was conducted in at least four weeks suggesting the circulation of BVDV in the area. Sequencing analysis exhibited that thirteen BVDV-positive samples were identified as BVDV-1b and one sample was BVDV-2a. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that the BVDV-1b-positive samples showed the highest homology in nucleotide sequence to Korean isolates collected from Sancheong, Gyeongsangnam-do, while the BVDV-2a-positive sample (21GN7) was more similar to reference strains collected outside South Korea. This study will provide the recent fundamental data on BVD prevalence in Gyeongsangnam-do to be referred in developing strategies to prevent BVDV in South Korea.
