키토산-Ag(I)-CO 착체를 이용한 촉진수송막의 제조 및 CO/N2 분리특성

Carbon monoxide (CO) is an important raw material in chemical industries, and typically occurs in mixed gases such as CO/N2. Despite the advantages of membrane technology, CO/N2 separation by membrane has rarely been studied because CO and N2 have similar kinetic diameters and solubility. In this work, a chitosan-based composite membrane containing Ag ions was prepared for the selective separation of CO from N2. The coordinative interaction of Ag ions with the polar groups of the chitosan was confirmed by FT-IR, DSC, and XPS. The reversible behavior between CO and chitosan containing Ag ions was investigated using the pressure decay method, and it demonstrated that CO and Ag ion-containing chitosan can form a reversible π-complex. Through this reversible interaction, chitosan containing Ag ions showed higher CO permeability than N2 and high CO/N2 selectivity (α => 15~30) via the facilitated transport mechanism.
