        According to the maturity of information-oriented conditions, for instance, building super-highway communications network by steps, rapid popularization of internet, combining and digitalizing communication and broadcasting, and so on, multimedia-oriented of living life and Information-oriented of family life are rapidly in progress. With development of various information technology which can accept the capacious multimedia environment, it is realized to interchange information with societies using network at home. As Electric home appliances, which were regarded as modern conveniences, were adapted to digital conditions, networking has been turned into a possibility. In addition, the connection with internet became more natural, electric home appliances have developed into high quality and multi-function devices. So, recognizing these changes and confirming possibilities of products, I collected and demonstrated documents of future technology. This article is trying to support infinite possibilities of development in information technology goods with an emphasis on growth steps of digital products. The reason that I classified into electronic and communication part, home robot part, life science part, social environmental science part and the energy of new materials part, based on 'Technology Development year book until 2030, which was published by department of science and technology of Japan. From communication, which start is traced back to last century, to life science, which is recently confirmed it's possibility of development, in the beginning there were so many different purposes and various forms, but I became convinced that current features of those part are focused on one issue, humanism. Also, I want to repeat my opinion that humanity is another ultimate object of design as a aesthetic work.

      • 입체조형 교육 프로그램 개발에 관한 연구

        3 Dimensional forming design is very important educational course in Design education. Forming is expressed in 3 Dimensional space by various elements such as lines, shapes. Surface, structure, colors etc. "Performance of making Shape"is Forming itself, Designers should observe carefully an object, experience with materials and then the ability of artistic expression can be brought up. To avoid from fixed ideas and imitation, New approach for discovery of morphological sensibility, materials, and function can help to form these purpose of 3D forming design training 1: Recreate image of form that distinctly translate image of product. 2: Understand of materials and characteristics of materials and Training should have experience for implication of good functionality. 3: Start from understanding of From and Technology must coexist in form and Creating rather than just Making one. This report studied approaching form training as method for entrance level of Product Design. This suggested method could get the good result from experimental education program for students of hongik univ. Industrial design dept. So more new form study training program should establish in future.

        IT기술발달에 따른 모바일 폼팩터 변화연구

        Contemporary society is experiencing rapid development in information communication technology while merging into an era of High-Technology. The IT industry, a key industry of the nation, comprehends a considerable level of international competitive power. In such circumstance, a great deal of capital and technology were invested to mobile phone, which represents IT industry, and as the market widens, consumer needs also grew diversified. Through the evolution from the past voice call centered services to multi-media instruments, various technologies were developed. Looking into the changes from the 1st generation to the 4th generation by mobile technology development, it is shown that the early period mobile phones were merely media products. Along with technology development, fees dropped and user group enlarged. As the market grew in size, users' demands diversified and grew more demanding, and to satisfy such demands, various technology developments came out. Later on as technological differentiation became harder to achieve, the importance of design came to recognition. Form factor, among design elements, is a component of mobile phone, directly related to users, and has tight connection with IT technology. Form factor is a component that can show design difference at once, and is a characteristics that can show the technology directly. For such reason, between the 2.5th generation and the 3rd generation, various form factors were researched, developed and launched in the market. However, the current progress of form factor, when facing to enter the 4th generation, is at a standstill. That is because any specialized form factor would not be appropriate presently when virtually all the IT technologies are being implemented. At a time like this, another differentiation of form factor is needed.

        제품 조형의 상징화 과정과 현대 디자인의 복고적 경향에 관한 연구

        The things are constantly rid of the technological system through the signification , which means that the things are freed from the formal, conscious and ideological restrictions posed on them in the past, and expose their own significance very clearly. The product are being passed through various process of agreements with the users until they are exposed their significance like signs. This study defined the agreement process as 'symbolizing process of product style' through ascription of significance made by interaction between the product and users, and proposed as structural model. The 'symbolizing process of product style' interprets the influence of the product on the users based on theoretical foundations of 'product semantics' and 'semiotic symbol'. Being recognized as subjects by the user, the product draws the agreement process called ascription of significance through interpretation, communication, and symbolizing stages. Each stage is made with the agreement process among the functional, morphological, emotional elements, and the perspectives of the interpretation are varied depending on what element is emphasized. The symbolizing process of product style can be interpreted through the re-appearance of agreed significance and the revivalistic trends of modern design in the aspects of the stream of the time. 3 characteristics of 'partial appropriation of morphological element', 'reproduction emphasized the functional definition' and 'replacement emphasized the emotional agreement' are drawn as the revivalist trends of modern design is being passed through the symbolizing process of the product style. This study has meaning that it structured the stage of significance for the product through the interaction between human beings and the things. 사물은 끊임없이 의미작용을 통해서 기술적 체계로부터 벗어나고 있다. 이것은 과거 사물이 지닌 의례적·의식적·이데올로기적인 구속에서 자유로워졌음을 의미하며, 사물은 자신의 의미에 대해 매우 분명하게 드러내고자 한다. 나아가 제품은 의미를 기호와 같이 드러내고 정의되기까지 여러 가지 사용자들과의 합의의 과정을 거치게 된다. 본 연구는 합의의 과정을 제품과 사용자간의 상호작용을 통해 이루어지는 의미 부여를 통한 ‘제품조형의 상징화 과정’으로 정의내리고 구조적 모델로 제시한다. ‘제품조형의 상징화 과정’은 제품이 사용자에게 미치는 영향을 ‘제품의미론’과 ‘기호론적 상징’라는 이론적 토대를 바탕으로 한다. 제품은 사용자에게 대상물로 인식되면서 해석의 단계, 커뮤니케이션의 단계, 상징화 단계를 거쳐 의미부여라는 합의의 과정을 이끌어 낸다. 각 단계에서는 기능적, 형태적, 감성적 요소들 간의 합의의 과정으로 이루어지며, 각 단계마다 어떤 요소가 강조되어 나타나는가에 따라 해석의 관점이 달라진다. 제품조형의 상징화 과정은 합의된 의미의 재출현과 과거부터 현재까지의 시간적 흐름 측면에서 현대디자인의 복고적 경향을 통해 해석할 수 있다. 현대 디자인의 복고적 경향을 제품조형의 상징화 과정의 단계를 거치면서 ‘형태적 요소의 부분적 차용(借用)’, ‘기능적 정의가 강조된 복제(複製)’, 그리고 ‘감성적 합의가 강조된 대체(代替)’ 의 세 가지 특성이 도출된다. 이를 통해, 인간과 사물의 상호작용을 통한 제품의 의미 부여의 단계를 구조화 했다는 점에 의의를 가진다.
