        힙업기능이 적용된 기립보조의자의 생체역학적 평가

        배주환,문인혁,Bae, Ju-Hwan,Moon, In-Huyk 대한의용생체공학회 2011 의공학회지 Vol.32 No.3

Lifting chair is a typical assistive product to aid for standing up and sitting down for persons with disability. It is particularly useful for the elderly persons whose muscular system is weakened by degenerative joint disease. This paper describes biomechanical assessments of lifting chair with hip-up function. In experiments we measured 3D motion and electromyographic(EMG) signal on the femoral muscle when subject performs the standing motion on the predetermined seat height. Based on assessment of the standing motion, we select the hip-up angle as 15 degrees to cover the relative femoral angle when EMG peak value is appeared. Using an implemented prototype lifting chair with hip-up function we perform standing experiments with five subjects. The experimental results show that the lifting and hip-up functions are effective to assist for standing up motion with less muscle force.

This paper proposes a kinematic analysis for a multi-posture controllable wheelchair. The available functions of the wheelchair are reclining, tilting, standing-up, and elevation, which are performed by controlling four linear actuators. The standing-up function is controlled by extending the back-rest and the leg-rest of the seat at once. To optimize the wheelchair posture into the human body structure, the speed of the linear actuators is controlled independently. Simulation results using a wheelchair-seat model proposed in this study show the wheelchair controllable multi-postures is feasible.

다자세 제어가 가능한 휠체어용 의자기구의 설계 및 제어

        배주환(Ju-hwan Bae),김규석(Gyu-Seok Kim),류제청(Je-Cheong Ryu),문인혁(Inhyuk Moon) Korean Society for Precision Engineering 2010 한국정밀공학회지 Vol.27 No.5

This paper presents a design of seat mechanism for multi-postures controllable wheelchair. The possible seat postures are reclining, tilting, standing, which are controlled by four seat mechanisms using four linear actuators. The seat mechanisms designed in this study are reclining, tilting, forward-tilting, and elevation mechanism. Three postures except standing are controlled by corresponding mechanisms, but the standing posture is performed by combination of the reclining and the forward-tilting mechanism. Posture control system is composed of PID controllers and a planner to determine a feasible posture based on a posture transition diagram. Simulation results show that the seat mechanism and its control system are applicable to a multipostures controllable wheelchair.

Development of Sensory Feedback System for Myoelectric Prosthetic Hand

        배주환(Ju-Hwan Bae),정성윤(Sung Yoon Jung),김신기(Shinki Kim),문무성(Museong Mun),고창용(Chang-Yong Ko) Korean Society for Precision Engineering 2015 한국정밀공학회지 Vol.32 No.10

This study aimed to develop a sensory feedback system which could measure force and temperature for the user of myoelectric prosthetic hands. The Sensory measurement module consisted of a force sensing resistor to measure forces and non-contact infrared temperature sensor. These sensors were attached on the fingertips of the myoelectric prosthetic hand. The module was validated by using standard weights corresponding to external force and a Peltier module. Sensory transmission module consisted of four vibration motors. Eight vibration patterns were generated by combining motion of each vibration motor and were dependent on kinds and/or magnitude. The module was verified by using standard weigts and water at varying temperatures. There were correlations of force and temperature between the sensory measurement module and standard weight and water. Additionally, exact vibration patterns were generated, indicating the efficacy of the sensory feedback system for the myoelectric prosthetic hand.

Vol.30 No.3

This paper proposes a biomimetic hand prosthesis with tendon-driven five fingers. Each finger is composed of a distal-middle phalange, a proximal phalange and a metacarpal bone, which are connected to a link mechanism. The finger flexion is a resultant motion by pulling a wire to serve as a tendon, but the finger extension is performed by an elastic mechanism composed of a restoration spring. The designed hand prosthesis with tendon-driven five fingers has totally six degrees of freedom. But its weight is merely 400.73g. The hand can perform various hand functions such as the grasping and the hand postures. From experimental results, we show that the proposed hand prosthesis is useful to amputees as a prosthetic hand.

This study was conducted to examine physical therapists' awareness of alternative medicine and their treatment. 250 physical therapists who were working in Daegu were selected as subjects of this study. Data were collected from February 21, 2000 to March 31, 2000. The results of this study are summarized as follows. 1. Among 218 respondents, 72.7% of them directly experienced alternative medicine. According to general characteristics of the respondents, 79.0% of them who were in thirties had experiences in alternative medicine. 83.3% of the respondents who had worked for above twenty years experienced alternative medicine and 90.0% of the respondents who were working in Oriental medical clinics had experiences in it. 79.8% of the respondents who had been married experienced alternative medicine and 88.4% of them who were Buddhists had experience in it. 2. The sources of information on alternative medicine were newspapers and broadcast (22.9%), seminars of related associations (22.5%), and Books (20.0%). 3. The respondents experienced alternative medicine for the purpose of treating their chronic diseases (67.0%), improving their energy and quality of life (20.5%), and improving their weak physical constitution (13.4%). 4. According to the respondents' trust in alternative medicine, 40.8% of them trusted chiropractic, while 25.2% of them trusted massage and finger-pressure therapy. 19.7% of them trusted taping therapy and 15.1% of them trusted sports massage. 5. 67.0% of the respondents treated patients by alter native medicine in the hospitals and clinics. In the case of treatment methods by alternative medicine, 35.3% of them gave patients the massage and finger-pressure. 33.0% of them adopted taping therapy and 24.3% of them tried to treat patients by chiropractic. 17.0% of them applied moxacautery, while 15.1% of them gave patients the sports massage. 6. The respondents adopted alternative medicine to treat following diseases: lumbago (57.5%), shoulder pain (51.8%), sciatica (39.9%), arthritis (36.2%), headache (31.1%), hypertension (24.3%), diseases of the peripheral nervous system (22.4%), diseases of digestive organ (14.6%), insomnia (12.3%), obesity (8.7%), stroke (5.5%), allergy and skin diseases (4.1%), cystitis (3.6%). 7. According to their motives of concern about alternative medicine, 59.1% of them were interested in it because they expected additional effect which could be obtained from it in parallel with Western medicine. 16.7% of them were concerned about alternative medicine because they lacked ability to solve patients' clinical problems, while 15.3% of them were interested in it because they acknowledged the effect of it. 8.9% of them had interest in alternative medicine because they were dissatisfied with medical and scientific approach of Western medicine. 8. 73.4% of the respondents thought that alternative medicine needed to be introduced in the college/university curriculum
