Load sharing in distributed systems improves systems performance. Research in the field has been focused on steady state performance for load sharing algorithms. However, transient characteristics of such algorithms may be important in a distributed system in which workload for some node is changing. Simulation is the only means to analyze such characteristics. This paper presents a simulation-based analysis of the transient characteristics of four load sharing algorithms ; forward probing, reverse probing, symmetric probing, and multi-threshold symmetric probing algorithms. Discrete event system models for execution of the algorithms in a distributed system has been developed in a SIMSCRIOT II.5 environment. Simulation results indicate that the MSYM algorithm shows the shortest response time in the transient period.

Recent Years, computing environment has changed from central to distributed computing and needs a new techonology for contructing effective and low cost server system. Server system needs multitasking and multithreading capability, but current system software need some computing power and many hardware constraints. So someone who needs server system with low cost low hardware constraints, it is very difficult and tedious thing to implement server system for a particular task. In the previous paper, we intorduced PC_XINU as a solution for constructing low cost server and implement communication capability for remote execution. In this paper, previously implemented function is extended with SIM(Server-based Information Manager). Using SIM, new processing uint is easily added, deleted, and modified. Moreover SIM provide load balancing and manage all processing information accross distributed systems.

Load distributing algorithm distributed the processor workload among the processors in the distributed system through process migration or process placement. Since several choices exist for effective process migration or process placement, we are faced with a variety of load distributing algorithm. In this paper, we propose a new load distributing algorithm(SOTC : sender oriented threshold control). Using simulation result, We show that the proposed algorithm has a better performance than random probe load distributing algorithm.

If a server operate appropriately on Multiple user requests, sever needs a multitasking or multithreading capability. So, every server uses Window95/NT , Linux, or Unix as operating system to provide such capability but such an operating system needs a high quality hardware. If someone needs server with low cost and low quality hardware, it is very difficult and tedious thing. In this paper, we proposed PC_XINU as a solution for constructing low cost server. In order to use PC_XINU, We introduced new function for remote execution and remote execution management and implement them.

Many distributed and parallel applications can make good use of broadcast communication. A new, simple protocol for atomic broadcast is presented. This prorocol guarantees unique ordering of delevered message, i.e. the order of messages is the same at each of the recepient. In addition this protocol tolerates lost,(i.e. due to the transmission error and buffer full error) duplication, and delay of massages.

In this paper, we propose a new load sharing algorithm. Proposed algoritm classified a threshold value of the previous algorithm into 4 kinds of threshold values according to the usage of the threshold value in the load sharing algorithm. Each threshold value can be determined easily by local processor using local informationsm, We show through simulations that proposed algorithm has better performance than the previous algorithm on the variance of the system workload and job transmission "time".

Recently, the design and implemenation of a logic programming system capable of handing very large knowledge bases will be present. The loose coupling is an act without resursion. This paper introduces the purpose of loose coupling system with recursion. This system is implemented by adding a sub-process SELECTOR and particular two system calls. This can be used to avoid high cost in consructing a new large full integration system and coupling system of recursion problem.

Solenoid diaphragm fuel pump, which to replace mechanical fuel pump system by utilizing cam-shaft driving force, is in the spotlight for being a high efficient green car component. However, there is a drawback in power consumption as a solenoid diaphragm fuel pump only relies on solenoid for its flux needed in reciprocating motion. Therefore, this research proposes permanent magnet type VCM (Voice Coil Motor) fuel pump system to minimized power consumption. Furthermore, the study compares and analyzes power consumption and dynamic performance between the current and the former solenoid diaphragm pump by conducting finite element analysis with the commercial electromagnetic solver, MAXWELL.

Offshore Bridge Crane and Hoist which are used FPSO Ships that can move through self - power and have oil production, store and loading and unloading facilities are increasing demand. These equipments must use Crane safely by pitch and rolling of the high wave. For this, they have to be equipped with high durability and safety. So the advanced shipbuilding industries use a private design system which can be prompt in design and analyze in the first stage. For this study, It was developed a basic design system for "Bridge Crane and Hoist" used on FPSO ships. By developing this automated system for "Bridge Crane and Hoist" design, we will be able to make the design data easy to understand. This basic design system will help reduce the amount of working time it takes to design new systems, construct design databases and get approval for the finished design.
