중독자의 심리와 회복에 대한 영성의 역할 - 호흡과 자기사랑을 중심으로

본 연구의 목적은 중독자의 회복에서 호흡과 자기사랑을 중심으로 한 영성의 역할을 탐색하는 것이었다. 불안, 공포와 같은 부정적 정서는 중독과 밀접한 관계를 가지며, 아동기에 부모나 다른 중요한 주변인들로부터 사랑받지 못한 경험에서 기인할 수 있다. 중독자는 부정과 투사, 합리화 등의 방어기제를 사용하고 중독 대상들에 몰두함으로써 이러한 부정적 정서를 회피하려 한다. 중독자가 경험하는 부정적 정서는 불편한 호흡으로 이어진다. 하지만 중독자가 자신의 호흡을 주시하면서 편안한 호흡을 되찾는다면 부정적 정서가 완화되고 회복이 잘 유지될 수 있다. 이는 호흡과 자기사랑이 중독에 대한 효과적인 영성적 개입 표적이 될 수 있음을 시사한다. This study aimed to explore the role of spirituality centered on breathing and self-love on the recovery of addicts. Negative emotions such as anxiety and fear are closely related to addiction and can result from experiences that were not loved by parents or other important people in childhood. Addicts try to avoid the negative emotions by using defense mechanisms such as denial, projection, and rationalization and being immersed in the subjects of addiction. The negative emotions experienced by addicts lead to uncomfortable breathing. On the contrary, if addicts regain comfortable breathing while paying attention to their breathing, negative emotions can be relaxed and recovery can be well maintained. The study suggests that breathing and self-love can be effective spiritual intervention.

Eosinophilic colitis is a rare disease that is characterized by eosinophilic infiltration in the colon wall in symptomatic patients. Thus far, the epidemiology and pathophysiology of eosinophilic colitis have not been well defined, but the hypersensitivity response is likely to play a role in its pathogenesis. The clinical presentation of eosinophilic colitis is usually nonspecific and depends on the layer of the intestinal wall affected by the eosinophilic infiltrate. Eosinophilic colitis is diagnosed generally by exclusion, i.e., after all other causes of eosinophilic infiltration have been excluded. Although there is no consensus over its diagnostic criteria, the laboratory results and radiology and endoscopy findings can provide important diagnostic evidence. This paper reports a case of eosinophilic colitis presenting as subepithelial tumor-like lesions in a 41-year-old man with the chief complaints of abdominal pain and loose stools. The patient had no diseases and no food or drug allergies in his medical history. In general, the endoscopic findings of eosinophilic colitis can vary from a normal mucosa to frank ulcerations. In this case, however, endoscopy revealed subepithelial tumor-like lesions. The colon biopsy showed eosinophilic infiltration in the lamina propria. The patient was treated with steroids, and his symptoms regressed with no signs of relapse. (Korean J Gastroenterol 2021;77:300-304)
T7 RNA polymerase 유전자의 담배식물에서의 발현

We have prepared several chimeric constructs containing the bacteriophage T7 RNA polymerase gene under control of the wound-inducible potato proteinase inhibitor II (pin2) promoter and have transformed Nicotiana tabacum plants with these constructs. Southern blot analyses indicate that either one or two copies of the gene constructs are present in the transgenic plants. Northern blot analyses indicate that mRNA encoding T7 RNA polymerase is expressed in a wound-inducible manner. We purified T7 RNA polymerase and prepared antiserum. This antiserum was used for Western blot analyses to demonstrate that a protein which is cross reactive with T7 RNA polymerase is produced. The molecular mass of this protein is 80 kDa, a size which is consistant with the nicked form of the polymerase as is often seen when expressed in E. coli. RNA polymerase assays were used to indicate that the nicked form of T7 RNA polymerase is active and capable of incorporating labeled nucleotides into transcripts in vitro. Analysis of transgenic plants did indeed show that wound-inducible activation of the T7 RNA polymerase permits the establishment of a genetic system to overexpress genes in plants using T7 RNA polymerase.
Hepatoprotective effect of Hippocampus abdominalis hydrolysate

Recently, liver damage contributes to big percentage of the morbidity and mortality rates worldwide. Excessive intake of alcohol is one of the major causes of liver injury. When liver injury is repeated and becomes chronic, it leads to development of fibrosis and cirrhosis. In the liver, TGF-β is a profibrogenic cytokine, which participates in various critical events cause liver fibrosis. Seahorse (Hippocampus abdominalis) is a common traditional Chinese medicine and has been widely used for centuries. Seahorse has been known to have a variety of bioactivities, such as anti-oxidant, anti-fatigue, and anti-tumor. Peptide is one of the main compounds of seahorse. In this study, we isolated enzymatic hydrolysate from seahorse H. abdominalis by alcalase hydrolysis and investigated the effect of the hydrolysate on liver injury. In the present in vitro studies, the hydrolysate increases cell viability of Chang cells and protects Huh7 cells from ethanol toxicity. In addition, the hydrolysate inhibits TGF-β-induced responses. In vivo studies show that the pretreatment of hydrolysate reduces alcohol-induced increases of serum Glutamic oxaloacetic acid transaminase and Glutamic pyruvate transaminase activities and increases liver weight and body weight. These results suggest that seahorse may have a hepatoprotective effect.
