In this study, computational multi-body dynamics and structural vibration analyses including some impact condition have been conducted for the ground flight test system of the developed smart UAV model. Designed ground test system has four degree-of-freedom motions with limited motion control mechanism. Design safety margin designs for several structural components are tested and verified considering expected critical motions (pitching and rolling) of the test smart UAV model. Computational results for various analysis conditions are practically presented in detail. Futhermore, proper design modifications of the initially designed test equipment in order to guarantee or increase structural safety have been successfully conducted in the design stage.
혈액배양에서 VITEK MS와 VITEK 2 System을 이용한 신속 항생제 감수성 시험의 유용성 평가

The results of rapid antimicrobial susceptibility test (AST) in blood cultures were obtained by inoculating the bacteria directly into the VITEK MS and the VITEK 2 systems without subculturing in the blood culture positive medium. The obtained results were compared with the results using a standard method to evaluate their reliability and accuracy. The direct AST results in blood culture positive specimens were 97.9% (1,936/1,978), consistent with the standard AST results. Gram-positive bacteria showed a concordance rate of 97.2% (1,051/1,081), a very major error rate of 0.5% (5/1,081), a major error rate of 0.1% (1/1,081), and a minor error rate of 2.2% (24/1,081). Staphylococcus epidermidis was the main cause of discordance, and gentamicin (N=9) and fusidic acid (N=8) showed high errors. The overall concordance rate and minor error among the Gram-negative bacteria were 98.6% (885/897) and 1.4% (12/897), respectively. Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were the major causative bacteria of Gram-negative bacteria. Among them, amoxicillin/clavulanic acid (N=3) showed high error. Direct AST met the CLSI criteria and shortened the reporting time by 24 hours; however, we found that there was a need to perform an addition test via disk diffusion for antimicrobials with very large errors. These results suggest that the method of direct AST in blood culture positive medium may be very useful in efficiently treating patients.

Modem wind turbines have been mainly erected in region where earthquake are rare or normally weak, especially Korea was thought as safety zone from earthquake. But recently, the earthquake occurs more and more frequently thus the wind turbine design is required for the structural and functional stability under the earthquake. The earthquake can influence normal operation, even if a weak earthquake. There are two ways to review the design under earthquake using Computer Applied Engineering (CAE). One is the Response Spectrum Analysis (RSA) the other is Time History Analysis (THA). In this research, dynamic response on time is obtained under the earthquake by taking into account ground accelerogram consistent with the relevant standards applied to the turbine foundation.
마이코박테리움을 신속하게 배양할 수 있는 성장 인자에 관한 연구

Mycobacterium은 느리게 성장한다. 따라서 고체배지는 8주, 액체배지는 6주 동안 사용하여야 한다. 이 연구의 목적은 Mycobacterium을 빠르게 성장시킬 수 있는 성장 인자를 찾고, 신속한 동정을 위한 고체배지를 개발하는 데 도움을 주는 것이다. $Difco^{TM}$ Mycobacteria 7H11 agar (Becton, Dickinson and Company)에 activated charcoal, defibrinated sheep blood, L-ascorbic acid를 첨가하여 10종의 Mycobacteria 가지고 Mycobacterium 성장 인자 3가지를 평가하였다. 집락의 검출 시간 및 판독 용이성을 현재의 방법과 비교하였다. 빠르게 성장하는 Mycobacterium 있어 새로운 배지와 기존의 배지에서 검출 시간의 차이는 새로운 배지가 더 빠르다는 것을 확인시켜 주었다. M. kansasii와 M. intracelluare는 7H11 배지보다 7H11 C 배지에서 더 빠르게 자라는 것으로 확인되었다. MTB는 7H11 C 배지에서 다른 배지보다 빠르게 성장하였다. 이 연구는 2 두 가지 성장 인자가 빠르게 성장하는 Mycobacteria과 느리게 성장하는 Mycobacteria에 영향을 주는 것으로 확인되었다. 7H11 C 배지는 색상 대비로 인하여 10종의 모든 Mycobacterium에서 기존배지보다 더 뛰어난 판독 용이성을 보여 주었다. 특히, MTB가 성장했을 경우 집락의 크기가 다른 배지에서 보다 커서 시각화가 용이하였다. Mycobacteria grow slowly. Therefore, a solid medium should be used for eight weeks and a liquid medium for six weeks. The purpose of this study was to find the growth factors that can grow Mycobacterium rapidly and to help develop a solid medium for rapid identification. Three types of Mycobacterium growth factors were evaluated with 10 Mycobacteria by adding activated charcoal, defibrinated sheep blood, and L-ascorbic acid to $Difco^{TM}$ Mycobacteria 7H11 agar (Becton, Dickinson and Company, Sparks, MD, USA). The time to detection and the distinguishability of a colony were compared with that of the current method. In the rapidly growing Mycobacterium, the difference in detection time between the new media and conventional media confirmed that the new media was faster. M. kansasii and M. intracelluare grew faster in 7H11 C than in 7H11 medium. MTB grew faster than the other media in 7H11 C. This study confirmed that the two growth factors affect fast-growing Mycobacteria and slow-growing Mycobacteria. 7H11 C showed better distinguishability than the conventional media in all 10 Mycobacterium due to the color contrast. In particular, when the MTB was grown, the size of the colonies was larger than with other media, so visualization was easy.

In this study, advanced computational technique for mechatronic analysis has been developed for the efficient design and test of typical machine tool models. Flexible multi-body dynamic (FMBD) analysis method combined with motion controller including control logics is used to simulate typical operation conditions. The present FMBD machine tool model is composed of flexible column structure, rigid body spindle, vertical motion guide (arm) and screw elements. Driving motor clement with rotating degree-of-freedom is interconnected and governed by the designed Matlab Simulink control logic, and then the position of the spindle is feedback into the control logic. It is practically shown from the results that the investigation of designed machine tools with controller can be effectively conducted and verified.
풍하중 효과를 고려한 MW급 풍력발전기 타워의 지진응답 해석

본 논문에서는 CFD와 FEM에 기초한 진보된 전산해석 기법을 적용하였고 지진에 의한 수평 및 수직방향 기반가진 및 풍하중 효과를 동시에 고려하여 MW급 풍력발전기의 지진응답 해석을 수행하였다. 본 연구에서는 실용적인 응답특성 파악을 위해 시간영역 수치해석기법을 적용하였으며, 지진기반하중 및 풍하중에 의한 영향을 상호 비교하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 관성 특성이 매우 큰 초대형 풍력발전기가 정상작동 조건 중 지진이 유발되는 경우가 타워에 유발되는 응력특성에 큰 영향을 미칠 수 있기 때문에 중요하게 고려될 필요성이 있음을 알 수 있었다. In this study, seismic response analyses of a MW class wind-turbine have been conducted considering applied wind-loads using advanced computational method based on CFD and FEM. Typical lateral and vertical acceleration levels induced by earthquake is also considered herein. Practical numerical method for seismic response analysis of wind-turbine tower models are presented in the time-domain and the effects of wind load and seismic excitation for responses are compared to each other. It is importantly shown that possible earthquake effect during typical operating conditions should be taken into account in the design of huge wind-turbine tower systems because of its enormous inertia characteristics for induced maximum stress level.
CLSI M40-A2 기준에 따른 수송배지의 흡수 및 배출, 생존 효율, 회수율 평가

5종류의 수송배지를 흡수 및 배출 능력, 생존 효율, 회수율을 CLSI (Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute) M40-A2의 Swab elution method (Quantitative) 기준으로 평가하였다. 액체배지가 반유동 배지보다 3가지 평가에서 대부분 우수한 결과값을 보여주었다. Flocked swab이 standard swab 형태보다 균의 흡수 및 배출의 능력 또한 우수하였다. 생존 효율에 대한 평가 결과는 액체배지(S4)가 가장 우수한 결과값을 보였다. 성장이 좋지 않은 S. pneumoniae는 액체배지(S4, S5)에서 생존효율과 회수율이 높았다. 균 회수율 평가 결과는 S. pyogenes는 모든 배지에서 CLSI 기준에 적합하였다. S. pneumoniae는 반유동 배지(S2, S3)에서 부적합하였고, 나머지 배지는 모두 기준에 적합하였다. H. influenzae는 반유동 배지(S1, S3)에서 부적합하였고, 반유동 배지(S2), 액체배지(S4, S5)에서 기준에 적합하였다. 호흡기 질환을 유발하는 S. pneumonia, H. influenzae의 생존 능력은 대부분의 배지에서 좋지 않았다. P. aeruginosa는 실온에서 과성장이 관찰되었다. 액체배지와 flocked swab의 조합이 3가지 평가 방법에서 가장 뛰어난 결과를 평가를 통해 확인하였다. The absorption and release capacities, survival efficiency, and recovery rates of five kinds of transport media were evaluated based on the swab elution method (Quantitative) of CLSI (Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute) M40-A2. Liquid media showed mostly better results than semi-solid media in the three evaluations. The flocked swabs had better ability to absorption and discharge bacteria than the standard swabs. The liquid medium (S4) had the best survival efficiency. Pneumococcal strains with poor growth had a higher survival efficiency and recovery rate in liquid media (S4, S5). The results of microbial recovery showed that S. pyogenes met all the CLSI standards in all media. S. pneumoniae was inadequate in the semi- solid media (S2, S3) and all the remaining media met the criteria. H. influenzae was unsuitable in semi-solid media (S1, S3) and met the criteria in semi-solid medium (S2) and liquid medium (S4, S5). The viability of the H. influenzae, pneumococcal strain causing respiratory disease, was poor in most media. Overgrowth of P. aeruginosa was observed at room temperature. The combination of liquid medium and flocked swab confirmed the best results in the three evaluation methods.
3차원 회전 블레이드에 대한 정적/동적 유체-구조 연계해석

In this study, static/dynamic fluid-structure interaction analyses have been conducted for a 3D rotary blade model like a turbo-machinery or wind turbine blade. Advanced computational analysis system based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and computational structural dynamics (CSD) has been developed in order to investigate detailed dynamic responses of rotary type models. Fluid domains are modeled using the computational grid system with local grid deforming techniques. Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations with various turbulence model are solved for unsteady flow problems of the rotating blade model. Detailed static/dynamic responses and instantaneous pressure contours on the blade surfaces considering flow-separation effects are presented to show the multi-physical phenomenon of the rotating blades.
