This paper presents a software toolbox with Matlab<SUP>®</SUP> developed for the various performance analysis of an automatic guidance system of the Bimodal Tram. The Bimodal Tram is a new kind of transportation vehicle which could be an all-wheel steered multiple-articulated vehicle. This vehicle has to be equipped with an automatic guidance. traction/braking, and docking system. In tile stage of developing such a system, its validities and performances should be verified under various operation conditions. For the purpose of doing these things through simulation, this toolbox has been developed and demonstrated well by applying it to the KRRI model.

Esophageal stethoscope is used for monitoring the heart sounds and breath sounds of patients during surgery under a general anesthesia. Recently, an electronic esophageal stethoscope (EES)[1] has been developed for the purpose of real-time monitoring these information visually. This system uses only a microphone as the sound sensor. A drawback of the EES system is that it may be difficult to distinguish the first sound (S₁) and the second sound (S₂) of heart, because their periods are irregular depending on patients. In this paper, we propose an improved EES system in which the infrasound is measured by adding a pressure sensor as well as a sound sensor. We investigate some correlations between the infrasound and characteristics of the heart sound. The proposed system has been tested on 15 patients. The results show that the new system is capable of detecting the first sound more reliably and easily determining the heart rate and breathing period.

전 차륜 조향 굴절차량의 자동안내제어를 위한 기준경로와의 편차 되먹임 방식은 곡선경로에서 발생하는 정상상태 오차를 줄이기 어렵다. 본 논문은 이 차량의 자동안내제어의 성능향상을 위한 전향보상기 설계에 대해 기술한다.

A three-dimensional dynamic model for simulating various motions of full vehicle is presented. The model has 16 independent degrees of freedom (DOF) consisting of three kinds of components; a vehicle body of 6 DOF, 4 independent suspensions equipped at every corner of the body, and 4 tire models linked with each suspension. The dynamic equations are represented in six coordinate frames such as world fixed coordinate, vehicle fixed coordinate, and four wheel fixed coordinate frames. Then these lead to the approximated prediction model of vehicle posture. Both lateral and longitudinal dynamics can be computed simultaneously under the conditions of which various inputs including steering command, driving torque, gravity, rolling resistance of tire, aerodynamic resistance, etc. are considered. It is shown through simulations that the proposed 3D model can be useful for precise design and performance analysis of any full vehicle control systems.
The effect of pH on synthesizing Ni-decorated MWCNTs and its application for Sn-58Bi solder

Nickel-decorated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (Ni-MWCNTs) were synthesized using a colloidal method and an electroless plating method to form Ni nanoparticles on the surface of MWCNTs. The Ni electroless plating process was optimized with solutions at various pH (5, 6, 7, and 8) levels. The Ni-MWCNTs fabricated at pH 7 show the most stable Ni nanoparticles on the surface of the MWNCTs. After optimization of the Ni plating process, the Ni-MWCNTs/Sn-58Bi composite solder were fabricated with varying contents of (0, 0.05, 0.1 and 0.2 wt%) Ni-MWCNTs. The experimental results show that Ni-MWCNTs enhance the mechanical properties of Sn-58Bi solder. The shear strength of Sn-58Bi solder improves by about 14% with 0.1 wt% Ni-MWCNTs. Furthermore, the microstructure evolution after a high temperature storage test shows that Ni-MWCNTs have an effect on grain refining and interrupt growth of the Intermetallic compound layer. The distribution of Ni- MWCNTs could be recognized with the results of EPMA.
