The three-phase full(6-pulse) bridge controlled rectifier is one of the most widely used types of solid-state converters in DC drive applications for higher performance. In most of the previous designs, the gate control circuits of the converter have been designed with analog method which can be easily affected by noise. Nowdays with advances of microelectronics and power electronics, microprocessor and pheripal LSIs are increasingly used for eliminating this problems. In this paper, a novel general-purpose microprocessor -based firing system and control scheme for a three-phase controlled rectifier bridge has been developed and tested. Using the phase relations between ${\Delta}$-Y transformer in power operation part, gate pulse of the converter is generated with real time process so that microprocessor may share its time to control algorithms efficiently. The firing angle of the converter is smoothly controlled in the range of 0 $^{\dirc}$ to 180$^{\dirc}$ with a fast respone and a constant open loop gain, even for the case where the converter is fed by a weak AC system of unregulated frequency. The hardware and software control circuit implementation built around a 80286 microprocessor is discussed, and the experimental results are given. This scheme uses less hardware components and has higher dynamic performance in variable speed DC drive applications.

This paper presents an advanced AC drive system used in electric vehicles. The system consists of a drive motor, a PWM transistorized inverter, a PCL-812PG data card, and a controller. This paper describes a design method for RSPWMSS and PID controller. This controller system is implemented on computer and applied to drive motor(induction motor), yielding satisfactory result.

The diffusion of fuzzy logic techniques into real applications requires specific software supports which save development time and reduce the programming effort. But we has been lack of a tool devoted to support the design of fuzzy controllers. In this paper, on the basis of the general fuzzy set and .alpha.-cut set decomposition of fuzzy sets, a set of fuzzy reasoning tool(FRT) devoted to support the design of fuzzy dontroller for servo systems is developed. The major features of this tool are: 1) It supports users to analyze fuzzy ingerence status based on input deta and expected results by three-D graphic display. 2) It supports users to prepare input data and expected result. 3) It supports users to tuned scaling factor of membership functions, rules and fuzzy inference. The paper shows how the suggested design tools are suitable to give a consistent answer to the tuning of fuzzy control system. This FRT is expected to exert good performance and devoted to support which the design of fuzzy controller is illustrated in the servo systems.

Usually ship is propelled by the conventional propeller. When the conventional propeller is used for ship's propulsion, reduction of propeller noise is big issue in some special vessel. In order to reduce the acoustic noise of the propeller, novel propulsion system named as MHD propulsion system has been studied among researchers. In this paper, thruster characteristic analysis and system analysis of MHD propulsion system have been carried out. Firstly basic experimental apparatus is designed, fabricated and installed and test is carried out. Test results are compared with numerical analysis. It is confirmed that test results agreed with numerical results satisfactorily.

The Author researched and published its results on how effectively the arcs suppressed when the contactors are opened at current zero point which indispensively exsists in AC circuits. In order to increase the effectiveness of suppressing the arcs in larger current, the author suggests a new suppressing method using auxiliary contactor which contains resistance which is connected in parallel with main contactor. The author's firm belief is that the arcs are suppressed remarkably, but there are several problems, especially how to determine the optimal resistance connected in series with auxiliary contactor.

With the advant of thryistors having large peak inverse voltages, current-source inverters are becoming very popular to feed induction motors. But it is very difficult to analysis the commutation. Since the actual variation of current during commutation is neither instantaneous nor linear and is effected by many parameters. Minimized bias-time of reverse voltages during commutation is expressed in term of machine parameters, capacitor voltage, load current and so on. The minimized bias-time is computed with y and z and also the commuation mechanism is tested on 2.2 kw induction motor. The computed results are compared with the experimental results, and the results give a good information for designing the commutation mechanism.

Nowadays electromagnetic contactors are used for power on-off in various electrical loads. If the severe arc are occurred when power off, the magnetic contactor can not long run because of damage of contactor. In this paper, Authors indicate a method of how to minimize the arc when power off, Authors contrived a electronic circuit which can adjust the demagnetizing point of electro magnetic contactor, and control the demagnetizing point, utilizing our circuit, so as to occur the extinguish of arc at near the AC current zero point which is indispensibly exists. From the results of study, Authors could get confirmations the AC circuit could cut off with occurrence of mininum arc, and that possibility of extensive utilization of our method to hightension circuit.

In this paper, the fundemental equation on the Trans-vector control of 3.phi. Induction motor drive and the new equivalent circuit to be adapted for this equation, have been obtained, and control drives system to be coincide with this equation is made. Therefore, it has been obtained that control scheme can always be used motor drive. 3.phi. Induction motor drive has been got the dynamic behavior the same as that of DC motor drive. The drive dynamic response is very rapid because of Trans-vector control on the I_1$ (primary current) and .${\omega}_1$ (frequency of primary current) of the Induation mechine. This paper indicates that a practicality of the drive control system and the rationalty of the theory have been identified with the experimental results. The effect of parameter variations on the drive dynamic response can be evaluated from these results.
