해외 장기 자원봉사자의 자원봉사활동 경험 - 낯선 땅에서의 성로역정(成路歷程) -

본 연구는 해외 장기 자원봉사자의 자원봉사활동 경험을 심층적으로 이해함으로써 효과적인 해외자원봉사 활동의 방향 및 관리방안을 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 아시아 지역에서 1년 이상 활동한 해외 장기 자원봉사자 9명을 대상으로 심층인터뷰를 실시하였다. Giorgi의 현상학적 연구방법을 사용하여 질적 분석한 결과, 해외 자원봉사 경험은 개념 92개, 하위범주 19개, 범주 6개로 나타났으며, 범주는 “낯선 길로 들어가기”, “길을 잃어버림”, “새로운 길 만들기”, “길 위에서 만난 사람들”, “혼자서는 갈 수 없는 길”, “또 다른 길 위에 서다”이다. 주요 연구결과를 토대로 사회복지실천 및 정책수립에의 함의를 제시하였다. The purpose of this study is to explore the volunteering experience of overseas long-term volunteers. Researchers had in-depth interviews with nine KOICA overseas volunteers who had finished the voluntary service in the Asian countries. By the Giorgi`s Phenomenological research method, it is found that the experience of overseas volunteering came out into 92 concepts, 19 subcategories and 6 categories. The experience of overseas long-term volunteering was constructed of 6 categories such as "Entering to the unfamiliar road", "Lost on the road", "Creating a new road", "Meeting people on the road", "A road that alone can not go", "Standing on another road". Based on the results of this study, the implications of the Social Work practice and policy were discussed.
트라이앵귤레이션 방법에 의한 기본간호 현장실습교육 평가

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify effectiveness of fundamental nursing practices in clinical settings. Method: This study adopted the triangulation method. Using one group pre-post test design, this study identified differences in self efficacy between pre and post clinical practice. The study was also designed to describe the nursing students experience of clinical practice by using content analysis Results: 1) All students experienced bedmaking, BST check, V/C check, positioning, transferring, assisting with moving and positioning, and ROM. Sixty percent of students experienced giving oral care, and forty percent experienced shampooing patient’s hair. 2) While the mean score of self efficacy was 3.88 in the pre-test, it decreased to 3.76 in the post-test. They were statistically different from each other. 3) Seven categories were elicited from the result of content analysis on the nursing students experience, which were ‘ignorant stranger’, ‘facing the gap between theory and practice’, ‘resolving the uncertainty of clinical setting’, ‘getting used to fundamental nursing practice’, ‘motivated by a desire to study and self-development’, ‘understanding the nursing professions job’, and ‘being helpful for the future career’. Conclusion: Fundamental nursing practice in clinical settings is a useful strategy that improves fundamental nursing skills and motivates students self-development.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand the stress coping experience of men nursing students in clinical practice. Methods: In-depth interview were done using semi-structured questionnaire with 25 men nursing students taking clinical practice. Data were analyzed using grounded theory. Results: Core category of coping experience of these nursing students was ‘a rolling stone’. Students’ coping strategies were ‘women centered environment’, ‘physical difficulty’, ‘lack of sufficient role models’, and ‘age related’. Helping components for their coping behaviors were ‘individual characteristics’, ‘attitude to men nursing student’, ‘one’s vision of nursing’, and ‘gender equality in nursing culture’. The consequence of this phenomenon were ‘a sense of belonging’, ‘building gender free nursing identity’, ‘nursing pride acquisition’ and ‘dream of nursing expert’. Conclusion: Men nursing students emphasized ‘growing as a mature nursing student’ in clinical practice.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand the coping experience of nursing students in clinical practice. Methods: In-depth interview was done with semi-structured questionnaire on 32 nursing students taking clinical practice. Data was analyzed through the grounded theory. Results: Core category of coping experience of nursing students was ‘trying to be a meaningful presence’ while clinical practice. Students’ coping strategies were ‘overcoming inexperience’, ‘receiving the recognition from the clinical instructors’, and ‘governing mind and body’. Helping components for their coping behaviors were ‘support from people’, ‘personal experience before clinical practice’, ‘dynamics with partners’. Through the coping experience during clinical practice, nursing students became mature and confirmed their identities as student nurses. Conclusion: Nursing students taking clinical practice tried to be a meaningful presence.
