This paper is a fundamental study on the mechanical properties of the high performance concrete confined with metal lath laterally. According to the results, the compressive strength and flexural strength increases with increase of metal lath thickness due to enhancing confined force. The brittle failure is caused at maximum load in plain concrete. But, in case of concrete confined with metal lath laterally, strain stress increases a little. In flexural load curve, energy absorbtion increases with increase of metal lath thickness, so it resists continuous load, deflection and crack is retained. Length change ratio decreases with increase of metal lath thickness due to confined force.

This paper is intended to introduce the Chinese Architectural Standard Specifications(CASS) for Korean construction engineers and compare it with Korean Architectural Standard Specifications (KASS). According to the results, the prescription on the limitation of chloride contents is less than 0.3㎏/㎥ in KASS, but, less than 1% of cement weight in CASS. As for determining target strength, although the concept of specifying strength, which is combination of designed strength with strength compensation by low temperature, is applied in KASS, it is determined by applying designed strength only in CASS. Protecting period of concrete against physical and mechanical attacks requires more than 1day since placing in KASS, but, it needs more than 12㎏f/㎠ of compressive strength according to CASS. The appearance of test specimens for compressive strength is cylindrical type with 2 times of diameter to the height of specimens in KASS, while cubic type with 150㎜ of each side length.

This paper is a fundamental study on the influence on the properties of high peformance concrete by mineral admixture. According to the results, while the fluidity decreases with the increase of replacement ratio of silica fume, it increases with the increase of replacement ratio of the other mineral admixture. Air content shows decreasing tendency with the increase of replacement ratio of fly ash, and the compressive strength of FA-SF2 shows the highest score. And the drying shrinkage increases with the increase of replacement ratio of fly ash, but it does not show much difference with the increase of replacement ratio of blast furnace slag powder. The autogenous shrinkage increases with the increase of replacement ratio of blast furnace slag powder, silica fume, while it decrease with the increase of replacement ratio of fly ash or combination of fly ash and silica fume. Therefore, it is thought that the fluidity, the placeability and the strength will be improved and the crack caused by autogenous shrinkage will be reduced by use of fly ash and silica fume together when making the high performance concrete.
