The purpose of this study is to develop an objective and consumer-oriented quality index for grading and standardization of agricultural products. To this end, we first identify attributes of agricultural products, which are regarded as important to consumer`s choice. The data for quality attributes are collected through evaluations by commission merchants at the Garak agricultural wholesale market, which accounts for the largest share of distribution of agricultural products in Korea. We chose peach and apple for application of the model. The value of each product attribute is estimated by the hedonic price analysis using auction prices as the dependent variable and the merchant`s evaluations of product quality by attribute as the explanatory variables. A quality index is then developed for each product using the estimated hedonic values. The newly developed index is called Agricultural Produce Quality Index (APQI) which tells us the aggregate value of attributes contained in a product in a single number. This simple but innovative index can make the agricultural grading and distribution system more efficient.

Mechanical properties of two kinds of auto-body steel sheets are presented over a wide range of strain rates and temperatures. Tensile tests were conducted at different strain rates and temperatures to determine constitutive models for the two materials. At high temperature, strain rate sensitivity is negative and Portevin?Le Chatelier effect is observed because of dynamic strain ageing (DSA). Widely known constitutive models such as Zerilli-Armstrong and Khan-Huang-Liang models cannot describe DSA effect. Therefore, the models are modified in order to describe material strengthening due to DSA at high temperature. The modified constitutive models give good correlations with experimental data over a wide range of strain rates and temperatures including the range in which material strengthening due to DSA occurs.

In order to improve the physical properties of recycled fine aggregate concrete, fiber reinforced concrete composites were prepared with synthetic fibers such as polyvinylalcohol(PVA), nylon, polypropylene(PP), kevlar, and carbon fiber and were investigated for their effects on the physical properties of these concrete composites. The compressive strength of these fiber reinforced concretes using hydrophilic fibers such as PVA and nylon was explicitly improved compared to that of recycled fine aggregate concrete without fiber. On the other hand, the flexural strength did not indicate the substantial changes even though high performance fiber was used. In addition to the strength reinforcing effect, the porosity of recycled fine aggregate concrete evidently decreased with fiber reinforcement, thus, making the concrete denser.

Brake-induced vibration of a vehicle such as brake judder has received considerable attention in recent years and<br/> sometimes has been the subject of recall after marketmore and more because it makes comfort and ride performance<br/> poor and gives customers complaints.<br/> In this study, we try to introduce a reduction case of brake judder transferred to the drivers and passengers via<br/> suspension, steering system and vehicle body using a variety of analysis and modification of rear axle. And we<br/> suggest optimal stiffened rear axle without increasing weight.
