Two-dimensional, angle-resolved LDV(Laser Doppler Velocimetry) measurements of the turbulent rotating flow field in a confined cylinder have been performed. The configurations of interest are flows between a rotating upper disk with a rod attached by a disk or impeller($\theta$ = 45$^{\circ}$, 90$^{\circ}$) and a stationary lower disk in a confined cylinder. The mean flow velocity as well as the turbulent intensity of the flow field have been measured. The results show that the flow is strongly dependent on the position of the impellers or the disk, negligibly affected by the Reynolds number in turbulent flow. It is observed that the mixing effect of the axial flow impeller($\theta$ = 45$^{\circ}$) is better than that of the radial flow impeller($\theta$ = 90$^{\circ}$) or a disk.
척추전방전위증 환자 45예의 요추주변근육의 지방침착도와 전위정도의 상관성에 대한 후향적 연구

Objectives Objective of this study is to investigate the role of paraspinal muscles by examining the correlation between slip percentage (SP) of spondylolisthesis and fatty infiltration of lumbar paraspinal muscle. Methods Retrospective analysis was performed on 45 patients diagnosed with spondylolisthesis based on medical records. Using T2-weighted axial magnetic resonance imaging, cross-sectional areas (CSAs) of psoas major (PM), multifidus (MU) and erector spinae (ES) were calculated and divided by CSA of lower level vertebral body (VB). SP was measured using sagittal T2-weighted images. Correlation of SP with muscle relative cross-sectional area (RCSA) and muscle fatty infiltration by Goutallier classification was respectively analyzed using Spearman correlation. Statistic assessment conducted by Wilcoxon signed rank test and paired t-test using program GraphPad prism 5 (GraphPad Software, Inc., San Diego, CA, USA). Results Spondylolisthesis forward slip percentage by Taillard's method was negatively associated with both side MU RCSAs. No significant correlation was found between PM RCSA, ES RCSA and SP. Forward slippage was significantly correlated with fatty infiltration of lumbar paraspinal muscle measured by Goutallier classification. Conclusions This study is to understand the role of paraspinal muscle affecting spinal instability by investigating correlation between statistical deviation of lumbar muscle characters (RCSA, fatty infiltration of lumbar muscle) and SP. We found that spondylolisthesis SP is positively related to fatty infiltration of lumbar paraspinal muscle. and is negatively associated with both side MU RCSAs. In the present study, an experimental study of natural convection in a partitioned 2D square enclosure has been carried out. The square enclosure consist of two adiabatic vertical walls and the upper cold and the lower hot walls. A partition is positioned perpendicularly at the center of the left vortical insulated wall. The PIV measurements were performed with the variations of Rayleigh number, partition length and inclination of the enclosure. The working fluid is water with Prandtl number of 6.996 at 20$\^{C}$. The captured images were analyzed by using a cross-correlation (two-frame/single-exposure) PIV method.
이단 원추형 오리피스를 지나는 압력장과 유동장에 관한 수치적 연구

The objective of the paper was to calculate the pressure drop and to investigate the recirculation region of the conical orifices used in Kwang-yang Iron & Steel Company. The flow field with water used as a working fluid was the turbulent flow for Reynolds number of 2$\times$10$^4$. The effective parameters fur the pressure drop and the recirculation region were the conical orifice\`s inclined angle ($\theta$) against the wall, the interval(S) between orifices, the relative angle of rotation($\alpha$) of the orifices, the shape of the orifice's hole(circle, rectangle, triangle) having the same area, the number(N) of the orifice's holes having the same mass flow rate, and the thickness(t) of the orifices. It was fecund that the shape of the orifice's hole, the number of the orifice's holes and the thickness of the orifice affected the total pressure drop a lot and that the conical orifice's inclined angle against the wall, the relative angle of rotation of the orifices, the number of the orifice's holes and the thickness of the orifices affected the center location of the recirculation region. The PISO algorithm with FLUENT code was employed to analyze the flow field.

Objectives This study aimed to assess the role of complex Korean medicinal treatment with Chuna manual therapy in two patients with chronic pain after posterior lumbar fusion surgery. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on 2 patients postoperatively based on their medical records. The surgery regions were verified using T2-weighted axial magnetic resonance imaging. Patients with chronic pain after spondylolisthesis posterior lumbar fusion surgery received complex Korean medicinal treatment with Chuna manual therapy during hospitalization. Numeric rating scale (NRS) in the degree of 0-10 and Oswestry disability index (ODI) were measured before and after treatment. Results Case 1 had an improved NRS score from 7 to 4, and Case 2 had an improved NRS score from 7 to 5. In addition, ODI score improved in both cases. Conclusions Complex Korean medicinal treatment with Chuna manual therapy is effective for relief from chronic pain after posterior lumbar fusion surgery.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of korean medicinal admission treatment for degenerative lumbar diseases with spondylolysis and analyze their radiological findings. Methods This study was performed on 25 cases' medical records of spondylolysis patients with both X-rays and MRI images. Their general characteristics, morphologies of intervertebral discs, grades of spondylolisthesis, grades of intervertebral foraminal stenosis were analyzed. The efficacy of treatment was evaluated by numeric pain rating scale (NPRS) changes and statistically assessed by paired t-test using program R Studio. Results After admission treatment, NPRS scores significantly decreased from 6.76±2.07 to 2.38±1.22 (p<0.01). Spondylolysis was associated with degenerative disc change and intervertebral foraminal stenosis at the same or adjacent vertebral level. In spondylolisthesis cases (76%), forward slippage occurred at the same level of spondylolysis in every case. Conclusions Spondylolysis could play a key role in the lumbar degenerative mechanism and korean medicinal admission treatment is effective on pain relief of degenerative lumbar diseases with spondylolysis. In this paper, lifetime estimation and failure mode of the long-term reliability for optical communication module in use of high speed optical access network are investigated. High temperature storage tests and accelerated life tests are used to long-term reliability. Accelerated aging test is carried out during 5,500 hour with the three accelerated aging conditions. Mean life of module is assumed to follow the Arrhenius relationship from the analysis of failure data for the accelerated aging conditions. Electric and chemical cause for the failure mechanism were mainly due to a overstress failure and a wearout failure.
상부 관절와순 전후방 파열(Superior Labrum tear from Anterior to Posterior)의 한의학적 치료에 대한 국내 연구 동향

Objectives The purpose of this review is to investigate the domestic trends of Korean Medicine treatments on superior labrum tear from anterior to posterior(SLAP). Methods We searched the studies on Korean Medicine treatments for SLAP by 3 Korean search engines or databases (NDSL, RISS, and OASIS). Appropriate articles were attained by the inclusion/exclusion criteria. Results 5 case reports were included. Acupuncture, Pharmacopuncture, Herbal medicines, Cupping therapy, Physical therapy, Moxibustion, Pharmacopuncture(deep region), Exercise, Chuna, Motion Style Acupuncture Treatment(MSAT) were used as interventions for SLAP. Decreased Shoulder Pain And Disability Index(SPADI) scores, Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and improved Range of motion(ROM) were reported by all 5 reports. Conclusions In this review, we analyzed the domestic trends of Korean Medicine treatments on SLAP. Although there were some limitations, we concluded complex Korean Medicine treatments could be an effective treatment for treating SLAP.

This study based upon theoretical contemplation has tried to analyze the composition of open school spaces of the elementary schools in Kwang-ju whose designs have been chosen by competition since 1990, and thereby to suggest both its problems and basic materials necessary for the construction of new type of school buildings. The results of this study are as follows: The school buildings are usually separated and arranged according to higher classes and lower classes, special classrooms and general classrooms, and classrooms and control offices. But there are usually pilots on the first floor, the other floors are connected directly and often there are arranged special rooms in connecting passages. School buildings, a gymnasium, and a play ground are common factors in every school. And there are small play grounds for lower class students or kindergarteners who have some difficulty in using play grounds, and these spaces are separated and arranged for higher class students, lower class students, and kindergarteners each. In many schools, the size of a unit classroom is the standard size of 67.5㎡. But it seems that a size of each unit classroom must be enlarged to utilize small spaces and to provide some spaces for open education.
