The present study was designed to evaluate laterality of brain function and information processing abnormalities in patients with schizophrenia. In neurophysiological field, there is particular interest in the P300 component of event related potentials being recorded during discriminative task. The subjects were composed of patients(N=24) with schizophrenia by Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-IV(DSM-IV, 1994) and normal controls(N=24). The auditory event-related potentials P300 were employed by "oddball paradigm". P300 latency and amplitude were determined by conventional method at 5 electrodes(Fz, Cz, Pz, T7, T8) after grand-averaging across all subjects. P300 amplitude of patients were smaller than those of controls across all electrodes. P300 latencies were delayed in patients with schizophrenia. There are no asymmetry and laterality in the both groups. P300 ERP, known as a measure reflecting brain cognitive function, could be useful in neuroscience including schizophrenia.
24MVA 몰드 변압기의 손실저감을 위한 Tie-Plate의 형상 최적설계 연구

This paper presents a method to reduce the stray loss of core Tie-Plate of distribution power transformer. The method combines a 3-dimensional FEM with PSO(Particle Swarm Optimization) algorithm to determine the shape of the Tie-Plate that minimizes eddy current and flux-leakage losses. To verify the method a 24MVA distribution(cast-resin) transformer was simulated using one objective function and two design variables with some constraints. The final optimized Tie-Plate has nine(3×3) slots of 10mm width, 15mm thickness and 25mm distance. After four iterations, the Tie-Plate loss was reduced to about 21 % of the original.

This study attempts to analyze the relationship between various job-related factors and the intent to turnover of employees working at different types of hospitals/clinics in urbon and rural areas. The data was compiled from 1,506 employees in 21 hospitals and 10 clinics located in Kyung-gi Do, Korea, using a self-administered questionnaire. Major findings are as follows : 1) The intent to turnover was higher for the employees of small hospitals located in rural areas. It was also higher when the employees were less than 30 in age, female, single, had not received college education, and had worked for 2-5 years in their hospitals. 2) An important factor affecting the intent to turnover was job satisfaction, which in turn had a strong correlation with the job itself(opportunity of utilizing abilities and skills, subjective value attached to the current job, sense of accomplishment) and had a rather weak correlation with salary, supervision, promotion and co-worker relationship. 3) In the analysis by job category, it was found that, besides job satisfaction, the intent to turnover was significantly affected by the job itself in case of administrative personnel and by the level of salary in case of nurses. 4) For a successful management of turnover, hospitals need to develop (a) programs for improving adaptive abilities of `new` employees(who have worked for less than 2years), and (b) for the other employees(who have worked for more than 2 years), strategies for enhancing job satisfaction by providing the environment where they can show their maximum abilities.
