Background: The relationship between latent tuberculosis and the use of certain biologics is well known, but the relationship between the test for latent tuberculosis results and psoriasis itself or systemic anti-psoriatic treatment (cyclosporine and methotrexate) has not been elucidated to date. Objective: To assess the influence of psoriasis and systemic anti-psoriatic treatment on results of the interferon-gamma release assay. Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 353 patients who were screened for latent tuberculosis before the use of medicines for moderate to severe psoriasis. The screening was based on results of the interferon-gamma release assay. The control group included 2,025 health care workers who were screened for latent tuberculosis during a general medical examination. Results: Interferon-gamma release assay was positive in 35.4% of the patients and 11.6% of the subjects from the control group. There was a statistically significant correlation between psoriasis and assay positivity (p<0.05). Among the patients, no statistically-relevant association regarding previous use of cyclosporine or methotrexate was found (cyclosporine: p=0.284, methotrexate: p=0.231). Furthermore, patients were divided into two groups according to treatment duration, i.e., shorter or longer than 6 months. There were no relevant differences in treatment duration (cyclosporine: p=0.243, methotrexate: p=0.743). Conclusion: This study revealed a higher prevalence of interferon-gamma release assay positivity in patients with psoriasis. However, conventional anti-psoriatic drugs, such as cyclosporine and methotrexate, showed no significant difference regarding the assay positivity. (Korean J Dermatol 2022;60(1):1∼6)

This paper addresses the way in which we can find where impulsive noise sources are. Specifically, we have an interest in the case that the signal is embedded in noise. We propose a signal processing method that can identify impulsive sources' location. The method is robust with respect to spatially distributed noise. This has been achieved by the modified beamforming method with regard to cepstrum domain is used. It is noteworthy that the cepstrum has the ability to detect periodic pulse signal in noise. Numerical simulation and experiments are performed to verify the method. Results show that the proposed technique is quite powerful for localizing the faults in noisy environments. The method also required less microphones than conventional beamforming method.

For last century, the role of preaching has been very tremendous in the growth and development in the Korean Church, as preachers. who had secured the rostrum during the period of development of the church, and their preaching, made today’s Korean church. However, in 2017, the historical time of the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation, we should think of the crisis in the Church and rostrum, because the narratives of growth and development in the short Korean Church history has been already tarnished, and the pathetic stories about the Church blamed by our society are heard now. The reality of today’s Church is too dangerous for attributing to the side effects of rapid growth. Though there have been diverse efforts to seek new changes and challenges under these situations, many people agree on that the start of changes should be from the rostrum. In order to suggest the direction for the Church in the new second century and to make Christians who will responsible for this world live more premature faithful, we need to change perception of the rostrum and preachers. In these times, the review on life of Rev. Sang-geun Lee, who always lived a servant of the word rightly according to the basic spirit of the Reformed Theology among the preachers who had gone through the era of the growth and development in the Korean Church, as a preacher, his theology of preaching, and preaching, might be a meaningful attempt to follow the Protestant Reformation of ‘ad fontes’. By studying Rev. Sang-geun Lee’s life of poverty like monk as a preacher and his preaching declared based on the Reformed Theology, we may establish newly an attitude of faith that we should recover today, and right directions of the theology. When powerful wind of secularism has broken the Church and the rostrums slowly, we did not resist against it but followed the flow, and as a result, today’s crisis might be a consequence without doubt. However, if we recognize our reality, recover precious spiritual assets from our predecessors of faith, and try to changes with bone-cutting efforts to retrieve our original positions, today’s crisis will be a new chance. In trying for these changes, Rev. Sang-geun Lee’s preaching, theology, and narratives of his live will play a role as a milestone of the Korean Church which is preparing for a new future.

The purpose of the research is to develop a device to prevent secondary contamination by particles removed in the cleaning process of small precision plastic lens injection molds. The particle capturing device consists of two-fluid jet injection inlet for cleaning and another inlet of atmospheric air to maintaining the cleaning effect and an outlet for inhale the particles by applying vacuum pressure. The optimal air intake size was 0.12L and the outer shape of the device was proposed to have an inclination of 45°. In addition, a baffle was installed between the injection and the suction port inside the device to maximize the cleaning and capturing effect. The optimal length of the baffle was evaluated by analyzing the flow and particle behavior. The length of the cylindrical shape of the baffle with a constant cross section is suitable for 1.8L, 2.4L, and 3L, and the optimal length for the conical shape of the baffle was evaluated to be 3L.
