The hot embossing process has been mentioned as one of major nanoreplication techniques. This is due to<br/> its simple process, low cost, high replication fidelity and relatively high throughput. As the initial step of<br/> quantitating the embossing process , simple parametric study about embossing time have been carried out<br/> using high-resolution masters which patterned by the DRIE process and laser machining. Under the various<br/> embossing time, the viscous flow of thin PMMA films into microcavities during compression force has been<br/> investigated. Also, a study about simulating the viscous flow during embossing process has planned and<br/> continuum scale FDM analysis was applied on this simulation. With currently available test data and<br/> condition, simple FDM analysis using FLOW3D was made attempt to match simulation and experiment.

There are many ways about straightening process of the micro wire, such as simple tension, roll forming and pulling as soon as direct/indirect heating. In this study, we have developed a novel wire straightener which uses the direct heating method (DHM) for straightening the micro wire. In order to avoid the surface oxidization, we supplied the inert gas(Ar) during the heating process and examined the effect of gas flow rate. And we evaluated the burr height at the end of the wire which used the shearing machines. From various experiments and analyses, we could obtain fine straightness(? 1㎛/1000㎛), roundness(<±2㎛ /100㎛) and minimized the burr height when the tension is 500~600gf and the current is about 1.5A.

Micro/nano patterns for optical concentration and diffusion have been studied in the various fields such as displays, optics, and sensors. Conventional micro patterns were continuous and linear shapes due to using linear-type light sources, however, recently non-continuous patterns have been applied as point sources are used for dot-type light sources such as LEDs and OLEDs. In this study, a hybrid machining technology combining an indentation machining method and an AAO process was developed for manufacturing the non-continuous micro patterns having nano patterns. First, mirror-like surfaces (Ra<20nm) of pure Aluminum substrates were obtained by optimizing cutting conditions. Then, The letter of ‘K’ consisting of the arrays of the micro patterns was manufactured by the indentation machining method which has a similar principle to indentation hardness testing. Finally, nano patterns were machined by AAO process on the micro patterns. Conclusively, a specific letter having nano-micro hybrid patterns was manufactured in this study.

In this paper, a three-dimensional computational fluid dynamic model of a proton exchange membrane fuel cell(PEMFC) with serpentine flow channel is presented. A steady state, single phase and isothermal numerical model has been established to investigate the influence of the GDL (Gas Diffusion Layer) parameters. The GDL is made of a porous material such as carbon cloth, carbon paper or metal wire mesh. For the simplicity, the GDL is modeled as a block of material having numerous pathways through which gaseous reactants and liquid water can pass. The porosity, permeability and thickness of the GDL, which are employed in the model parameters significantly affect the PEMFC performance at the high current region.
