The purpose of this research is to explain the characteristics of vibration for hydraulic turbine generator of shaft system. In design procedure, reviewing the dynamics of shaft vibration for Hydro generator including thrust and upper guide bearing, lower guide bearing, the shaft vibration has effect on an important dynamic characteristics of Francis Turbine Generator with vertical structure running at the rated speed 514rpm (8.57Hz) and the runaway speed. The main thrust of this work is to study the theoretical figures of hydro-generator with salient poles which is driven by hydraulic turbines running at lower speeds less than 1000rpm. Each pole is built thin silicon steel laminations of 0.35~0.5mm to 0.8mm thickness to reduce eddy current laminations. Low speeds are built with vertical shaft design which has suspended type where in the bearing is mounted above the rotor. So, this research is very useful for a practical designers and workers who are engaged in the shaft design for the development of the large hydro generator.

Dyeing has always had a pressing need for techniques that allow economical pretreatment for color removal in wastewater. The effectiveness of adsorption for color removal from dyeing wastwater has made it an ideal alternative to other expensive treatment options. This study deals with an investigation on four waste resources locally available in dyeing wastewater treatment for color removal. Peat, bentonite, slag and fly ash were utilized for this study and their performance evaluated against that of granular activated carbon. Color of dyeing wastewater was high removed in peat, bentonite and slag except for fly ash. In point of recycling, if waste resources substituted for a valuable adsorbent such as granular activated carbon, peat, bentonite and slag could look forward to an expected economical effect.

In order to study the status of medical service activities conducted by medical colleges in doctorless villages, the performance data of such activities of four medical colleges in Seoul, one medical college in Cholla Namdo, and another in Kyongsang Pukdo from July 22 to August 3, 1973 was analyzed, and the following conclusions have been reached : 1. During the summer of 1973, the six above medical colleges conducted medical service activities in doctorless villages from July 22 to August 3 and for an average period of 8 days. 2. The medical service teams of the six colleges consisted of 23 faculty members, 64 physicians (interns and residents), 474 medical students, and 30 others. The total member of personnel on the teams was thus 591. 3. The average number of students on the terms for faculty member was 21. 4. The students on the teams were broken down into 33.1 per cent for juniors in medical department, 19.2 per cent for sophomores in nursing department, 17.4 per cent for sophomores in medical department, 12.8 per cent for juniors in nursing department, 6.4 par cent for freshmen in medical department, 5.3 per cent for freshmen in nursing department, 3.4 per cent for seniors in medical department, and 2.4 per cent for seniors in nursing department. 5. The medical service teams visited six areas, mostly mountainous; one in Kyonggido, two in Kangwondo, one in Chungchong Pukdo, one it Cholla Namdo, and one in Kyongsang Pukdo. 6. The total population in the areas visited by the medical service teams was 149,059 persons, broken down into 74,173 males and 74,886 females. Of them, a total of 13,357 persons (6,290 males and 7,067 females) received medical care from the medical service teams. The ratio of beneficiaries of care to the total population was 9.0 per cent.7. The beneficiaries of medical care were broken down by age into 21.8 per cent for the age group of 0 to 9 years, 18.0 per cent for 10 to 19 years. 14.6 per cent for 40 to 49 years, 14.5 per cent for 30 to 39 years, 11.9 per cent for 50 to 59 years, 9.9 per cent for 60 years and above, and 9.3 per cent for 20 to 29 years. 8. Sicknesses were broken down into 17.9 per cent for diseases of digestive organs, 15.4 per cent for diseases of infants and children, 10.2 per cent for diseases of skin and connective tissue, 0.5 per cent for congenital deformity, 0.4 per cent for neoplasm, and 0.3 per cent for accident, poisoning and violence. 9. The experiences of the medical service teams were broken down into 30.4 per cent for medicine cost, 30.1 per cent for room and board, 14.7 per cent for transportation expenses, 12.0 per cent for reserve funds, 5.8 per cent for preparatory cost, 3.2 per cent for medical equipment cost, 1.9 per cent for academic research expenses, and 1.9 per cent for the cost of miscellaneous equipment. 10. The average expense per team member was 6,073.63. 11. Medicine cost constituted 33.6 per cent of the total expenses. 12. Medical cost per patient was 110.52. 13. During the activity period, the medical service teams treated 2,226 patients per day, and an average of three patients per team member daily.
