Laminar natural convection heat transfer from a hot body in a square enclosure has been studied for various center positions of a hot square at Grashof number $Gr=1.5{\times}10^5$, Prandtl number Pr=0.71 and dimensionless thermal conductivity $k_g/k_f=14710$. The natural convection at the center position of a hot square; $X_c$, $Y_c=0.5$, 0.2 shows the most strong and at $X_c$, $Y_c=0.5$, 0.7 the most weak. The total mean Nusselt number at $X_c$, $Y_c=0.5$, 0.2 was 7.4% higher than that at $X_c$, $Y_c=0.2$, 0.5. The total mean Nusselt number at $X_c$, $Y_c=0.5$, 0.7 was 5.0% lower than that at $X_c$, $Y_c=0.3$, 0.5.
단열벽체두께가 변화되는 밀폐공간에서 복사-자연대류열전달특성에 관한 연구

본 연구는 온돌공간으로 가정한 2차원 밀폐공간에서 단열벽체두께를 변화시켜 표면복사-자연대류 열전달특성에 대해 수치해석방법을 이용하여 고찰하였다. 복사열전달이 동반된 자연대류인 경우, 밑면의 평균 Nusselt수는 벽면방사율이 증가함에 따라 증가하고 벽체의 무차원두께가 감소함에 따라 증가되며 순수자연대류인 경우보다 큰 값을 나타낸다. 밑면의 평균 Nusselt수는 단열벽체의 두께를 감소시킴에 따라 복사열 전달을 동반하는 자연대류의 대류열전달량이 자연대류의 열전달량보다 다소 작은 값을 나타냈다. This study is investigated numerically on the heat transfer characteristics of surface radiation-natural convection interactions in a two dimensional enclosure assumed Ondol cavity. Mean Nusselt number of the bottom surface with surface radiation is increased by increasing wall emissivity and by decreasing dimensionless thickness of adiabatic wall and is greater than that without radiation. Mean Nusselt number of the bottom surface for convection only with surface radiation is slightly smaller than that without surface radiation with decrease dimensionless thickness of adiabatic wall.

Variable air volume(VAV) system designed for improving interior environmental control has steadily evolved over the last 20 years. Major advantage of VAV system is that VAV technology allows a single system to provide simultaneous heating and cooling without a seasonal changeover. Research is carried out in order to study the influence on the energy consumption and ventilation performance of two kinds of office building with a mixing ventilation system. Data required for performance evaluation in these building is obtained from the central monitoring station and by measurement.

A numerical study has been performed to investigate two dimensional natural convection heat transfer in a rectangular enclosure with heat sources of constant temperature at the bottom. Calculations were made for various dimensionless heat source lengths, W/L=0.1-0.5, and positions of heat sources at $Gr=2.57{\times}10^6$, Pr=0.71 and Ks/Kf=28.98. For various positions of heat sources, the maximum local Nusselt numbers generally show X=0.81-0.85 at the bottom and X=0.23 at the top. For various dimensionless heat source lengths, the maximum local Nusselt numbers at the bottom show W/L=0.4 for one heat source, W/L=0.2 for two heat sources with fixed centers, W/L=0.5 for two heat sources with moved centers. Finally the maximum heat transfer at the bottom exhibits in condition of W/L=0.4 for two heat sources with moved centers.

A case of rapidly grown, huge ovarian cyst in an 18-year old woman is presented with a brief review of literature. This tumor was measured 30x40x45 cm in size, and weighed 13kg. The pathologic diagnosis was mucinous cystadenoma, left ovary.
