Pulmonary sequestration is a rare congenital anomaly of the lung in which it is separately supplied from the aorta or one of its branches. Bilateral pulmonary sequestration is very rare, particularly in adults. In bilateral pulmonary sequestration, resection of both sides is usually recommended if both sides are infected and symptomatic. We report the case of a 37-year-old female patient with bilateral intralobar pulmonary sequestration treated by staged bilateral lower lobectomy.
미래성장동력 선정을 위한 새로운 방법론 모색: 한국미래기술지수의 개발을 중심으로

본 연구는 경제가 가진 성장의 한계를 극복하고 새로운 도약의 계기를 마련하기 위해 새로운 성장동력산업의 발굴의 중요성을 인식하고, 미래성장동력으로서의 잠재력을 평가하기 위한 수단으로 한국미래기술지수(Korea Future Technology Index: KOFTI)를 개발하였다. 한국미래기술지수는 미래성장동력의 선정과 관련한 선행연구의 문제점을 보완하여 미래 성장동력 발굴의 객관성과 신뢰성 제고에 기여할 수 있는 종합지수이다. 본 연구는 경제성, 미래전략성, 기술영향력이라는 세 개별지수를 통합하는 한국미래기술지수를 설계하고, 이의현장 적용성을 검증하기 위해 정부에서 추진 중인 신성장동력 사업의 62개 스타브랜드를 대상으로 실제 분석을 실시하여 13개 대표 스타브랜드를 도출하였다. This paper aims at developing a new index that represents the Korean new growth industries, which is named the Korea Future Technology Index(KOFTI). The KOFTI is designed to provide a reliable and econometric index based on which the Korean government searches for new growth engines. The KOFTI is composed of three individual indexes such as the Economic Impact Index, the Future Strategy Index, and the Technological Influence Index. The KOFTI is applied for 62 star brands, which have been promoted by the Korean government for the korean future industrial competitiveness. The top 13 leading industries are drawn from the calculation of the KOFTI for 62 star brands.

As the R&D capability of private sector increases, it is needed to change the role of the government from driving national R&D to supporting the private R&D. To rearrange the role of the government in R&D, this study focuses on analyzing R&D investment of the government and the private sector and tries to suggest policy implications. This research questions are as follows. 1) What is the optimal resource allocation between the governmnet and the private sector? 2) What are the effects of government R&D investment on private R&D investment? Are the effects of government R&D investment on the economic growth bigger than the private R&D investment? Is the government R&D investment crowding out the private R&D investment? 3) What are the effects of government R&D policy tools on private R&D investment? To answer these questions, we use the several analysis methodology such as portfolio analysis, econometric tools, survey of corporate recognition, and so on. Wrapping up the discussions, this research raised several policy implications. Firstly, the government has to raise up the efficiency of the government R&D. Secondly, the main areas of government R&D investment need to change from development technology to basic research. And the government has to try support small-meduim size enterprises(SMES), to make more highly vaule-added industry in our country. Thirdly, it is needed to change from the government led R&D system to market led R&D system. Fourthly, it is suggested the desirable technology innovation policies of the future growth engines.
