        The cyber-marketing in the insurance industry has appeared to be less active than our expectation, comparing with that in the other financial industry. This would be caused mainly by the characteristics of insurance products, such as long-term contract and complexity. So, the customers would hesitate to contract directly through internet even though there is such a merit as simple, economical and speedy contract. In this respect, we should diagnose the limits of cyber-marketing and re-set up its goal, and then make a complementary strategy for extending its role in insurance distribution channels. The aim of this work is to investigate the necessity such that why non-life insurance companies should determine a strategic model reflecting effectively on the changing needs of customers and respectively on the distinctiveness of individual insurance products.

        생명보험회사에 대한 만족도, 신뢰도, 충성도에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석

        The purpose of this paper is to analyse the factors influencing satisfaction, reliance, and loyalty to the life insurance companies. The factors are divided into two categories: the characteristics of life insurance companies and sellers. Factor analysis and multiple regression is employed. Two factors are found in the analysis of the characteristics of life insurance companies. Those are quality and social liability of life insurance companies. One factor are extracted from the analysis of the characteristics of sellers. We also find each one factor in the factor analysis of satisfaction, reliance, and loyalty. The findings are summarized as follows. Firstly, the role of sellers are very important for the three performance variables, namely satisfaction, reliance, and loyalty. Secondly, the factor for social liability of life insurance companies is statistically significant to the satisfaction performance. Finally, The three explaining variables are statistically significant to the reliance and loyalty performance.

        The cost efficiency analysis of Korean life insurance companies by data envelopment analysis

        We investigate the effect of introduction of the bancassurance system on cost efficiency in the Korean insurance industry between 1997 and 2012. Our estimation results indicate that introduction of this system contributed positively to efficiency of life insurance companies in Korea. Increase in a one standard deviation of bancassurance increases cost efficiency by 0.08 which is equivalent to 12 percent of mean cost efficiency. Recognising that the bancassurance system is a relatively new concept, our results indicate that the bancassurance system can be a policy measure to improve productivity in an emerging insurance market. The results illustrate that positive effects have accrued particularly to medium-sized companies and domestic companies, contrary to the prevailing perception that increased competition through bancassurance is more beneficial to large companies and foreign companies.

        Recently the stable electric power supply is threaten by the rapid development of all the industries consuming a lot of electric power, thus KEPCO is trying to establish the countermeasures to cope with this circumstance of uprising power consumption by running the efficient and flexible 12-month s price policy for the base price and raisin the electric power price remarkably in peak power consumption period to suppress the maximal power demand of consumers. To resolve these problems, this study propose the method calculating hourly CBL based on the hourly amount at non-event using the pattern of the amount of power consumption and propose the operation method of DR Program.

        로버스트 신뢰도모형

        This paper attempts to introduce robust methods into the area of credibility. In many actuarial applications excess claims(outliers) which are much bigger than ordinary claims do occur. Excess claims lead to an unsatisfactory behavior of credibility estimators. We suggest in this paper to use robust methods in order to obtain better estimators. The Huber’s M-estimator is a well-known robust estimator in sense of distributional robustness. Also, we suggest the use of the Gini`s mean difference for the estimation of the σ`. These robust estimators are thus good candidates for dealing with the excess claims in credibility. Our estimator performs well if there are outlying claims and the number of years available is not very small. Therefore, this study aims to look at the credibility estimator based on the robust statistics.

        아웃바운드 콜센터 최적화를 위한 사례연구

        Recently, the rapid development of internet and information technology has led to rapid changes in many industries. One of the most rapidly developing industries is the call centers. Almost all public institutions, financial institutions including insurance companies, and shopping malls, many call center staffs are proceeding with the consultation. However, lack of call center staffs is leading to a lot of customers complaints. The function of outbound call centers such as promotion and sale of products is also arising some problems due to insufficient number of consulting staffs. In this study, we propose the call center model for maximizing the rate of call connection time and suggest the best way of call centers model to be the channel distributions using the data mining techniques.

        생존분석을 이용한 입원기간 추정방법에 관한 연구

        최근 국민들의 생활수준의 향상과 더불어 건강에 대한 관심이 높아졌다. 이를 반영하듯 보험사의 질병 및 상해를 담보하는 보험의 판매가 증대되고 있으며 이러한 추세는 계속될 것으로 예상된다. 본고는 건강보험(health insurance)의 보험수리적 특성을 개괄적으로 살피고, 현재 사용 중인 건강보험의 기초율 중 현재 입원기간의 추정방법은 퇴원환자의 특성을 고려하지 못한 점을 지적하였다. 그리고 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 방안으로 생존분석(survival analysis)을 이용한 입원기간 산출기법을 제시하였다. 생존분석은 입원기간 산출뿐만 아니라 사망률 및 입원율의 비곤 유지율 추정, 부도예측 모형 등 보험분야에 다양하게 적용할 수 있으며, 향후 동 분석방법의 사용을 점차 증가할 것으로 예상된다. Recently, as the standard of living rises, people were getting more concerned with health. To meet this need of the insured, insurers have developed health insurance products raising the volume of health insurance products in their portfolio. This trend will continue for a while. This paper points out an actuarial problem of the health insurance in estimating the duration of hospitalization. It suggests the application of survival analysis to estimate the duration of hospitalization. The survival analysis can be applied to many areas in insurance industry, such as mortality, hospitalization, persistency rate, default rate etc. The applications of survival analysis in insurance industry are expected to increase in the future.

        국민연금 장애발생률 추정에 관한 연구

        There are a lot of difficulties in forecasting the actual disability-rate movements. This is mainly because that projecting disability rates into the future and the historical pattern of disability changes in the past would not commonly demonstrate the future due to the rapid development of bio-technology as well as the permanent education on the safety accident. Considering this fact of disability on the move, we confine our research to constructing the raw disability table for disabled pensioners using the projection method adopted generally in demographic statistics. The table derived in this paper would be directly applicable to National Pension Scheme in Korea, even after modifying through graduation process. 현실적인 장애발생률 추정에는 많은 어려움이 있다. 그 이유는 지속적인 안전교육과 생명공학의 급속한 발전으로 인하여 미래의 장애발생률 추계와 과거 장애발생률 변화의 형태를 일반적으로 표현하기 쉽지 않기 때문이다. 본 연구는 장애발생률의 변화를 고려하여 인구통계학적 기법에서 사용되는 추정의 방법을 사용하여 국민연금 장애발생률을 추정하고자 한다. 본 연구에서 제시된 국민연금 장애발생률은 보정 후의 발생률이다.
