들깨 및 메밀 건경의 물 추출액을 피 및 배추에 처리하여 발아 및 초기생장의 억제 양상을 본 결과 1. 두가지 추출액 모두 피와 배추의 발아를 억제하였으며 메밀 추출액이 들깨 추출액보다 심하였고 피보다는 배추에 억제효과가 켰다. 2. 발아후 초기 생장도 위와 같은 경향이나 발아억제보다는 생장 억제 효과가 약간 적은 영향이었다. 3. 이들 추출액은 지상부 생장보다는 뿌리 생장에 피해를 더 주는 경향이며 들깨 추출액보다 메밀 추출액이 더 심한 편이었다. The present study was conducted to investigate the effects of stem extracts from perilla and buckwheat on the germination and seedling growth of barnyard grass and chinese cabbage. The major results obtained are as follows. The stem extracts showed inhibiting effects on seed germination. The degree of inhibition was much higher with the extracts of perilla than those of buckwheat and more sensitive to chinese cabbage than barnyard grass. The trends of inhibition effects on seedling growth were the same as in the seed germination with lower degree. The roots were more sensitive to the extracts than the tops with higher degree with buckwheat extracts.

Peanut seeds are characterized by high oils and proteins with good quality, and are utilized as an edible oil source and a protein-rich food products. The end products, being peanut butter, salted seed, confections, roasting stock and other by-products are favored in world-wide because of their unique roasted peanut flavor. As with many other foods, interest in the composition and chemistry of peanut is largely a result of thier use as human food. Thus, a more complete knowledge of thier chemical and food quality and flavor properties is desired. Literatures are reviewed mainly focucing on the physicochemical properties and nutritional quality of oil, protein and flavor in peanuts. Chemical properties of protein and oil, and volatile flavor component in peanut seeds are studied extensively in view point of chemical and food nutritional value. But in crop base, the synthesis and genetic studies of the chemicals could not provide valuable informations on the breeding for quality improvement. Some essential amino acids are limiting in peanut seeds and the tocopherols are very important in oil stability and for dietary adequacy ratio in high linoleic acid peanut oil, but it is thought to be quite difficult to improve by breeding technique as their lack information of gene actions. However, the selections of high protein and oil, and some essential amino acids and linoleic acid rich genotypes could be helpful for the quality improving. Research studies are also needed to elucidate the relationships between flavor components and consumer perception of peanut flavor.

To reexamine taxonomic status of endemic Mogera wogura coreana from Korea, we first obtained partial 12S rRNA sequences (893 bp) and complete cytochrome b gene sequences (1140 bp) of this subspecies, and these sequences and partial cytochrome b sequences (402 bp) were compared to the corresponding haplotypes of M. wogura from East Asia, obtained from GenBank. The one of three 12S rRNA haplotypes in M. w. coreana was identical to one 12S rRNA haplotype of M. w. robusta from East Asia: 10 complete and 13 partial cytochrome b haplotypes of M. w. coreana formed a single clade with one complete and four partial cytochrome b haplotypes of M. w. robusta,respectively. We considered that M. w. coreana from Korea is an endemic subspecies with only morphological differences, although it is necessary to reexamine the subspecies status of M. w. coreana. Additionally, in the 12S rRNA and complete cytochrome b sequences, M. wogura from Japan was distinct from the two continental subspecies of M. w. coreana and M. w. robusta with average distances of 1.76 and 5.65%, respectively; insular M. wogura, with within-group distances of 2.09 and 4.38%, respectively, was also genetically more divergent than the mainland M. wogura, with within-group distances of 0.08 and 0.57%, respectively. Thus, we considered that insular M. wogura of Japan dispersed into neighboring East Asian continent, which is opposite to the traditional hypothesis on the origin of Japanese M. wogura.
땅콩 종실의 크기와 자엽절단정도가 발아 및 수량에 미치는 영향

땅콩품종에 대한 입중의 변이를 조사하였으며, 동일품종에서의 종자크기에 따른 발아력, 생육 및 수량을 비교하는 한편 자엽을 인위적으로 절단, 조절했을 때의 생육과 수량에 대한 반응을 검토하였다. 1. 입중의 변이는 소립품종보다 대립종에서 크게 나타났으며, 2. Cold test에 의한 발아시험결과 종자가 작을수록 발아율이 낮았으며 포장출아율도 떨어졌다. 3. 종자크기에 따른 후기생육의 차이는 없었으나 소립품종의 경우는 종자가 큰 것을 파종했을 때 수량이 많았다. 4. 자엽의 일부를 절단하였을 때는 개화성기의 생육이 정상종자보다 저조했으나 협비대기이후에는 차이가 없었다. 5. 소립품종에서는 자엽절단이 수량을 감소시키나대립종에서는 정상립과 차이가 없었다. Distributions of seed weight were investigated with different seed sized peanut varieties planted at the same time, and germination and field emergence percentage, growth, and seed yield were compared among three seed sizes of four peanut genotypes. Field performance also was carried out to evaluate the effects of cotyledon removal on growth and yields in field with large and small seed-sized peanut varieties. The variation of seed weight of large seed-sized was wider than small seed-sized peanut variety. The larger seed showed the higher percent germination after 3 days cold treatment in laboratary and field emergence. The growth was not different with their sizes, while seed yield was related to seed size in small seed-sized genotypes. The growth of peanut such as main stem, internodes, and total branches was affected significantly by cotyledon removal, although the differences were not obvious after podding time, and in small seed-sized variety Oltangkong, the yields was decreased by cotyledon removal but not in large seed-sized variety.
