자기 생성 시각 피드백의 시간 지연 제시 조건이 말더듬인의 구어 행동에 미치는 영향

이 연구는 자기 생성 시각 피드백의 시간 지연 제시 조건이 말더듬인의 구어 행동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 알아보기 위해 실시하였다. 이를 위해 심한정도가 중도 이상인 말더듬 성인 11명을 대상으로 자기 생성 시각 피드백을 미제시한 상황, 거울을 통해 제시한 상황, 30fps로 제시한 상황, 5fps로 제시한 상황 등의 네 가지 조건에서 독백과 대화 과업에서의 발화 샘플을 수집하였다. 각 조건에서 수집한 구어 샘플을 말더듬 빈도, 구어 속도, 말더듬 형태로 나누어 분석하고 비교하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자기 생성 시각 피드백을 제시한 상황이 미제시한 상황보다 말더듬 빈도가 유의하게 감소되는 것으로 나타났으며, 시각 피드백 제시 상황 사이에 유의한 차이는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자기 생성 시각 피드백을 제시한 상황이 미제시한 상황보다 구어 속도가 유의하게 감소되는 것으로 나타났으 며, 특히 5fps로 시각 피드백을 제시한 상황에서 구어 속도가 유의하게 감소되는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 자기 생성 시각 피드백의 시간 지연 제시 조건이 말더듬 형태를 덜 심한 형태로 변화시키는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과들을 고려해 보면, 자기 생성 피드백의 시간 지연 제시 조건이 구어 표현 방식을 변화시키는 기능을 하기 때문에 성인 말더듬인의 치료에 유용한 방법이라고 결론내릴 수 있다. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of time-delayed selfgenerated visual feedback on speech behaviors. Eleven adults suffering from stuttering greater than medium severity were examine under four different conditions. Their speech patterns were recorded during monologue and conversation. The frequency of stuttering, the speed of speech, and the patterns of stuttering were then analyzed. The findings were as below. First, The frequency of stuttering was significantly decreased when provided self-generated visual feedback. however, the method or frequency of visual feedback didn’t have a signigicant effect on the frequency of stuttering. second, the speed of speech was decreased when provided selfgenerate visual feedback. There was a significant decrease in the speed when the visual feedback was provided 5times/second. Third, when time-delayed self-generated visual feedback was provided, the severity of stuttering type was decreased. Form these findings, it was concluded that time-delayed self-generated visual feedback changed the speech patterns. Thus, it would be effective in the treatment of adults suffering from stuttering.

This investigation is concerned with the development of articulation skills in children aged three to six years. The subjects were randomly selected from 430 children enrolled it four day care nursery schools in Daegu. An articulation evaluation for 19 Korean consonants was administered to 239 children (124 boys, 115 girls). The purposes of this inuestigation were as follows. 1. To investigate age differences in articulation development 2. To investigate sex differences in articulation development. 3. To investigate the pattern of articulation errors by consonant position, place of articulation, manner of articulation, developmental order, and pattern of substitutions, omissitions, and distortions. 4. To determine the need far speech therapy services. The results of this investigation were as follows. 1. There was no significant difference in consonant errors between ratings by 9 nursery school teachers and the senior auther. 2. There was no significant difference in articulation scores between boys and girls. 3. As chronological age increased, articulation errors decreased, especially between the ages of 4 and 5. 4. Distortions were the most frequently observed error. followed by substitutions and omissions. The developmental pattern of consonants appeared to be from omission to substitution to distortion to normal articulation. 5. According to consonant position, correct production of initial consonants was achieved before correct articulation of final consonants. Correct production of medical consonants was mastered later than the other two positions. 6. Correct articulation of nasal consonants was achieved before production of fricatives. Most fricatives were found to develop between the ages of 3 and 4, while other consonant types appeared to develop between the ages of 4 and 5. 7. Correct articulation of bilabial and glottal consonants was achieved before 3 years of age, but palatal consonants were not developed until after 5 years of age. 8. There was no significant pattern of kinds of conconant substitutions although there was a tendency for bilabial to be substituted for bilabial plosives. 9. The results appear to indicate that ages 4 and 5 are important in the development of articulation skills. Conclusions indicate that children presenting with articulation errors after age five, may not spontaneously develop normal articulation and should be considered for speech therapy services.
청각인지 능력을 통한 언어장애 아동의 진단에 관한 연구

A trial test of auditory-perceptual skill was administered to 659 chilren aged from 4 years to 12 years old who live in Taegu area. The test based on the Test of Auditory-Perceptual Skill by Morrison F. Gardner in 1985. The results show that there is no significant difference between male and female, but there is significant difference by ages. The scores are higher by age gwows. There are also significant correlations with age and the subtests. The percentile scores are shown to give a norm to diagnosis or screen the speech handicapped children. The conclution obtained from the results that this test can be used as a screening and diagnostic test to know the degree of auditory-perceptual skills.
