Hakpo Yang Paeng-son was removed from his government post and exiled for twenty-seven years. During the exile, he educated his children, wrote poetry of rare beauty, and engaged in painting in the literary artist style. In an examination of his existing works of art, it was found, first, that they represented yearning and remorse. His poetry reflected yearning for fellow scholars and remorse and a sense of shame caused by the thinking that he was indigent. Secondly, inner resources and romanticism were frequently expressed in his poetry. Despite continuous criticism from political opponents, he was able to be calm thanks to his education at Hakpodang, his cultural and artistic exchanges with fellow scholars, and his hobby of painting. Thirdly, his poetry had various elements of painting. In particular, he was good at educational poetry, and his educational poetry was strongly directed to a fairyland. His poetry and painting were related to construction of a Utopia.

Species composition of fish in the shallow water at Daecheon beach was determined using monthly beach seine samples collected from April 2010 to March 2011. These data were compared with the previous data, one just after reclamation in 1984–1985, and the other in 1995–96, in order to assess the post-reclamation impact of the environmental change on the fish assemblage. A total of 30 species from 1,464 individuals with biomass of 17,808 g were identified. Dominant species in the number of individuals were Chelon haematocheilus (49.3%), Takifugu niphobles (13.7%) and Paralichthys olivaceus (10.0%). Among pelagic fish, migrant juvenile fish such as Sardinella zunasi and Thryssa kammalensis were abundantly collected in 1984–85, but the catch amount was gradually decreased as time untill only few pelagic fish were collected in 2010–2011. The benthic fish were most abundant in 1984–1985 among habitat groups, and Favonigobius gymnauchen and Kareius bicoloratus were the top two predominants. Species composition of benthic fish did not exhibited drastic changes in 1995–1996, but both the abundance decline and the species composition change was evident in 2010–2011. Among the semi-benthic fish from 1984–1985 samples, Sillago japonica and Konosirus punctatus predominated. Species composition was slightly changed in 1995–1996, but significant changes were met in 2010–2011 with the two predominats, Chelon haematocheilus and Takifufuniphobles. These changes in fish species composition may reflect the post-reclamation effect of the impaired water quality and the accumulation of organic rich fine sediments.
비목나무(Lindera erythrocarpa) 잎으로부터 항진균성 활성물질의 분리

비목나무 잎의 메탄올 추출물을 n-hexane, ethylacetate, n-butanol, $H_2O$으로 순차적으로 용매분획하였다. Ethylacetate 분획으로부터 silica gel chromatography를 반복하고 재결정하여 활성물질을 분리 정제하였다. 화합물은 NMR과 MS의 기기분석 결과 methyllucidone의 입체이성질체 혼합물로 구조결정 되었다. 이 혼합물은 밀 붉은녹병에 대하여 $50\;{\mu}g/ml$에서 85%의 방제효과를 나타내었다. Methanol extract obtained from Lindera erythocarpa leaves was successively fractionated with n-hexane, ethylacetate, n-butanol, and $H_2O$. From ethylacetate fraction, an active fraction was isolated through repeated silica gel column chromatography and recrystallization, and was identified as a stereoisomer complex of methyllucidone by MS and MMR analyses. The complex showed 85% antifungal activity at 50 {\mu}g/ml$ against the disease wheat leaf rust.
