Manufacturing is characterized by increasing product variety and technical complexity, decreasing levels of demand, expanding global competition and declining profitability of organizations. To survive in such a complex environment, development of the automatic design system into design and manufacturing can be introduced to increase the flexibility and adaptability to markets. This paper presents the development of an automatic water-gate design system that composed of a main program and three modules, and was programmed by AutoLISP language under AutoCAD system. The devel-oped system is capable of generating water-gate design automatically according to input date as customer is requirement.

We have analyzed 2,080 patients who were admitted to the ICU for intensive care during a period of 11 years from April, 1965, when the ICU was opened, to December, 1975. The results are as follows: l. In 11 years, the total number of patients was 2,080 which was 2.5% of 84,933 patients who were admitted to NMC. Among them, operative cases were 724 (35%) and nonoperative were 1, 356(65%). 2. Male patients were more than fomale Patients (1. 3: l. ) 3. In age groups, the 20 decade had the highest number. 4. The number of patients from Internal Medicine Dept, was highest. 5. Total occupied bed days were 7,497 and majority of patient were in less than 3. 6 days. 6. The patients from the medical departement have gradpqliy decreased, but from the surgical department thay howed inereased pattern. 7. Drug intoxication was the commonest disease among patients. 8. Total mortality rate was 45%, and the highest mortality rate occurred in 30-39 age group.
Semiparametric maximum likelihood estimation of stochastic frontier model with errors-in-variables

This paper presents a new technique to analyze a stochastic frontier model when covariates are incorporated with measurement errors. We propose a semiparametric mixture likelihood method to estimate the stochastic frontier model which is free from any erroneous specification of the distribution of latent covariates. Some numerical studies including a real data analysis were done, which highly support the proposed approach.
Adaptive robust regression with continuous Gaussian scale mixture errors

Model based regression analysis always requires a certain choice of models which typically specifies the behavior of regression errors. The normal distribution is the most common choice for this purpose, but the estimator under normality is known to be too sensitive to outliers. As an alternative, heavy tailed distributions such as t distributions have been suggested. Though this choice can reduce the sensitivity to outliers, it also requires the choice of distributions and tuning parameters for practical use. In this paper, we propose a class of continuous Gaussian scale mixtures for the error distribution that contains most symmetric unimodal probability distributions including normal, t, Laplace, and stable distributions. With this quite flexible class of error distributions, we provide the asymptotic property and robust property of the proposed method, and show its successes along with numerical examples.
