DEVELOPMENT OF 2.8-GHZ SOLAR FLUX RECEIVERS

We report the development of solar flux receivers operating at 2.8 GHz to monitor solar radio activity. Radio waves from the sun are amplified, filtered, and then transmitted to a power meter sensor without frequency down-conversion. To measure solar flux, a calibration scheme is designed with a noise source, an ambient load, and a hot load at 100$\;^{\circ}$C. The receiver is attached to a 1.8 m parabolic antenna in Icheon, owned by National Radio Research Agency, and observation is being conducted during day time on a daily basis. We compare the solar fluxes measured for last seven months with solar fluxes obtained by DRAO in Penticton, Canada, and by the Hiraiso solar observatory in Japan, and finally establish equations to convert observed flux to the so-called Penticton flux with an accuracy better than 3.2 sfu.

실용적 임상연구에 대한 이해와 적용을 위한 연구 사례 분석

The use of acupuncutre has been increased worldwide, and large number of researches on acupuncture with improved quality has been conducted. Nevertheless, results of acupuncture treatment in those research tend to show mixed results, while many patients continuously seek acupuncture treatment as an adjuvant or alternatives for their health. Researchers and clinicians relevant to acupuncture are faced at this problematic discrepancy between the results of acupuncture in clinical trial including an randomized controlled trial and those of day-to-day clinical practice. The methodology of pragmatic clinical trial seems to be one of the promising research tools administering this problem especially in the area of complementary alternative medicine and traditional Korean medicine. In this study we first reviewed articles on the pragmatic clinical trial, summarized the essential concepts of ‘explanatory’ clinical trial ‘pragmatic’ clinical trial and then presented recent recommendations and arguments on this issue. We also analyzed and compared two similar pragmatic clinical trial protocols to show the readers the complexity of research designing. We hope more researchers in traditional Korean medicine will be interested in the methodology of pragmatic clinical trials and this study will serve to produce various high-quality clinical trials.

The objective of this research was to investigate determinants affecting the real estate holding ratio of firms through linear and non-linear panel analysis. For the empirical analysis, a sample of 272 firms were selected based on a suitable balanced panel data analysis for eight years from 2010 to 2017 using a financial statement database provided by Fn-Guide. Linear and non-linear panel analysis were performed using the sample to examine descriptive analysis, correlation analysis for each variable, and association between corporate governance and the real estate holding ratio. The real estate holding ratio was statistically significant only for institutional investor share ratio, size, return on assets, and growth ratio by linear panel analysis. In addition, major stockholder share ratio, foreign investor share ratio, return on assets, research & development ratio, and free cash flow were presented as a reverse U shape, and leverage rate was displayed as a U shape in the non-linear panel analysis. And the relationship between the real estate holding ratio compared to the results using the linear panel analysis could be interpreted differently, since there were significant results for all variables except outside directors ratio and advertisement ratio in the non-linear panel analysis. 본 연구는 기업의 부동산 보유비율에 미치는 결정요인을 선형패널분석과 비선형패널분석을 통하여 규명하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 실증적 분석에서, 표본은 Fn-Guide에서 제공하는 재무제표 데이터베이스를 이용하여 2010년부터 균형패널자료분석에 적합한 272개 기업의 8년간 패널자료를 대상으로 분석하였다. 이들 표본을 대상으로 표본의 기술적 분석, 각 변수의 상관분석, 그리고 기업지배구조와 부동산 보유비율의 상호관련성을 검증하기 위하여 선형패널분석과 비선형패널분석을 실시하였다. 선형패널분석에서는 기관투자자 지분율, 기업규모, 총자산순이익률, 그리고 매출액증가율만이 부동산 보유비율에 유의한 영향을 미치고 있다. 비선형패널분석에서는 대주주 지분율, 외국인투자자 지분율, 총자산순이익률, 연구개발비비율, 그리고 잉여현금흐름비율이 역 U자 형태를 취하고 있으며, 부채비율은 U자 형태를 취하고 있다. 제곱항이 제거된 변수에서는 선형패널분석 결과와 비슷하였으며, 제곱항이 유의한 변수는 더 많은 정보를 제공하여 유의한 해석이 가능하였다. 결과적으로 비선형에서는 사외이사비율과 광고선전비 비율을 제외한 모든 변수들에 대하여 유의한 해석이 가능하여 부동산 보유비율과 관계를 선형패널분석에서의 결과와 다른 해석을 할 수 있다.

본 논문은 지각의 문제를 탐구하기 위해 메를로-퐁티가 『행동의 구조』에서 해명하고 있는 자연과 의식에 관한 논문이다. 자연에 대한 그의 해석은 후기 이론에서 중심을 이루는 "살" 개념의 근거를 제시한다. 우선 메를로-퐁티는 『행동의 구조』에서 물질, 생명, 정신을 위계적으로 내재된 게슈탈트로 서술한다. 인간 몸에 통일되어 있는 세 가지 질서에 의한 형태들은 변증법적으로 통일되어 있다는 것이다. 그러나 그는 게슈탈트 이론이 본래는 유심론 대 유물론이라는 실체주의 범위 내에서의 대립관계를 넘어섬으로써 새로운 존재론을 개척할 것으로 기대했지만, 결국에는 유물론적인 관점에서 벗어나지 못했다는 점을 비난하면서 자신만의 고유한 방식으로 인간 행동의 의미에 대한 논의를 펼친다. 이 고유한 방식이 인간적 변증법이다. 또한 메를로-퐁티는 우리의 몸을 각 음표가 의미를 내포한 통일체(unite)의 존재로서 있는 심포니와 비교한다. 세 질서를 포함한 이 통일체에 대한 관심은 지각의 문제로 연결된다. 이 논문은 『지각의 현상학』의 토대를 이루는 인간 행동의 구조에 대한 메를로-퐁티의 치밀한 연구를 『행동의 구조』 내에서 고찰한 것이며, 베토벤과 말러의 음악을 예로 들어 게슈탈트 형태와 예술작품의 관계를 연구한 논문이다. 또한 그의 철학 이론의 중심을 이루고 있는 "살"이란 개념이 결코 추상적인 것이 아니고 구체적인 논증을 할 수 있는 확고한 개념이라는 것을 주장하기 위한 첫걸음이다. This study examines the relation between the human and the nature, investigated in The Structure of Behavior of Merleau-Ponty. He may not be considered as a nature philosopher, however his idea about the nature suggests the notion of flesh which is the main stream of his later researches. Most of all, Merleau-Ponty describes the matter, life and mind in The Structure of Behavior as a hierarchically nested gestalt. The forms established by three orders in human body are integrated dialectically. But he argued that the gestalt theories fails to develop into a new ontology which would overcome the opposition relation between spiritualism vs materialism characterized within the substantialism, therefore gestalt theories could not get over from the materialism perspectives. So he developed the meaning of human behavior in his particular way, it is so called the humanistic dialectic. Mearleau-Ponty also compares our body with the orchestra symphony in unity which each scale represents meaning. His interest about the unity involving three orders is directly connected to the issues about perceptions. This study investigates Merleau-Ponty's precise research about the structure of human behavior discussed in Structure of Behaviors which was the foundation of Phenomenology of Perception, and also this study demonstrates the relation between gestalt forms and music arts with the examples of Beethoven and Mahler's pieces. The notion of flesh which is the main idea of Merleau-Ponty's theories, is not abstract at all and this study is the first step which shows his idea of flesh can be concretely demonstrated.
