        Facile Synthesis of Ag/AgCl Grafted AgBi(MoO4)2 with Enhanced Photocatalytic Performance Under Visible Light

        Silver nanoparticles (NPs) and related semiconductors are a family of very important and widely applied photocatalysts. However, the preparation of high stability and activity of this photocatalyst is still a challenge. In this work, we report a stable Ag/AgCl/AgBi(MoO4)2 heterojunction photocatalyst fabricated via a simple in situ anion-exchange reaction followed by the photoreduction treatment. In the treatment of tetracycline (TC) wastewater under visible light, the AC-0.4 sample (prepared with 0.4 mmol KCl) exhibits the significantly improved activity (degradation ratio, DR of 71.3%) compared with the pristine AgBi(MoO4)2 (30% DR) and Ag/AgCl sample (synthesized by the photoreduction of AgCl) (37% DR) under identical experimental conditions. This activity promotion is from the fast interfacial electron transfer between the heterojunction phases of AgCl/AgBi(MoO4)2 and the SPR effect of Ag NPs. After five successive recycles, the AC-0.4 sample still maintains good stability and activity for TC degradation, which shows a great potential to be used in practical application. Through the ESR and controlled scavenged experiments, we found the · OH and · O- 2 are the major reactive intermediate species in the TC photodegradation reaction. Our work provides a new insight into the synthesis of stable and high efficient Ag-based heterojunction photocatalysts for the application of wastewater treatment.

        The Impact of Government Development Policy on Land Investment and Land Price: Evidences from Linyi

        토지는 중국 정부의 중요한 자원이다. 부동산 토지 개발은 도시경제 발전의 중요한 부분이다. 이 논문은 중국 임기시를 중심으로 정부 개발 정책이 토지개발 및 토지 가격에 어떤 영향을 주는지 연구하였다. 정부는 도시계획, 신도시 개발, 경제 개발 특별구 설립하는 여러 가지 개발 정책을 통해서 토지개발 및 토지가격에 큰 영향을 준다. 이 논문은 린이 시에 있는 196개 토지개발 프로젝트과 관련 있는 데이터를 수집하였다. 수집한 프로젝트들은 세 가지 지역에 위치한다(린이시의 옛 구역, 신도시 지역, 경제 개발 특별구). 논문에 활용한 데이터는 개발토지의 투자액, 토지가격, 토지면적, 건설면적, 건설밀도, 토지위치 등이다. 부동산 개발의 투자액 및 토지가격은 종속변수로서 회귀 모형을 만든다. 토지개발 및 토지가격에 대한 영향 변수를 분석한다. 정부 개발 정책은 토지개발 및 토지가격에 미치는 영향의 합리성을 찾아서 향후의 개발 정책에 반영할 수 있는 의견을 제공할 수 있다. Land is key natural resource that Chinese government actually owns. Real estate and land development have played an important part in China’s urban development and economic development. The Chinese local governments’ land development policies can mainly be characterized as the establishment of economic development zones and the development of new towns. Given the great importance of these measures, we can expect that these policies can generate noticeable impacts on land development and land price. However, little research has explored these impacts empirically. Using the data collected from land development projects of three districts in Linyi city—old town, new town, economic development zone, this paper attempts to investigate the impact of government development policy on land development and land price. This research chooses investment amount and land price as dependent variables. The multiple regression results demonstrate that the local government’s land Development policies can affect land investment size and land price significantly. As we have noticed, the target of government development policy is to make use of urban land resources more scientifically and efficiently. Based on my empirical analysis, some useful insights can be provided for improving our understanding concerning the effects of these government land development policies.

        Influence of Sleeve Material and Sleeve Composite Structure on Performance of High-Speed Permanent Magnet Starter-Generator for Micro-Gas Turbine

        When the high-speed permanent magnet starter-generator (PMSG) is operating, the permanent magnets will be aff ected by high centrifugal forces. It is necessary to add a sleeve to protect the rotor and interference fi t with the permanent magnet. However, the performance of the high-speed PMSG will be signifi cantly infl uenced by the electromagnetic characteristics of the sleeve material. In this paper, a high-speed permanent magnet starter-generator for the micro-gas turbine is used as an example, and the two-dimensional fi nite element model is established. The correctness of the model is verifi ed by comparing the experimental data with the calculated data. Taking 10,000 r/min as the ignition speed, the diff erences of motor starting performances when using diff erent sleeve materials are compared. Secondly, decoupling the complex coupling torque in the starting process, the infl uence of material electromagnetic characteristics on the asynchronous torque and braking torque is determined, and the infl uence mechanism of material electromagnetic characteristics on the torque characteristics of highspeed PMSG is revealed. In addition, the eff ects of the sleeve materials on the output performance and loss of the high-speed PMSG are determined, and infl uence mechanism is revealed. On the basis, a sleeve multiplexing scheme is proposed to improve the starting performance while reducing the eddy current losses in the generating state. The results of the study provide reference and theoretical value for the optimization of high-speed permanent magnet starter-generator.

        Deep Learning: High-quality Imaging through Multicore Fiber

        Imaging through multicore fiber (MCF) is of great significance in the biomedical domain. Although several techniques have been developed to image an object from a signal passing through MCF, these methods are strongly dependent on the surroundings, such as vibration and the temperature fluctuation of the fiber’s environment. In this paper, we apply a new, strong technique called deep learning to reconstruct the phase image through a MCF in which each core is multimode. To evaluate the network, we employ the binary cross-entropy as the loss function of a convolutional neural network (CNN) with improved U-net structure. The high-quality reconstruction of input objects upon spatial light modulation (SLM) can be realized from the speckle patterns of intensity that contain the information about the objects. Moreover, we study the effect of MCF length on image recovery. It is shown that the shorter the fiber, the better the imaging quality. Based on our findings, MCF may have applications in fields such as endoscopic imaging and optical communication.

        Different divergence events for three pairs of PEBPs in Gossypium as implied by evolutionary analysis

        Introduction The phosphatidylethanolamine-binding protein (PEBP) gene family plays a crucial role in seed germination, reproductive transformation, and other important developmental processes in plants, but its distribution in Gossypium genomes or species, evolutionary properties, and the fates of multiple duplicated genes remain unclear. Objectives The primary objectives of this study were to elucidate the distribution and characteristics of PEBP genes in Gossypium, as well as the evolutionary pattern of duplication and deletion, and functional differentiation of PEBPs in plants. Methods Using the PEBP protein sequences in Arabidopsis thaliana as queries, blast alignment was carried out for the identification of PEBP genes in four sequenced cotton species. Using the primers designed according to the PEBP genome sequences, PEBP genes were cloned from 15 representative genomes of Gossypium genus, and the gene structure, CDS sequence, protein sequence and properties were predicted and phylogenetic analysis was performed. Taking PEBP proteins of grape as reference, grouping of orthologous gene, analysis of phylogeny and divergence of PEBPs in nine species were conducted to reconstruct the evolutionary pattern of PEBP genes in plants. Results We identified and cloned 160 PEBPs from 15 cotton species, and the phylogenetic analysis showed that the genes could be classified into the following three subfamilies: MFT-like, FT-like and TFL1-like. There were eight single orthologous group (OG) members in each diploid and 16 double OG members in each tetraploid. An analysis of the expression and selective pressure indicated that expression divergence and strong purification selection within the same OG presented in the PEBP gene family. Conclusion An evolutionary pattern of duplication and deletion of the PEBP family in the evolutionary history of Gossypium was suggested, and three pairs of genes resulted from different whole-genome duplication events.

        Inter-hemispheric Functional Connections Are More Vulnerable to Attack Than Structural Connection in Patients With Irritable Bowel Syndrome

        Background/Aims Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a prevalent functional gastrointestinal disease characterized by recurrent abdominal pain and bowel dysfunction. However, the majority of previous neuroimaging studies focus on brain structure and connections but seldom on the inter-hemispheric connectivity or structural asymmetry. This study uses multi-modal imaging to investigate the abnormal changes across the 2 cerebral hemispheres in patients with IBS. Methods Structural MRI, resting-state functional MRI, and diffusion tensor imaging were acquired from 34 patients with IBS and 33 healthy controls. The voxel-mirrored homotopic connectivity, fractional anisotropy, fiber length, fiber number, and asymmetry index were calculated and assessed for group differences. In addition, we assessed their relevance for the severity of IBS. Results Compared with healthy controls, the inter-hemispheric functional connectivity of patients with IBS showed higher levels in bilateral superior occipital gyrus, middle occipital gyrus, precuneus, posterior cingulate gyrus, and angular gyrus, but lower in supplementary motor area. The statistical results showed no significant difference in inter-hemispheric anatomical connections and structural asymmetry, however negative correlations between inter-hemispheric connectivity and the severity of IBS were found in some regions with significant difference. Conclusions The functional connections between cerebral hemispheres were more susceptible to IBS than anatomical connections, and brain structure is relatively stable. Besides, the brain areas affected by IBS were concentrated in default mode network and sensorimotor network. (J Neurogastroenterol Motil 2021;27:426-435)
