In this study, we would like to introduce a 3D printing technology on the nanoscale that utilizes nanophotonics and a modified atomic force microscope (AFM) for the assembly of quantum dots. Quantum dots are semiconductor nanostructures with zero-dimensional crystal structures at the nanometer scale, exhibiting unique optical properties due to quantum confinement effects. These quantum dots, with sizes on the order of a few nanometers, have garnered significant attention in various optical fields. By printing these quantum dots onto 2D materials or other substrates in desired shapes, we open up possibilities for controlling their energy structures and utilizing them in various ways. In this technology, we inject a quantum dot solution into the nanophotonic tip and use an AFM to precisely deposit the quantum dots at desired locations and shapes. In the initial stages of this technology, we achieve this by ejecting the quantum dot solution onto the surface through the holes in the nanophotonic tip. Simultaneously, as we retract the nanophotonic tip vertically, the liquid containing quantum dots evaporates, leading to the formation of bundled quantum dot nanowires. This innovative approach holds promise for a wide range of applications where precise manipulation of quantum dots at the nanoscale is crucial.
Risk assessment of cyclohexasiloxane D6 in cosmetic products

Dodecamethylcyclohexasiloxane (D6) is a siloxane substance mainly used in cosmetics and personal care products. While octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D4) and decamethylcyclopentasiloxane (D5) were once commonly used in personal care products, their usage has been restricted due to the classification as persistent, bioaccumulative, and toxic (PBT)/very persistent and very bio-accumulative (vPvB) substances. While D6 has emerged as a substitute for D4 and D5, the risk assessment for D6 remains limited compared to the evaluations for D4 and D5. To address this gap, we conducted a comprehensive risk assessment of D6. In this study, we reviewed the toxicity information on D6 and calculated the exposure level to D6, considering the content of D6 in cosmetic products. No observed adverse effect level (NOAEL) of 1500 mg/kg bw/day was established in a repeated dose toxicity study after oral administration to rats. Negative results were found in tests on the ocular and skin irritation, skin sensitization, and genotoxicity of D6. According to the product content of up to 48% of D6 reported in 2012, the Systemic Exposure Dose (SED) was 5.4E-06 to 7.04 mg/kg bw/day for a 60 kg adult using the exposure factors from Korean cosmetic usage. The Margin of Safety was estimated to be between 35.5 and 4.63E+07, posing a potential health risk of D6 according to the maximum concentration and the product type. Further consideration of the potential of D6 as PBT or vPvB is also required.
동적 에너지 시뮬레이션에 기반한 지열원 및 공기열원 냉난방 시스템의 탄소배출량 분석

In this study, the performance of two renewable energy systems, ground source heat pump (GSHP) system and air source heat pump (ASHP) system, was analyzed through dynamic energy simulation, and carbon emissions were quantitatively calculated through a life cycle assessment method based on the simulation results. The carbon emissions of the energy systems were calculated by dividing the life cycle evaluation stage into four categories: production, construction, operation, and disposal, and the calculation of carbon emissions in the operation stage was based on the annual performance analysis of the dynamic energy simulation. For 1 year of operation, the GSHP system had 14% higher carbon emissions than the ASHP system, while for 20 years of operation, the ASHP system had 39% higher carbon emissions than the GSHP. Compared to the ASHP system, the GSHP system can reduce carbon emissions in the operating stage by 42% per year by securing higher COP, and within 2 years, the carbon amount in the entire process can be lower than in the ASHP system.
경도인지장애와 치매 노인을 대상으로 한 이중과제 훈련의 인지기능 효과 : 체계적 고찰

목적 : 본 연구는 경도인지장애와 치매 노인을 대상으로 한 이중과제 훈련의 인지기능 효과에 대해 알아보고자하였다. 연구방법 : 문헌 검색으로 PubMed, Embase 데이터베이스를 사용하여 2011년 1월부터 2021년 9월까지 출판된 논문을 검색하였다. 검색어로는 “Dementia” OR “mild cognitive impairment” AND “dual-task” OR “combined cognitive and physical training”을 사용하였다. 문헌 선정의 절차를 통해 3,060개의 임상 실험연구 중에서 5개의 연구가 선택되었다. 선정된 연구들은 대상 연구의 방법론적 질 평가, 비뚤림 위험 평가, 이중과제 유형 및 중재 효과를 통해 분석하였다. 결과 : 총 5개의 연구를 분석한 결과, 방법론적 질 평가의 총점 평균은 6.2점으로 ‘양호’로 나타났다. 비뚤림위험 평가 결과 선정된 연구 중 3편에서 배정순서 은폐, 참여자 및 연구자의 눈가림, 불완전한 결과처리 영역에서 위험도 높음으로 평가되었다. 이중과제 훈련 유형으로는 모두 동시적 이중과제 훈련 프로그램을 적용하였고, 경도인지장애 및 치매 노인을 대상으로 주의 집중력, 실행기능의 인지기능과 인지 선별 검사에서유의한 효과가 나타났다. 결론 : 본 연구에서 이중과제 훈련은 치매와 경도인지장애 노인의 인지기능에 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 임상환경에서 경도인지장애 및 치매 노인을 대상으로 효과적인 이중과제 훈련의 기초자료로 사용되길 기대한다 Objective : The study aims to review the dual-task training effect on cognitive function of older adults with dementia and mild cognitive impairment. Methods : From January 2011 to September 2021, we searched the peer-reviewed manuscript related to dual-task training for dementia and mild cognitive impairment using the PubMed, Embase databases. The five studies were selected from the 3,060 clinical trial studies related to dual-task training. Selective studies were analyzed for the Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro) scale, risk of bias, dual-task training type, intervention effect. Results : The selected five studies was average total score of the PEDro scale was 6.2, ‘good’. Three studies showed a high risk of bias. The dual task training significant effects were found in cognitive function of attention, executive function, and cognitive screening evaluation. Conclusion : It is expected that the results of this study will be used as reference for applying the dual task training to the older adults with mild cognitive impairment and dementia in clinical practice.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Given that the global airline industry is considered one of the most competitive markets, numerous attempts have been made to explore strategies for success in this industry. Among these, improving customers’ perceived satisfaction is an important topic for airline service providers. Thus, the current study investigates the potential determinants of customers’ perceived satisfaction with airline services through a close examination of their feedback on these services. A sentiment analysis is conducted on a dataset comprising feedback from more than 133,000 customers. Applying the structural equation modeling method in the proposed research model reveals that customers’ affective values have notable effects on their satisfaction with airline services. Moreover, notable statistical differences in customer groups exist between low-cost carrier and full-service carrier services. Long Term Trends and the Future Gastric Cancer Mortality in Korea: 1983~2013

Purpose: In spite of gastric cancer's decreasing incidence and mortality rates, it is still the most common cancer in Korea. In the present study, we examined the temporal trends of gastric cancer mortality during the past 20 years in Korea by using an age-period-cohort model, and we predicted the mortality rates for the next 10 years.Materials and Methods: Data on the annual number of deaths due to gastric cancer and data on population statistics from 1984 to 2003 were obtained from the Korean National Statistical Office. A log-linear Poisson ageperiod-cohort model was used to estimate age, period and birth cohort effects. To project two periods (10 years) into the future, the new cohort values were estimated by performing linear regression that was applied to a chosen number of the most recent cohort values.Results: The trends of gastric cancer mortality were predominantly explained by the cohort effect; the risk of gastric cancer death decreased since the 1919 birth cohort for both genders. The predicted, expected age-adjusted mortality rates per 100,000 for males and females are 45.72 and 23.75, respectively, during 2004~2008, and 34.62 and 17.93 respectively, during 2009~2013. During 2004~2008 and 2009~2013, the predicted numbers of deaths due to gastric cancer in males are 36,922 and 27,959, respectively, whereas those in females are 19,698 and 14,869, respectively.Conclusions: Not only the mortality, but also the incidence of gastric cancer in Korea is expected to further decrease in both men and women if the trends of the past 20 years continue.
