Enhanced electrocatalytic performance of an ultrafine AuPt nanoalloy framework embedded in graphene towards epinephrine sensing

        Thanh, Tran Duy,Balamurugan, Jayaraman,Tuan, Nguyen Thanh,Jeong, Hun,Lee, Seung Hee,Kim, Nam Hoon,Lee, Joong Hee Elsevier 2017 Biosensors & bioelectronics Vol.89 No.2

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A novel hierarchical nanoporous thin film of AuPt alloy embedded in graphene (AuPt@GR) was successfully synthesized through the self-assembly of ultrafine AuPt nanoparticles (~3nm) within GR sheets by means of a facile chemical vapor deposition (CVD) procedure without the use of any external organic capping agent and reducing agent. A binder-free sensor based on the AuPt@GR hybrid material was fabricated and its electrocatalytic activity was evaluated by using it to determine epinephrine (EP) in PBS solution (pH=7.4) and in human serum spiked PBS solution. Amperometric measurements of the sensor response showed an extremely low limit of detection (0.9nM at a signal-to-noise ratio of 3), high sensitivity (1628µAmM−1 cm−2), wide linear detection range (1.5×10−9–9.6×10−6 M), and negligible response to interferents. At the same time, the sensor also exhibited very long-term amperometric stability (4000s), cyclic voltammetric stability (500 cycles), good reproducibility, and highly accurate detection of EP in real samples. The excellent electrochemical performance was attributed to synergistic effects of Au, Pt, and GR as well as to the formation of a unique nanoporous structure that provided enhanced electrocatalytic activity, a highly electroactive surface, and fast mass transport. These results suggest strong potential of the AuPt@GR hybrids for use in biosensors and bioelectronic devices.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> A novel hierarchical nanoporous AuPt alloy embedded in graphene was successfully synthesized without capping and reducing agents. </LI> <LI> The AuPt@GR based sensor detected epinephrine with low LOD (0.9nM), high sensitivity (1628µAmM−1 cm−2), and wide linear detection range (1.5×10−9–9.6×10−6 M). </LI> <LI> The sensor exhibited very long-term amperometric stability (4000s), CV stability (500 cycles), and good reproducibility. </LI> </UL> </P>

A novel sensitive sensor for serotonin based on high-quality of AuAg nanoalloy encapsulated graphene electrocatalyst

Thanh, Tran Duy,Balamurugan, Jayaraman,Hien, Hoa Van,Kim, Nam Hoon,Lee, Joong Hee Elsevier Applied Science 2017 Biosensors & bioelectronics Vol. No.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A high quality graphene-encapsulated AuAg alloy (AuAg-GR) nanohybrid with homogeneous structure and good reproducibility over a desired area was successfully fabricated. Taking benefits of the unique architecture, such nanohybrid was employed as an efficient electrocatalyst for sensing application. The AuAg-GR based sensor could sensitively detected neurotransmitter serotonin (5-HT) with wide linear detection range (2.7nM to 4.82μM), very low detection limit (1.6nM), negligible interference, and excellent reproducibility. In addition, AuAg-GR based sensor accurately determined 5-HT in human serum samples. This is due to the enhanced catalytic activity of GR nanosheets-encapsulated AuAg nanostructures, which possessed well monodispersion of AuAg alloy, greater electrochemical active sites, and good charge transfer possibility. The obtained results imply that such nanohybrid is a potential candidate for synthesizing electrochemical sensors in requirement of high sensitivity, long-term stability, and good reproducibility.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> High quality of AuAg NPs-GR hybrid was successfully synthesized using electroless deposition. </LI> <LI> It demonstrated excellent catalytic activity towards serotonin with wide linear detection range. </LI> <LI> The AuAg-GR based sensor displayed good reproducibility and stability. </LI> </UL> </P>

Thanh, Tran Duy,Chuong, Nguyen Dinh,Hien, Hoa Van,Kim, Nam Hoon,Lee, Joong Hee American Chemical Society 2018 ACS APPLIED MATERIALS & INTERFACES Vol.10 No.5

<P>Development of a robust, cost-effective, and efficient catalyst is extremely necessary for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in fuel cell applications. Herein, we reported a well-defined nanostructured catalyst of highly dispersed CuAg@Ag coreshell nanoparticle (NP)-encapsulated nitrogen-doped graphene nanosheets (CuAg@Ag/N-GNS) exhibiting a superior catalytic activity toward ORR in alkaline medium. The synergistic effects produced from the unique properties of CuAg@Ag core-shell NPs and N-GNS made such a novel nanohybrid display a catalytic behavior comparable to that of the commercial Pt/C product. In particular, it demonstrated a much better stability and methanol tolerance than Pt/C under the same conditions. Because of its outstanding electrochemical performance and ease of synthesis, CuAg@Ag/N-GNS material was expected to be a promising low-cost catalyst for ORR in alkaline fuel cell applications.</P>

Discovering Community Interests Approach to Topic Model with Time Factor and Clustering Methods

( Thanh Ho ),( Tran Duy Thanh ) 한국정보처리학회 2021 Journal of information processing systems Vol.17 No.1

Many methods of discovering social networking communities or clustering of features are based on the network structure or the content network. This paper proposes a community discovery method based on topic models using a time factor and an unsupervised clustering method. Online community discovery enables organizations and businesses to thoroughly understand the trend in users’ interests in their products and services. In addition, an insight into customer experience on social networks is a tremendous competitive advantage in this era of ecommerce and Internet development. The objective of this work is to find clusters (communities) such that each cluster’s nodes contain topics and individuals having similarities in the attribute space. In terms of social media analytics, the method seeks communities whose members have similar features. The method is experimented with and evaluated using a Vietnamese corpus of comments and messages collected on social networks and ecommerce sites in various sectors from 2016 to 2019. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method over other methods.

Pancreaticoduodenectomy with superior mesenteric artery first-approach combined total meso-pancreas excision for periampullary malignancies: A high-volume single-center experience with short-term outcomes

        Thanh Khiem Nguyen,Ham Hoi Nguyen,Tuan Hiep Luong,Kim Khue Dang,Van Duy Le,Duc Dung Tran,Van Minh Do,Hong Quang Pham,Hoan My Pham,Thi Lan Tran,Cuong Thinh Nguyen,Hong Son Trinh,Yosuke Inoue 한국간담췌외과학회 2024 Annals of hepato-biliary-pancreatic surgery Vol.28 No.1

Backgrounds/Aims: Pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) is the only radical treatment for periampullary malignancies. Superior mesenteric artery (SMA) first approach combined with total meso-pancreas (MP) excision was conducted to improve the oncological results. There has not been any previous research of a technique that combines the SMA first approach and total MP excision with a detailed description of the MP macroscopical shape. Methods: We prospectively assessed 77 patients with periampullary malignancies between October 2020 and March 2022 (18 months). All patients had undergone PD with SMA first approach combined total MP excision. The perioperative indications, clinical data, intra-operative index, R0 resection rate of postoperative pathological specimens (especially mesopancreatic margin), postoperative complications, and follow-up results were evaluated. Results: The median operative time was 289.6 min (178−540 min), the median intraoperative blood loss was 209 mL (30−1,600 mL). Microscopically, there were 19 (24.7%) cases with metastatic MP, and five cases (6.5%) with R1-resection of the MP. The number of lymph nodes (LNs) harvested and metastatic LNs were 27.2 (maximum was 74) and 1.8 (maximum was 16), respectively. Some (46.8%) patients had pancreatic fistula, but mostly in grade A, with 7 patients (9.1%) who required re-operations. Some 18.2% of cases developed postoperative refractory diarrhea. The rate of in-hospital mortality was 1.3%. Conclusions: The PD with SMA first approach combined TMpE for periampullary malignancies was effective in achieving superior oncological statistics (rate of MP R0-resection and number of total resected LNs) with non-inferior short-term outcomes. It is necessary to evaluate survival outcomes with long-term follow-up.
