In this article, we study a reaction-diffusion system with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions, which describing a three-species food chain model. Under some conditions, the predator-prey subsystem (u<sub>1</sub> ≡ 0) has a unique positive solution (${\bar{u_2}}$, ${\bar{u_3}}$). By using the birth rate of the prey r1 as a bifurcation parameter, a connected set of positive solutions of our system bifurcating from semi-trivial solution set (r<sub>1</sub>, (0, ${\bar{u_2}}$, ${\bar{u_3}}$)) is obtained. Results are obtained by the use of degree theory in cones and sub and super solution techniques.
Identification and expression analysis of grape LRK10L-2 genes during grape fruit development

LRK10L-2 is known to be related to the plant disease response, little information is available about the relationship of LRK10L-2 and fruit ripening. The protein physicochemical properties, conserved domains, gene structures, subcellular locali- zation, expression patterns during grape fruit development and promoter activity of the members of grape LRK10L-2 gene family were explored in this study. A total of 109 LRK10L-2 family gene members were identified, and mainly distributed on chromosome 16. Almost all of them were located in the plasma membrane. Most of the LRK10L-2 genes contain four or five motifs, ranging from 0 to 5 introns and have the cis-acting elements related to hormones in their promoter regions. There were 20 pairs of tandem duplicates and 293 pairs of segmental duplication in LRK10L-2 family genes. It was proved that the expression of LRK10L-2 gene varied at the different fruit development stages of 'Kyoho' and its early-ripening bud mutant, ‘Fengzao’. The subcellular localization of VIT_16s0098g00160 and VIT_16s0098g00400 were in the plasma membrane, and had a significant enrichment of the GUS signal in N.benthamiana leaves for the promoter. The results lay a solid basis for the further functional researches of the LRK10L-2 genes for grape fruit ripening.

This paper mainly studies the stress and strain characteristics of electric vehicle cables under tensile state and its influence law on the electromagnetic characteristics. Firstly, the structure and characteristics of new energy vehicle cables are analyzed, and the three-dimensional solid model of the cables is established. The finite element method is used to analyze the deformation law and stress change characteristics of cables under diff erent tensile load conditions, so as to achieve the resistance change law of cables. Then the equivalent modeling method is established to simulate the electromagnetic characteristics of the cable. It is found that the tensile deformation increases the electromagnetic field intensity of some parts of the cable, leading to the irregular distribution of electromagnetic field in the entire cable. Finally, the variation law of electromagnetic field during the cable deformation is summarized.

The c-Jun NH2-terminal kinase (JNK) signaling pathway participates in many physiological functions. In the current study we reported the cloning and characterization of five novel JNK2 transcript variants, which were designated as JNK2 α3, JNK2 α4, JNK2 β3, JNK2 γ1 and JNK2 γ2, respectively. Among them, JNK2 α4 and JNK2 γ2 are potential non-coding RNA because they contain pre-mature stop codons. Both JNK2α3 and JNK2β3 contain an intact kinase domain, and both encode a protein product of 46 kDa, the same as those of JNK2α1 and JNK2β1. JNK2γ1 contains a disrupted kinase domain and it showed a disable function. When over-expressed in mammalian cells, JNK2α3 showed higher activity on AP-1 than that of JNK2β3 and JNK2γ1. Furthermore, JNK2α3 and JNK2β3 showed different levels of substrate phosphorylation, although they both could promote the proliferation of 293T cells. Our results further demonstrate that JNK2 isoforms preferentially target different substrates and may regulate the expression of various target genes. [BMB reports 2010; 43(11): 738-743]
A New Partially-coupled Recursive Least Squares Algorithm for Multivariate Equation-error Systems

This paper focuses on the parameter estimation problems for multivariate pseudo-linear systems. Based on the parameters coupling characteristic of the system model, a new partially-coupled least squares algorithm is proposed. For convenience of comparison, the traditional least squares algorithm for multivariate systems is given. The proposed algorithm has better performances than the traditional algorithm. The calculation amounts of the two algorithms are analyzed, it is shown that the proposed algorithm has better computational efficiency. Two numerical simulation examples are given, and the results indicate that the proposed algorithm has better parameters identification accuracy.

Position-dependent Spontaneous Motion of the Magnetic Domain Wall in Ferromagnetic Nanowires

We have investigated the dependence of the spontaneous dynamics of the magnetic domain wall in ferromagnetic nanowires on the initial position of the domain wall without any external field. Using micromagnetic simulations, we have observed in detail a spontaneous magnetic domain wall motion for various wire widths and thicknesses. We have found that the average speed of the spontaneous domain wall motion significantly depends on the wire width and thickness, as well as the starting position of the domain wall motion. We conclude that the spontaneous magnetic domain wall motion should be considered very carefully in practical design of spintronic devices based on magnetic domain wall motion.
Field-controllable injection of virtual magnetic domainwall in discrete magnetic nanodot chains

Periodic injection behaviors of virtual magnetic domain wall (VDW) have been systematically investigated in asymmetrically shaped nanodot chains by means of micromagnetic simulations. Systematic investigation on a controllable VDW injection has been carried out. We demonstrate that precise control of VDW injection is achievable by using different nanodot shapes as well as by changing alternating magnetic field (AC field) profiles. The VDW position can be tuned by adjusting AC field frequency and amplitude. Field-controllable periodic VDW injection phenomenon is found to be sustainable over wide ranges of phase diagram spanned by AC field frequency and amplitude.
