A three-dimensional (3D) Co3O4/mildly oxidized multiwalled carbon nanotubes (moCNTs)/reduced mildly oxidized graphene oxide (rmGO) ternary composite was prepared via a simple and green hydrolysishydrothermal approach by mixing Co(Ac)2·4H2O with moCNTs and mGO suspension in mixed ethanol/H2O. As characterized by scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy, Co3O4 nanoparticles with size of 20-100 nm and moCNTs are effectively anchored in mGO. Cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge-discharge measurements were adopted to investigate the electrochemical properties of Co3O4/moCNTs/ rmGO ternary composite in 6 M KOH solution. In a potential window of 0-0.6 V vs. Hg/HgO, the composite delivers an initial specific capacitance of 492 F g−1 at 0.5 A g−1 and the capacitance remains 592 F g−1 after 2000 cycles, while the pure Co3O4 shows obviously capacitance fading, indicating that rmGO and moCNTs greatly enhance the electrochemical performance of Co3O4.

In this study, polypropylene (PP) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) are used to coat stainless steel(SS) wrapped yarns, the product of which is then fabricated into conductive textiles. Afterwards, the tensile properties, surface resistivity, and electromagnetic shielding effectiveness (EMSE) of conductive textiles are evaluated, therebydetermining the influences of the MWCNTs content. The test results show that using MWCNT can effectively improve themechanical properties of the coated yarns and conductive woven fabrics. In addition, 5 wt % of MWCNT provides the wovenfabrics with a lower surface resistivity and higher EMSE. The influences of the lamination angle and number of laminationlayers on EMSE are investigated, and the maximum EMSE of -49.89 dB occurs when the lamination angle is 0 °/90 °/0 °.

In the last three decades, most immigration to Taiwan has been through cross-border marriage, and most (90%) of the people who have immigrated through cross-border marriage have been women. Although new immigrants are now the fifth largest group in Taiwan, they have made large contributions to Taiwan society and to their families in Taiwan. However, mainstream society still has a negative stereotype of new immigrants. Discrimination occurs in daily life. Even governmental systems and policies may not treat new immigrants fairly. These phenomena impact the daily experience of new immigrants and the enforcement of their rights. This article is the product of studies by the author during 2009-2013. It describes the challenges and stigma experienced by new immigrants from Southeast Asia and Mainland China after entering Taiwan through cross-border marriage. These new immigrants gathered to fight against the stigma. Finally, the anti-oppressive practice of the community-based immigration services is discussed.

Growth of Microcystis aeruginosa could be inhibited significantly within 24 h by the extracellular substances prepared from Aeromonas sp. strain FM. During the treatment, the concentration of extracellular soluble carbohydrates increased significantly in algal culture. Morphological and ultrastructural changes in M. aeruginosa cells, including breakage of the cell surface, secretion of mucilage, and intracellular disorganization of thylakoids, were observed. HPLC-MS analysis showed that the extracellular substances of Aeromonas sp. strain FM were a mixture of free amino acids, tripeptides, and clavulanate. Among these, the algaelysis effects of lysine and clavulanate were confirmed.
