태안해안국립공원 바람아래 특별보호구역의 지형 및 염생식물 분포특성 연구

본 연구는 바람아래 할미섬 특별보호구역의 자연해안 복원 연구를 위하여 현재의 해빈의 높이, 면적, 해안의 길이, 사구정상의 높이 등 정확한 지형의 현황을 분석하고 지형특성에 따른 사구·염생식물 분포를 분석하고자 하였다. 할미섬 지형의 최고높이는 17m이며 제일 낮은 높이는 평균 3m에서 5m로 섬 남단 만입에서 남동쪽 니질조간대 지역이다. 연구지역내 총 소산식물은 17목 23과 40속 49종 3변종 8외래종이 생육하고 있으며 곰솔군락, 갈참나무군락, 보리장나무군락, 아까시나무군락, 순비기나무군락 등 5개 목본군락과 띠군락, 갯그령군락, 갯잔디군락, 나문재군락, 왕잔디군락, 갯메꽃군락, 해홍나물군락, 천일사초군락, 갯쇠보리군락, 통보리사초군락 등 10개 염생·사구식물군락이 분포하고 있으며 갯그령-띠군락, 띠-갯메꽃군락, 띠-갯그령군락, 띠-은백양나무군락 등 4개의 혼합군락이 분포하고 있다. 식물의 공간적 분포 특성은 곰솔(Pt1), 갯그령(Em2,3,4), 갯잔디(Zs5)를 제외한 식생군락의 대부분이 10m2에서 500m2의 작은 패치형태를 띄고 있으며 높이는 평균 4m에서 6m 사이, 해안선으로부터 거리는 100m에서 150m 사이에 분포하고 잇는 것으로 분석되었다. This study was carried out to investigate the exact current status of the topography such as the present beach elevation and area, coastline and the height of the dune crest, with the analysis of the distribution of the sand dune·halophytes on geomorphic characteristics for the restoration of natural coast in the protection zone of Baramarye Halmi-island. Halmi-island has the maximum height of 17m and the lowest height of average 3m to 5m, which is the muddy tidal flat area located southeast of the embayment on the southern tip of the island. The total distribution of plants in the research sites are 17 orders, 23 families, 40 genus, 49 species and 8 exotic species: 5 arbors communities including Pinus thunbergii, Quercus aliena, Elaeagnus glabra, Robinia pseudo-acacia, Vitex rotundifolia etc., 10 halophytes and sand dune plants communities including Calystegia soldanella, Suaeda maritima, Carex scabrifolia, Ischaemum anthephoroides, Carex kobomugi etc and 4 mixed communities including Elymus mollis-Imperata cylindrica var. koenigii, Imperata cylindrica var. koenigii-Calystegia soldanella, Imperata cylindrica var. koenigii-Elymus mollis, Imperata cylindrica var. koenigii-Populus alba etc. The spatial distribution characteristics of plants are identified that the most plant community are distributed in the distance of between 100m to 150m from the coastline, with the small-scale patch structure of 10m2 to 500m2 and the height of average 4cm to 6cm except Pinus thunbergii (Pt1), Elymus mollis (Em2,3,4) and Zoysia sinica (Zs5).
Directed migration of cancer cells guided by the graded texture of the underlying matrix

<P>Living cells and the extracellular matrix (ECM) can exhibit complex interactions that define key developmental, physiological and pathological processes. Here, we report a new type of directed migration-which we term 'topotaxis'-guided by the gradient of the nanoscale topographic features in the cells' ECM environment. We show that the direction of topotaxis is reflective of the effective cell stiffness, and that it depends on the balance of the ECM-triggered signalling pathways PI(3)K-Akt and ROCK-MLCK. In melanoma cancer cells, this balance can be altered by different ECM inputs, pharmacological perturbations or genetic alterations, particularly a loss of PTEN in aggressive melanoma cells. We conclude that topotaxis is a product of the material properties of cells and the surrounding ECM, and propose that the invasive capacity of many cancers may depend broadly on topotactic responses, providing a potentially attractive mechanism for controlling invasive and metastatic behaviour.</P>

<P>Cell polarization and directional cell migration can display random, persistent, and oscillatory dynamic patterns. However, it is not clear whether these polarity patterns can be explained by the same underlying regulatory mechanism. Here, we show that random, persistent, and oscillatory migration accompanied by polarization can simultaneously occur in populations of melanoma cells derived from tumors with different degrees of aggressiveness. We demonstrate that all of these patterns and the probabilities of their occurrence are quantitatively accounted for by a simple mechanism involving a spatially distributed, mechanochemical feedback coupling the dynamically changing extracellular matrix (ECM)-cell contacts to the activation of signaling downstream of the Rho-family small GTPases. This mechanism is supported by a predictive mathematical model and extensive experimental validation, and can explain previously reported results for diverse cell types. In melanoma, this mechanism also accounts for the effects of genetic and environmental perturbations, including mutations linked to invasive cell spread. The resulting mechanistic understanding of cell polarity quantitatively captures the relationship between population variability and phenotypic plasticity, with the potential to account for a wide variety of cell migration states in diverse pathological and physiological conditions.</P>

Background and purpose: The anti-aging standard forest healing program (ASFHP), which uses forest therapy, was reported to be effective in improving psychological, physical, and cognitive functions. However, there are several challenges to directly visiting the forest. This study aimed to investigate the impact of multi-session ASFHP with forest visit on the mental and physical health of the older people with visits to forest facilities and compared them with those of the same program conducted indoors. Methods: Individuals aged over 70 years with concerns about cognitive decline were recruited at dementia relief centers and divided into control and experimental groups. A total of 33 people were administered ASFHP under the supervision of a forest therapy instructor. The control group stayed indoors, while the experimental group visited a forest healing center and repeated the program 20 weeks. Results: The multiple-session ASFHP positively affected cognitive impairment screening test (CIST) total scores (p=0.002), memory (p=0.014), Korean version of the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status total scores (p<0.001), immediate recall (p=0.001), visuospatial/construction (p<0.001), language (p<0.001), forest healing standard questionnaire total scores (p=0.002), and cognitive function (p=0.019), regardless of location. The forest visits during the ASFHP showed positive effects on orientation (p=0.035), delayed recall (p=0.042), emotional stability (p=0.032), physical activity (p=0.005), and health (p=0.022). The CIST scores of the memory domain were the strongest indicator of the multiple-session ASFHP effects. Conclusions: The 20-week multi-session ASFHP with forest visit showed effects on cognitive improvement and physical and emotional stability compared to indoor education.

<P>Precise graphene patterning is of critical importance for tailor-made and sophisticated two-dimensional nanoelectronic and optical devices. However, graphene-based heterostructures have been grown by delicate multistep chemical vapor deposition methods, limiting preparation of versatile heterostructures. Here, we report one-pot synthesis of graphene/amorphous carbon (a-C) heterostructures from a solid source of polystyrene <I>via</I> selective photo-cross-linking process. Graphene is successfully grown from neat polystyrene regions, while patterned cross-linked polystyrene regions turn into a-C because of a large difference in their thermal stability. Since the electrical resistance of a-C is at least 2 orders of magnitude higher than that for graphene, the charge transport in graphene/a-C heterostructure occurs through the graphene region. Measurement of the quantum Hall effect in graphene/a-C lateral heterostructures clearly confirms the reliable quality of graphene and well-defined graphene/a-C interface. 논지역 타작물 재배지원에 따라 밭재배 면적이 증가하는 추세이고 원활한 용수공급이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 대표적 밭작물로 고추, 배추, 사과, 콩의 4가지 작물에 대해 개별 관개와 집단화 관개 2가지 용수공급 방법 시나리오를 구성하고 타당성을 비교 분석하고자 하였다. 작물별 대표경작지에 대해 10년 한발빈도 가뭄에 필요한 필요수량의 산정하고, 관개 방법의 물 공급효율을 고려하여 조용수량을 산정하였다. 필지별 관정을 이용하여 관개를 하는 개별 용수공급 방법, 하천 및 저수지의 인근 지표수를 이용하여 주로 관개를 하고 용수공급이 어려운 지역에 대규모 관정을 이용하여 관개를 하는 집단 용수공급방법의 두 가지 시나리오를 구성하여 경제성 평가를 진행하였다. 경제성 평가 결과 모든 작물에서 개별 용수공급 방법에 비해 집단화 용수공급 방법에서 경제적이었으며 각 작물의 b/c ratio 증가율은 고추 2.19, 배추 2.17, 사과 1.84, 콩 2.22로 산정되었다. 작물의 필요수량이 클수록, 경작지가 하천 인근에 위치할수록 개별 관개에 비해 집단화 관개에서 경제성이 큰 경향을 보였다. 본 연구는 현재 대상지역의 영농 설비 현황, 실제 작물의 경작 위치를 고려하지 못한 한계가 있으나, 밭 재배 면적이 증가하고 있는 상황에서 가뭄 대비를 위한 용수공급 방법의 결정에 기초자료로써 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
