Primary Aldosteronism and Cerebrovascular Diseases
Zheng-Wei Chen,Chi-Sheng Hung,Vin-Cent Wu,Yen-Hung Lin,TAIPAI study group 대한내분비학회 2018 Endocrinology and metabolism Vol.33 No.4
As diagnostic techniques have advanced, primary aldosteronism (PA) has emerged as the most common cause of secondary hypertension. The excess of aldosterone caused by PA resulted in not only cardiovascular complications, including coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, arrhythmia, and heart failure, but also cerebrovascular complications, such as stroke and transient ischemicattack. Moreover, PA is associated more closely with these conditions than is essential hypertension. In this review, we present up-todate findings on the association between PA and cerebrovascular diseases.
Performance Analysis and Evaluation of Deployment in Small Cell Networks
( Kan Zheng ),( Yue Li ),( Yingkai Zhang ),( Zheng Jiang ),( Hang Long ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2015 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.9 No.3
Small cells are deployed in Heterogeneous Networks (HetNet) to improve overall performance. These access points can provide high-rate mobile services at hotspots to users. In a Small Cell Network (SCN), the good deployment of small cells can guarantee the performance of users on the basis of average and cell edge spectrum efficiency. In this paper, the performance of small cell deployment is analyzed by using system-level simulations. The positions of small cells can be adjusted according to the deployment radius and angle. Moreover, different Inter-Cell Interference Coordination (ICIC) techniques are also studied, which can be implemented either in time domain or in frequency domain. The network performances are evaluated under different ICIC techniques when the locations of Small evolved Nodes (SeNBs) vary. Simulation results show that the average throughput and cell edge throughput can be greatly improved when small cells are properly deployed with the certain deployment radius and angle. Meanwhile, how to optimally configure the parameters to achieve the potential of the deployment is discussed when applying different ICIC techniques.
Improved Wideband Precoding with Arbitrary Subcarrier Grouping in MIMO-OFDM Systems
Hang Long,Kyeong Jin Kim,Wei Xiang,Shanshan Shen,Kan Zheng,Wenbo Wang 한국전자통신연구원 2012 ETRI Journal Vol.34 No.1
Precoding in the multiple-input multiple-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system is investigated. In conventional wideband precoding (WBP), only one precoder, obtained from the decomposition of the subcarrier independent channel matrix, is used for all subcarriers. With an investigation of the relationship between the subcarrier independent channel matrix and the temporal/frequency channels, an improved WBP scheme is proposed for practical scenarios in which a part of subcarriers are allocated to a user. The improved WBP scheme is a generalized scheme of which narrow-band precoding and conventional WBP schemes are special modes. Simulation results demonstrate that the improved WBP scheme almost achieves the optimum performance of a single precoder and outperforms the conventional WBP scheme in terms of the bit error ratio and ergodic capacity with slight complexity increase. The largest advantage of the improved WBP scheme on signal-to-noise ratio in simulation results is over 2.1 dB.
The Development of the Distribution/VMI Game Based on Theory of Constraints
Zheng, Kai-Wen,Tsai, Chih-Hung,Li, Rong-Kwei,Chen, Ching-Piao,Tsai, Shih-Chieh The Korean Society for Quality Management 2009 The Asian Journal on Quality Vol.10 No.1
As the flourish of today's supply chain, the traditional model of replenishment will cause accumulation of excessive inventory to the retailers and customers, or cause shortages and inability to meet the demands. To solve this problem, Theory of Constraints (TOC) proposed the replenishment model of demand-pull, combined with the establishment of factory-ware-house to achieve performance improvement. In the absence of empirical research, this study applied the Bean Game developed by Dr. Goldratt to design a supply chain system for different scenarios, in order to allow players and managers better understanding and supporting the TOC replenishment method through the operations of the game.

It was reported that mast cell degranulation is inversely related to the enzymatic activity of $M_2$-type pyruvate kinase ($M_2PK$). This study shows that activation of high-affinity IgE receptor ($Fc{\varepsilon}RI$) evokes a sequential dual regulation of $M_2PK$, i.e., an immediate decrement followed by slow phase increment of enzymatic activities. Changes in the activities of $M_2PK$ and mast cell degranulation showed similar time course after antigenic stimulation of $Fc{\varepsilon}RI$. The immediate inhibition of $M_2PK$ involved tyrosine phosphorylation, and subsequently led to a cellular accumulation of glycolytic intermediates, including fructose 1,6-biphosphate (FBP), a feedforward activator of $M_2PK$. As the cellular levels of FBP were increased, both the enzymatic acitivity of $M_2PK$ and mast cell degranulation slowly returned to near basal levels. A-Raf, when exogenously introduced into RBL-2H3 cells, phosphorylated $M_2PK$ on the serine residues, elevated enzyme activities of $M_2PK$, and resulted in the inhibition of degranulation. These results suggest that dual regulation of $M_2PK$ which involves the phosphorylation of $M_2PK$ and accumulation of a feedforward activator of $M_2PK$ plays important roles in the control of mast cell degranulation.

Purpose: Intranasal dexmedetomidine is an effective sedative for premedication and is regularly used to reduce preoperative tension and anxiety in children. This study aimed to assess the effect of intranasally adjunctive dexmedetomidine on perioperativesedative and analgesic requirements in adults. Materials and Methods: Patients were randomly divided into four groups to receive preoperative administration of saline, intranasaldexmedetomidine 1 μg/kg and 2 μg/kg, and intravenous dexmedetomidine 1 μg/kg, respectively. Propofol and remifentanil were target-controlled infused to maintain intraoperative bispectral index at 45–55 and blood pressure at baseline value±20%. Sufentanil was administered to maintain postoperative visual analogue scale ≤3. Perioperative anesthetics requirements were compared using nonparametric tests. Results: Intranasal dexmedetomidine significantly attenuated propofol requirements for anesthesia induction and maintenance in a dose-dependent manner. Patients given intranasal dexmedetomidine 2 μg/kg required less remifentanil for anesthesia maintenance. The first postoperative request for sufentanil analgesia was delayed in patients given intranasal dexmedetomidine 2 μg/kg. The anesthetics-sparing effect of intranasal dexmedetomidine was significantly weaker than intravenous dexmedetomidine at the same dose of 1 μg/kg. The incidences of adverse events, including hemodynamic instability and delayed recovery, were comparablewith and without intranasal dexmedetomidine. Conclusion: Intranasal administration of dexmedetomidine can reduce perioperative anesthetic requirements, and a dose of dexmedetomidine 2 μg/kg produces a better effect in adults. The anesthetics-sparing effect of intranasal dexmedetomidine 1 μg/kg is less than that with the same intravenous dose of dexmedetomidine.
Ultraviolet-Ozone Treatment for Effectively Removing Adhesive Residue on Graphene
Hang Yang,ShiQiao Qin,GANG PENG,Xiaoming Zheng,Xueao Zhang 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2016 NANO Vol.11 No.12
In this paper, we systematically investigated the influence of adhesive residue existing in deterministic transfer process upon graphene, and put forward a rapid and effective way named ultraviolet-ozone (UVO) treatment to reduce this negative effect. Results indicate that this adhesive residue may cause poor contact between metal and graphene, thus greatly degrading the performance of the device. However, this unpleasant influence could be reduced effectively by adopting UVO treatment. This work may be helpful to fabricate higher performance functional devices based on two-dimensional materials by removal of the adhesive residue.

In a previous study, three larval cuticle protein genes were cloned from the mulberry longicorn beetle, Apriona germari (Comp. Biochem. Physiol. B 136, 803-811, 2003). In the present study, the genomic structures of these three larval cuticle protein genes (AgLCP9.2, AgLCP12.6 and AgLCP12.3) were elucidated. All three cuticle protein genes consist of one intron and two exons. Southern blot analysis of genomic DNA suggested that three cuticle protein genes are a single copy gene. In addition, a novel larval cuticle protein gene, AgLCP10.6, was cloned from A. germari in this study. The AgLCP10.6 cDNA contains an ORF of 300 nucleotides that are capable of encoding a 100-amino acid polypeptide with a predicted molecular mass of 10.6 kDa. The amino acid sequence deduced from the AgLCP10.6 cDNA contained a type-specific consensus sequence identifiable in other insect cuticle proteins and is most homologous to Drosophila melanogaster cuticle protein ACP65A (51 % protein sequence identity). Northern blot analysis revealed that AgLCP10.6 showed epidermis-specific expression.
