Background: Pilomatricoma is known to occur most frequently in children. However, some researchers have reported a second peak in adults and the elderly. Objectives: To describe our experience with pilomatricoma in the adult population, specifically examining its clinical presentation, associated conditions, and future implication. Methods: This is a retrospective review of a tertiary hospital. Subjects included 137 patients with diagnosis of pilomatricoma between the years of 1994 and 2014 with ages more than 20 years old. Gender, duration of lesions, age at excision, number of tumors, tumor location, preoperative diagnosis along with associated neoplasmswere assessed. Results: A total of 137 patients were identified with 145pilomatricoma lesions. The median age at biopsy excision was 33 years old, with the oldest patient at 75 years. Majority of patients (51.1%) visited department of dermatology for their pathologically proven pilomatricomas and preoperative impression was correct in 35.2% of cases. Pilomatricomas on head and neck area predominated with 50.3% (n=73) of all pilomatricomas followed by the upper extremities with 35.2% (n=51). A male to female ration of 1:1.2 was observed. Conclusion: Pilomatricoma, thought to be a rare lesion, is one of the common causes of superficial masses even in adults. In general, clinical features of pilomatricomas in adults were similar with those of children when this study is compared with reports concerned with pilomatricomasin children.

<P>Exploiting moiré interference, we make a new type of reconfigurable metamaterials and study their transmission tunability for incident electromagnetic waves. The moiré pattern is formed by overlapping two transparent layers, each of which has a periodic metallic pattern, and the cluster size of the resulting moiré pattern can be varied by changing the relative superposition angle of the two layers. In our reconfigurable metamaterials, both the size and structural shape of the unit cell can be varied simultaneously through moiré interference. We show that the transmission of electromagnetic waves can be controlled from 90% to 10% at 11 GHz by experiments and numerical simulation. The reconfigurable metamaterial proposed here can be applied in bandpass filters and tunable modulation devices.</P>

This paper presents the static characteristics of PMLSM considering the slotting effects of the primary core. To estimate the force ripple, PMLSM is analysed by the theoretical analysis and the FEM The simulation values are compared with experimental ones.

( Jaeyoung Kim ),( Geo Han ),( Onseok Lee ),( Seunghan Ha ),( Jaewoo Ahn ),( Chilhwan Oh ) 대한피부과학회 2015 대한피부과학회 학술발표대회집 Vol.67 No.2
Background: Melasma is a common pigmentary skin disease with patchy facial skin discoloration and typically appears on upper cheeks, upper lip, forehead, and chin. The most common severity assessment method of melasma is Melasma Area Severity Index(MASI)score. However, ordinary MASI scoring system has some downsides due to the observer``s subjective visual judgment. Objectives: This study aimed to develop a new advanced severity assessment method of melasma based on computerized optical imaging analysis system. Methods: We proposed a new analysis method for the quantitative assessing of melasma. In order toquantitatvely analyze the involvement area, we divided frontal, cheek and chin region in patients. The divided images were processed to define the melasma lesions by the multi-threshold method and gradient mask were apply to correct the curvature error of facial contour.Degree of darkness and homogenesis were measured based on intensity of gray level and difference of gray level in melasma lesions. Results: The proposed new quantitative assessment method for melasma is more objective and accurate than ordinary MASI method. also, our method is able to quantify a minute difference of pigmented pattern among melasma patients. Conclusion: We developed the quantitative assessment method for melasma using computerized optical imaging analysis.Based on the results, our new computerized optical imaging system could be used as valuable tools to assess the severity of various pigmentary skin diseases
비선형 Tent-Map을 이용한 RFID 인증 프로토콜 설계
한규광,임거수,Han, Kyu-Kwang,Yim, Geo-Su 한국전자통신학회 2014 한국전자통신학회 논문지 Vol.9 No.10
The RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) system is a technology to discern things by radio and an epoch-making new method to improve product management such as distribution, transport, mobilization, inventory control. However, RFID, which uses radio, is at risk for information leakage and falsification due to the vulnerability of security of the communication section. We designed the new authentication protocol by applying the tent map, which is the representative complex systems, to the RFID communication system. A more solid and simple authentication system was designed by applying the initial value sensitivity and irregularity, which are the representative characteristics of the complex system, to the reader and tag of RFID. The purpose of this paper is to verify the usability of the RFID authentication protocol design that uses the nonlinear system shown in this thesis by the new system differentiated from the authentication system that depends on the existing hash function or random numbers.
