한국판 상담자 스트레스 척도의 타당화 = Validation of the Counselor Stress Scale on Samples of Korean Counselors

This study examined validity of the Korean translated version of the Mental Health Professionals Stress Scale(Cushway et al., 1996). The MHPSS was developed to identify specific sources of stress amongst mental health professionals. The data for this study obtained by using Korean translated version of the MHPSS, the Korean-Counselor Burnout Inventory, the job satisfaction and the social desirability scale were administered to counseling center counselors(N=269) in Korea. The results of exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis indicated that 4-factor(workload, organizational-related difficulties, counseling-related difficulties and relationships conflicts), 36-item scale fits better responses to K-CSS than the original MHPSS 7-factor, 42-item scale. The results of correlation analysis, K-CSS were positive relationships with the K-CBI and negative relationships with the job satisfaction. The outcomes of this study provide preliminary support for the translated version of the MHPSS with counselors in Korea. Finally this study showed a significance and suggested the limit of this study and the further study.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 Cushway 등(1996)이 개발한 정신건강 전문가 스트레스 척도(MHPSS)를 한국어로 번안하여 한국판 상담자 스트레스 척도(K-CSS)의 타당화 작업을 실시하였다. MHPSS는 정신건강분야의 전문가들의 직무스트레스원을 확인하기 위해 개발되었다. 본 연구에서는 K-CSS의 타당도 검증을 위해, 상담관련 기관에 근무하는 상담자 269명을 대상으로 한국어로 번안된 MHPSS, 한국판 상담자 소진 척도, 직무만족 척도, 사회적 바람직성 척도를 실시하였다. 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인분석과 결과, K-CSS는 4요인(업무량, 조직관련 어려움, 상담관련 어려움, 관계갈등) 36문항으로 구성되었다. 상관분석 결과, K-CSS는 심리적 소진과는 정적 상관을, 직무만족도와는 부적상관을 보였다. 또한 상담경력은 K-CSS와 부적 상관을 보였으나 수퍼비전 횟수, 교육분석 횟수, 급여는 K-CSS 하위 차원 일부와만 상관이 있었고, 현재 진행 중인 사례 수는 K-CSS와 상관이 없었다. 이러한 결과들은 K-CSS의 타당도에 대한 근거를 제시해주고 있으며, 국내 상담자들에게 적용 가능함을 시사하고 있다.
