유아 자아존중감에 영향을 미치는 개인 내·외적 변인에 대한 연구 = An analysis of the effects of young children's personal characteristics and external variables on their self-esteem

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 만 5세반 유아 408명과 유아의 어머니 408명, 유아의 담임교사 24명을 대상으로 하였으며, 유아의 자아존중감과 관련된 개인내적 변인(유아의 성별, 신체적 능력, 기질, 정서지능, 사회지능) 및 개인외적 변인(어머니 자아존중감, 어머니 양육태도, 유아-교사관계에 대한 교사지각, 유아-교사관계에 대한 유아지각, 또래관계)이 유아 자아존중감에 미치는 영향력에 대하여 알아보는 것에 목적이 있다. 유아 개인내적 변인의 자아존중감에 대한 영향력을 살펴본 결과, 성별, 신체적 능력, 정서지능, 사회지능은 예측변인으로 나타났으며 각 예측 변인의 영향력은 사회지능이 가장 높았다. 그러나 유아의 기질은 자아존중감에 대하여 독자적인 설명력이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 유아의 개인외적 변인의 자아존중감에 대한 영향력을 살펴본 결과, 어머니 양육태도, 유아-교사관계에 대한 교사지각, 또래관계는 예측변인으로 나타났으며 각 예측변인의 영향력은 어머니 양육태도가 가장 높았다. 그러나 어머니 자아존중감, 유아-교사관계에 대한 유아지각은 자아존중감에 대하여 독자적인 설명력이 없는 것으로 나타났다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to determine the manner in which children's personal characteristics (gender, physical ability, temperament, emotional intelligence and social intelligence) and external variables (mother's self-esteem, child rearing attitudes, child and teacher's awareness of the student-teacher relationship and peer relationships) affect their self-esteem. Subjects are 408 five-year-olds, their mothers and 24 teachers. A non-probability randomized sampling method was used to determine the effects of related variables. The results of this study are as follows: 1) Predictive variables for young children's self-esteem are gender, physical ability, emotional Intelligence and social intelligence. 2) Social intelligence has the greatest influence on young children's self-esteem. 3) Temperament is found to have no independent explanation for young children's self-esteem. 4) Teacher's awareness of the student-teacher relationship and child-rearing attitude are predictive external variables for young children's self-esteem. 5) Teacher's awareness of the student-teacher relationship has the greatest influence on young children's self-esteem. 6) Mother's self-esteem, child's awareness of the student-teacher relationship and Peer relationships are found to have no independent explanation on young children's self-esteem.
