태권도 수련을 통한 외국인 근로자의 한국 문화적응에 관한 연구

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to research the foreign worker`s adaptation to Korean culture through Taekwondo training by performing participant observation and in-depth interview with the foreign workers working in Korea now. The results are as follows. First, when considering the Taekwondo training process of foreign worker, the training entry process was classified into two cases such as the case that the entry was recommended by foreign worker training Taekwondo and the case that foreign worker already trained Taekwondo in his country. Foreign workers expected the exchange with Korean people through Taekwondo training but they created new cultures with other workers from other country because of biased training population. Second, it was found that foreign workers adopted the Korean cultures such as Korean etiquette and language through Taekwondo training and had an opportunity to visit various places of Korea through participation in competition. Third, they created common interest called ``Taekwondo`` through Taekwondo training, created sympathy with Korean workers and played the role of relationship recovery. Lastly, when it comes to foreign worker, Taekwondo training also played the role to set life direction, dreaming of Taekwondo player and leader.
