부산지역의 외국인 노동자 인권실태 및 적응에 관한 연구 : 방글라데시 베트남 노동자를 중심으로 = (A) Study on foreign workers' human rights in Busan and their adaptation -with special reference to migrant workers from Bangladesh and Vietnam

This study investigates the actual conditions of Foreign Workers at Busan in Korea and Their Adaptation. Since the middle of 1980, Foreign Workers started to work in the nation and created problems of human rights as well as the right to live. This study aims to examine and analyze the working conditions and to suggest how to approach problems of foreign laborers, most of which arise from the lack of proper adaptation training on immigration and of understanding of the korean society on their part.
For research, a study of relevant literature was accompanied by empirical studies. This study focuses on unskilled manual workers. The foreign unskilled workers, the survey population of this study, are composed of four major groups : Bangladesh Industrial trainee, Vietnam Industrial trainee, Bangladesh illegal worker, Vietnam illegal worker.
As foreign workers are engaged in unskilled jobs, where the ability of workers matter little, most of them get much lower wages than native workers. Foreign workers face many problems in their work life : long working hours, low wages, and poor working conditions. Besides, they are sometimes exposed to critical disasters in the workplace.
Social networks among foreign workers are based on their origins. They meet one another regularly at local concentration centers. They exchange the information that they want in here.
