        Natural language semantics is the key problem in natural language processing. Information used to analyse natural language semantics comes from several sides. We study meaning relation inter text, paragraph and sehtence, and propose a method to determine setence meaning. Basing on them, we implement a news report understanding system. In our system, meaning representation is in semantic network form based on case relation. Depending on meaning relation, a candidate eliminating method to identify case relation is developed. For each nominal chunk (NC), it can play several case roles. These case roles are NC's case candidates in a sentence. Improper case candidates are eliminated and the proper one is choosed as case role in the sentence.

        Evaluation of Bending Capacity of a New Type of Cold-Formed Steel Frame Wall Sheathed by Fiber-Cement Pressure Panels

        This paper presents experimental research and finite element analysis (FEA) on a new type of frame wall that has fiber cement pressure (FCP) panel as sheathing. Some new structural details for the connection and energy conservation are proposed. In order to evaluate the bending capacity of the FCP frame wall, eight specimens with the parameters of stud spacing, connection styles, window opening, and loading sides were tested under uniformly distributed loads. The measurements of each material property were taken before the bending tests. Failure modes, load-deformation curves, and the strain of some key points were all obtained. The results indicate that the designed parameters affected the ultimate bearing capacity and failure mode of the specimens. Moreover, a non-linear FE model was made and verified against the tests. Results of FEA agree well with the experiment in failure modes and load-deformation curves. Therefore, FEA was confirmed as reliable for the prediction of the loading process. Finally, extended parametric analysis of FCP frame wall was conducted.

        Indirect Detection of Rotor Position of Switched Reluctance Motor Based on Flux Linkage Analytic Model

        In this paper, a flux linkage model based on four magnetization curves fitting is proposed for three-phase 12/8 switched reluctance motor (SRM), with the analysis of the basic principle of flux detection method and function analysis method. In the model, the single value function mapping relationship between position angle and flux is established, which can achieve a direct estimation of rotor position. The realization scheme of SRM indirect position detection system is presented. It is proved by simulation and experiment that the proposed scheme is suitable for rotor position detection of SRM, and has high accuracy of position estimation.

        Polar Transmitter with Differential DSM Phase and Digital PWM Envelope

        A low-power low-cost polar transmitter for EDGE is designed in 0.18μm CMOS. A differential delta-sigma modulator (DSM) tunes a three-terminal voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) to perform RF phase modulation, where the VCO tuning curve is digitally pre-compensated for high linearity and the carrier frequency is calibrated by a dual-mode lowpower frequency-locked loop (FLL). A digital intermediate-frequency (IF) pulse-width5 modulator (PWM) drives a complementary power-switch followed by an LC filter to achieve envelope modulation with high efficiency. The proposed transmitter with 9mW power dissipation relaxes the time alignment between the phase and envelope modulations, and achieves an error vector magnitude (EVM) of 4% and phase noise of ?123dBc/Hz at 400kHz offset frequency.

        A Low-Power Low-Complexity Transmitter for FM-UWB Systems

        A frequency modulated ultra-wideband (FM-UWB) transmitter with a high-robust relaxation oscillator for subcarrier generation and a dual-path Ring VCO for RF FM is proposed, featuring low power and low complexity. A prototype 3.65-4.25 GHz FM-UWB transceiver employing the presented transmitter is fabricated in 0.18 μm CMOS for shortrange wireless data transmission. Experimental results show a bit error rate (BER) of 10<SUP>?6</SUP> at a data rate of 12.5 kb/s with a communication distance of 60 cm is achieved and the power dissipation of 4.3 mW for the proposed transmitter is observed from a 1.8 V supply.

        High-Robust Relaxation Oscillator with Frequency Synthesis Feature for FM-UWB Transmitters

        A CMOS relaxation oscillator, with high robustness over process, voltage and temperature (PVT) variations, is designed in 0.18 μm CMOS. The proposed oscillator, consisting of full-differential charge-discharge timing circuit and switchedcapacitor based voltage-to-current conversion, could be expanded to a simple open-loop frequency synthesizer (FS) with output frequency digitally tuned. Experimental results show that the proposed oscillator conducts subcarrier generation for frequency-modulated ultra-wideband (FM-UWB) transmitters with triangular amplitude distortion less than 1%, and achieves frequency deviation less than 8% under PVT and phase noise of ?112 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset frequency. Under oscillation frequency of 10.5 MHz, the presented design has the relative FS error less than 2% for subcarrier generation and the power dissipation of 0.6 mW from a 1.8 V supply.

        As a fresh impact wave of the popular culture, the success and affection to "Korean wave" can not be neglected whatever the neighbour countries like it or not. It is more important that this wave has been beyond the scope of the public culture and developed into a more realistic economy benefit, which contributes to the Korean economy, meanwhile attributes a new world acknowledgement Korea and it"s people and even changes the impression of Korean substantially. "Korean wave" was first occurred in China, from this point; China could be an original basement of this wave. If the passion singing in the Seoul Olympic games in 1988 gave the Chinese people a new image of Korea, a series of Korea TV programs make the Chinese people know that the Korea is a nation full of confidence, moral courage, value emotion and dare to chase what they want. The hot show of Korean TV play brought about culture effects, and gave a lot of new concepts to Chinese audiences and TV program workers. Chinese TV program making industry began to use the "Korean wave", borrow the successful experiences to use it in home-made movies, try to make the program that match the taste of Chinese audiences and fulfill the needs of domestic audiences. They conduct two applicable methods. One is co-operate with Korea TV making company, the other is to follow the lead of the "Korean wave", made domestic "Korea" TV play. Usually it is called youth idol TV play. The writer will analyze the get and lost of the TV play "Beijing, My Love"and "Apartment of Whitecollar". Why does the "Korean wave" have achieved so much success in the Chinese scream culture market? In my opinion, the main reasons are as follows: Firstly, it is partly due to the characteristics of the transform period in Chinese politics, economy, and culture. Secondly, the visual culture of "Korean wave" has its obvious advantages. Thirdly, after reform open, the consciousness of the Chinese young generation variety has played an important role in the spread of the "Korean wave". Fourthly, the "Korean wave" has comparison advantage in contrast with other substitute cultures from Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan etc. Fifthly, with the promotion and participation from the Korea government, Korea play promote circulation in world culture trade. Sixthly, multinational culture capital takes part in, makes use of the "Korean wav e". and obtains enormous market success. In some aspects, the success of Korean visual culture lies in its dialectic attitude of own culture inheritance and development. Korea is not the simple culture receiver in the past any more, but a culture broadcaster at present, which produce considerable influence on neighbour countries. Then China ought to adapt to this new situation and should neither completely accept Korean wave nor treat it as virus. Culture lives in its mobility and its interaction. and a civilization would be more powerful only when it accepts outside stimulations and challenges now and then. Pluralism and mutual beneficial interaction in culture be the only final direction that "Korean wave" went.

        D-RADA16-RGD-Reinforced Nano-Hydroxyapatite/Polyamide 66 Ternary Biomaterial for Bone Formation

        BACKGROUND: Nano-hydroxyapatite/polyamide 66 (nHA/PA66) is a composite used widely in the repair of bone defects. However, this material is insufficient bioactivity. In contrast, D-RADA16-RGD self-assembling peptide (DRADA16- RGD sequence containing all D-amino acids is Ac-RADARADARADARADARGDS-CONH2) shows admirable bioactivity for both cell culture and bone regeneration. Here, we describe the fabrication of a favorable biomaterial material (nHA/PA66/D-RADA16-RGD). METHODS: Proteinase K and circular dichroism spectroscopy were employed to test the stability and secondary structural properties of peptide D-RADA16-RGD respectively. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were used to characterize the surface of these materials. Confocal laser scanning (CLS), cell counting kit-8 tests (CCK-8), alizarin red S staining, cell immunofluorescence analysis and Western blotting were involved in vitro. Also biosafety and bioactivity of them have been evaluated in vivo. RESULTS: Proteinase K and circular dichroism spectroscopy demonstrated that D-RADA16-RGD in nHA/PA66 was able to form stable-sheet secondary structure. SEM and TEM showed that the D-RADA16-RGD material was 7–33 nm in width and 130–600 nm in length, and the interwoven pore size ranged from 40 to 200 nm. CLS suggests that cells in nHA/PA66/ D-RADA16-RGD group were linked to adjacent cells with more actin filaments. CCK-8 analysis showed that nHA/PA66/ D-RADA16-RGD revealed good biocompatibility. The results of Alizarin-red S staining and Western blotting as well as vivo osteogenesis suggest nHA/PA66/D-RADA16-RGD exhibits better bioactivity. CONCLUSION: This study demonstrates that our nHA/PA66/D-RADA16-RGD composite exhibits reasonable mechanical properties, biocompatibility and bioactivity with promotion of bone formation.

      • Association Between Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms in the XRCC1 Gene and Susceptibility to Prostate Cancer in Chinese Men

        Background: Prostate cancer (Pca) is one of the most common complex and polygenic diseases in men. The X-ray repair complementing group 1 gene (XRCC1) is an important candidate in the pathogenesis of Pca. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms in the XRCC1 gene and susceptibility to Pca. Materials and Methods: XRCC1 gene polymorphisms and associations with susceptibility to Pca were investigated in 193 prostate patients and 188 cancer-free Chinese men. Results: The c.910A>G variant in the exon9 of XRCC1 gene could be detected by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) and DNA sequencing methods. Significantly increased susceptibility to prostate cancer was noted in the homozygote comparison (GG versus AA: OR=2.95, 95% CI 1.46-5.42, ${\chi}^2$=12.36, P=0.001), heterozygote comparison (AG versus AA: OR=1.76, 95% CI 1.12-2.51, ${\chi}^2$=4.04, P=0.045), dominant model (GG/AG versus AA: OR=1.93, 95% CI 1.19-2.97, ${\chi}^2$=9.12, P=0.003), recessive model (GG versus AG+AA: OR=2.17, 95% CI 1.33-4.06, ${\chi}^2$=8.86, P=0.003) and with allele contrast (G versus A: OR=1.89, 95% CI 1.56-2.42, ${\chi}^2$=14.67, P<0.000). Conclusions: These findings suggest that the c.910A>G polymorphism of the XRCC1 gene is associated with susceptibility to Pca in Chinese men, the G-allele conferring higher risk.
