        Different QoS Constraint Virtual SDN Embedding under Multiple Controllers

        Software-defined networking (SDN) has emerged as a promising technology for network programmability and experiments. In this work, we focus on virtual network embedding in multiple controllers SDN network. In SDN virtualization environment, virtual SDN networks (vSDNs) operate on the shared substrate network and managed by their each controller, the placement and load of controllers affect vSDN embedding process. We consider controller placement, vSDN embedding, controller adjustment as a joint problem, together considering different quality of service (QoS) requirement for users, formulate the problem into mathematical models to minimize the average time delay of control paths, the load imbalance degree of controllers and embedding cost. We propose a heuristic method which places controllers and partitions control domains according to substrate SDN network, embeds different QoS constraint vSDN requests by corresponding algorithms, and migrates switches between control domains to realize load balance of controllers. The simulation results show that the proposed method can satisfy different QoS requirement of tenants, keep load balance between controllers, and work well in the acceptance ratio and revenue to cost ratio for vSDN embedding.

        In Situ Fabrication of TiO2/Bi3.64Mo0.36O6.55 Nanocomposite with High Visible-Light-Driven Photocatalytic Efficiency

        In this work, we developed a simple hydrothermal method toward the fabrication of TiO2/ Bi3.64Mo0.36O6.55 heterostructure, which had superior photocatalytic performance for degrading of RhB under visible light irradiation. The as-prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) and photoelectrochemical measurements. The optimal composite with 15 wt.% TiO2/Bi3.64Mo0.36O6.55 (TBMO3) exhibits a much higher photocatalytic activity than that of Bi3.64Mo0.36O6.55 and P25 by degradation of RhB under visible light irradiation within 20 min. The enhanced performance of TBMO3 is predominantly attributed to the synergistic effect both in the higher surface area and the improved separation of photogenerated charge carriers between the two semiconductors. Recycling experiments indicated that TiO2/Bi3.64Mo0.36O6.55 photocatalysts had excellent cycle performance and stability. The photocatalytic mechanism of nanocomposite photocatalysts was proposed, which is confirmed by the active species trapping experiments and photoluminescence tests.

        An Evaluation Framework for the Public Information Guidance System

        The public information guidance system is of considerable significance to the proper operation of regional public facilities. Despite relevant standards and studies, limited evaluation frameworks are currently available that focus on an analytical multidimensional approach to assess the system performance. This paper aims to propose such an evaluation framework to facilitate the design and improvement of the public information guidance system. Sixteen evaluation factors are selected, quantified and normalized, based on which a hierarchical structure is proposed and a composite evaluation index is developed as the representative of the system performance. The public information guidance system in the Suzhou zoo is taken to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed approach.

        Liquid entrainment through a large-scale inclined branch pipe on a horizontal main pipe

        T-junction structures play an important role in nuclear power plant systems. Research on liquid entrainment is mostly based on small-scale branch pipes (d/D ≤ 0.2) and attention paid to large-scale branch pipes (0.33 < d/D < 1) is insufficient. Accordingly, this study implements a series of experiments on the liquid entrainment of T-junction with different angles (32.2°,47.9°,62.3°,90°) through a large-scale branch (d/D = 0.675). The onset liquid entrainment is related to the gas phase Froude number Fr<sub>g</sub>, the dimensionless gas chamber height h<sub>b</sub>/d and the branch pipe angle 𝜃. As Fr<sub>g</sub> increases, h<sub>b</sub>/d also rises. With a constant h<sub>b</sub>/d, the onset liquid entrainment changes from droplets entrainment by the gas phase to that by the rising liquid film. The steady-state liquid entrainment is related to w<sub>3g</sub>, h/d and 𝜃. With constant w<sub>3g</sub> and h/d, the branch quality grows as the branch angle increases. With a certain h/d, the branch quality increases, as the w<sub>3g</sub> number increases.

      • Copper Can Still Be Epitaxially Deposited on Palladium Nanocrystals To Generate Core–Shell Nanocubes Despite Their Large Lattice Mismatch

        <P>Here we report the synthesis of Pd@Cu core–shell nanocubes <I>via</I> epitaxial growth, where the lattice mismatch is 7.1%. The synthesis involved the use of Pd seeds with different shapes (including cubes, cuboctahedra, and octahedra) for the epitaxial growth of Cu shells. Different from the conventional growth mode, Cu atoms initially nucleated only on a few of the many faces of a Pd seed, onto which more Cu atoms were continuously added to generate Cu blocks. Later, the Cu atoms also started to nucleate and grow on other faces of the Pd seed until the entire surface of the seed was covered by a Cu shell. As a result, the Pd seed was rarely located in the center of each core–shell structure. The final product took a cubic shape enclosed by {100} facets regardless of the type of Pd seeds used because of the selective capping of Cu(100) surface by hexadecylamine.         Construction of Strontium Titanate/Binary Metal Sulfide Heterojunction Photocatalysts for Enhanced Visible-Light-Driven Photocatalytic Activity

        A novel strontium titanate/binary metal sulfide (SrTiO3/SnCoS4) heterostructure was synthesized by a simple two-step hydrothermal method. The visible-light-driven photocatalytic performance of SrTiO3/SnCoS4 composites was evaluated in the degradation of methyl orange (MO) under visible light irradiation. The photocatalytic performance of SrTiO3/SnCoS4-5% is much higher than that of pure SrTiO3, SnCoS4, SrTiO3/SnS2 and SrTiO3/CoS2. The SrTiO3/SnCoS4 composite material with 5 wt.% of SnCoS4 showed the highest photocatalytic efficiency for MO degradation, and the degradation rate could reach 95% after 140 min irradiation time. The enhanced photocatalytic activity was ascribed to not only the improvement of visible light absorption efficiency, but also the construction of a heterostructure which make it possible to effectively separate photoexcited electrons and holes in the two-phase interface.
