Synthesis and spectroscopic properties of Eu2+-activated Ba2Zn7F18 phosphors

        Yu, Ruijin,Gao, Zhiwen,Deng, Huajuan,Jeong, Jung Hyun North-Holland 2017 Journal of luminescence Vol.192 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A new fluoride phosphor of Eu2+-activated Ba2Zn7F18 has been prepared via two-step solid-phase synthesis. Pure crystalline formation was verified by the X-ray diffraction (XRD) Rietveld refinement. The photoluminescence (PL) spectrum, decay curves (lifetimes), time-resolved emission, and internal quantum efficiency (QE) of Ba2Zn7F18:Eu2+ were characterized. The phosphors show sensitive response to near-UV excitation and emit blueish green luminescence with a maximum quantum efficiency of 70%. The excitation band can well match with the commercial near-UV LED chips (360–400nm). This is favourable for fabricating white LED lighting devices. The scintillating properties were also confirmed under excitation of X-ray irradiation with a lifetime of 850ns. Eu2+-activated Ba2Zn7F18 has a high thermal stability with activated energy of 0.63eV. It could be potential for high-performance lighting and scintillator due to desirable luminescence properties.</P>

Effect of Glucagon-like Peptide 2 on Tight Junction in Jejunal Epithelium of Weaned Pigs though MAPK Signaling Pathway

        Yu, Changsong,Jia, Gang,Jiang, Yi,Deng, Qiuhong,Chen, Zhengli,Xu, Zhiwen,Chen, Xiaolin,Wang, Kangning Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2014 Animal Bioscience Vol.27 No.5

The glucagon-like peptide 2 (GLP-2) that is expressed in intestine epithelial cells of mammals, is important for intestinal barrier function and regulation of tight junction (TJ) proteins. However, there is little known about the intracellular mechanisms of GLP-2 in the regulation of TJ proteins in piglets' intestinal epithelial cells. The purpose of this study is to test the hypothesis that GLP-2 regulates the expressions of TJ proteins in the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway in piglets' intestinal epithelial cells. The jejunal tissues were cultured in a Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium/high glucose medium containing supplemental 0 to 100 nmol/L GLP-2. At 72 h after the treatment with the appropriate concentrations of GLP-2, the mRNA and protein expressions of zonula occludens-1 (ZO-1), occludin and claudin-1 were increased (p<0.05). U0126, an MAPK kinase inhibitor, prevented the mRNA and protein expressions of ZO-1, occludin, claudin-1 increase induced by GLP-2 (p<0.05). In conclusion, these results indicated that GLP-2 could improve the expression of TJ proteins in weaned pigs' jejunal epithelium, and the underlying mechanism may due to the MAPK signaling pathway.

An Improved SPWM Strategy to Reduce Switching in Cascaded Multilevel Inverters

Dong, Xiucheng,Yu, Xiaomei,Yuan, Zhiwen,Xia, Yankun,Li, Yu The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2016 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.16 No.2

The analysis of the switch status of each unit module of a cascaded multi-level inverter reveals that the working condition of the switch of a chopper arm causes unnecessary switching under the conventional unipolar sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM). With an increase in the number of cascaded multilevel inverters, the superposition of unnecessary switching gradually occurs. In this work, we propose an improved SPWM strategy to reduce switching in cascaded multilevel inverters. Specifically, we analyze the switch state of the switch tube of a chopper arm of an H-bridge unit. The redundant switch is then removed, thereby reducing the switching frequency. Unlike the conventional unipolar SPWM technique, the improved SPWM method greatly reduces switching without altering the output quality of inverters. The conventional unipolar SPWM technique and the proposed method are applied to a five-level inverter. Simulation results show the superiority of the proposed strategy. Finally, a prototype is built in the laboratory. Experimental results verify the correctness of the proposed modulation strategy.

        Deng, Huajuan,Gao, Zhiwen,Xue, Na,Jeong, Jung Hyun,Yu, Ruijin North-Holland 2017 Journal of luminescence Vol.192 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A series of novel garnet-type tellurate red-emitting phosphors Li3Gd3(1-<I>x</I>)Te2O12:<I>x</I>Eu3+ (<I>x</I> = 0.01–0.30) were successfully synthesized by a high-temperature solid-state reaction method. The phase structure, photoluminescence properties and thermal stability of the phosphor were investigated in detail. The phosphor shows dominant emission peak at 613nm belonging to the 5D0→7F2 electric dipole transition under 396nm excitation. The luminescence intensity keeps increasing with increasing the content of Eu3+ to 15mol%, and the critical transfer distance of Eu3+ was calculated to be 14Å. The quenching temperature for Li3Gd3Te2O12:0.15Eu3+ was estimated to be above 500K. This spectral feature reveals high color purity and excellent chromaticity coordinate characteristics. Therefore, Eu3+-doped Li3Gd3Te2O12 phosphors are potential red phosphors for near-UV chip-based white light-emitting diode and display devices.</P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>The novel garnet-type tellurate red-emitting phosphor Li3Gd3(1-<I>x</I>)Te2O12:<I>x</I>Eu3+ (<I>x</I> = 0.01–0.30) was synthesized by solid state reaction.</P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

        He, Jianyue,Gao, Zhiwen,Liu, Shihua,Jeong, Jung Hyun,Yu, Ruijin,Deng, Bin Elsevier 2018 Journal of luminescence Vol.202 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A series of novel Eu3+-doped LiSrBiTeO6 red-emitting phosphors were prepared by the solid-state reaction method for the first time. Its crystal structure and luminescence properties are investigated. X-ray powder diffraction patterns in combination with the Rietveld method reveal its single phase structure. The phosphor can be efficiently excited by 394 nm and 465 nm light and emits bright red luminescence at 616 nm corresponding to the electric dipole transition 5D0–7F2. The optimal doping concentration of LiSrBi1-<I>x</I> TeO6:<I>x</I>Eu3+ is about 40 mol%. The thermal stability of the phosphor was tested by measuring their temperature-dependent emission intensities. The warm white light LEDs was fabricated based on the InGaN-chip. Coronal Three-Dimensional Magnetic Resonance Imaging for Improving Diagnostic Accuracy for Posterior Ligamentous Complex Disruption In a Goat Spine Injury Model

        Xuee Zhu,Jichen Wang,Dan Zhou,Chong Feng,Zhiwen Dong,Hanxiao Yu 대한영상의학회 2019 Korean Journal of Radiology Vol.20 No.4

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate whether three-dimensional (3D) magnetic resonance imaging could improve diagnostic accuracy for suspected posterior ligamentous complex (PLC) disruption. Materials and Methods: We used 20 freshly harvested goat spine samples with 60 segments and intact surrounding soft tissue. The animals were aged 1–1.5 years and consisted of 8 males and 12 females, which were sexually mature but had not reached adult weights. We created a paraspinal contusion model by percutaneously injecting 10 mL saline into each side of the interspinous ligament (ISL). All segments underwent T2-weighted sagittal and coronal short inversion time inversion recovery (STIR) scans as well as coronal and sagittal 3D proton density-weighted spectrally selective inversion recovery (3D-PDW-SPIR) scans acquired at 1.5T. Following scanning, some ISLs were cut and then the segments were rescanned using the same magnetic resonance (MR) techniques. Two radiologists independently assessed the MR images, and the reliability of ISL tear interpretation was assessed using the kappa coefficient. The chi-square test was used to compare the diagnostic accuracy of images obtained using the different MR techniques. Results: The interobserver reliability for detecting ISL disruption was high for all imaging techniques (0.776–0.949). The sensitivity, specificity, and diagnostic accuracy of the coronal 3D-PDW-SPIR technique for detecting ISL tears were 100, 96.9, and 97.9%, respectively, which were significantly higher than those of the sagittal STIR (p = 0.000), coronal STIR (p = 0.000), and sagittal 3D-PDW-SPIR (p = 0.001) techniques. Conclusion: Compared to other MR methods, coronal 3D-PDW-SPIR provides a more accurate diagnosis of ISL disruption. Adding coronal 3D-PDW-SPIR to a routine MR protocol may help to identify PLC disruptions in cases with nearby contusion.
