      • CDF-based Scheduling for Downlink NOMA

        With the rapid development of 5G systems, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) system has been considerably discussed in the literature. As well, the combination of traditional transmission technologies and NOMA will also bring performance improvements. In this paper, for downlink multi-user communications, we apply the cumulative distribution function (CDF) based scheduling along with NOMA to improve the system performance. In particular, a novel power allocation scheme is proposed for NOMA that allows two users to receive data simultaneously. Through simulations, wee show that the proposed scheme can achieve higher throughput than the conventional CDF-based scheduling.

        The effect of ancient Chinese philosophy on Chinese clothing culture

        Ancient Chinese philosophy has had a profound influence on Chinese clothing culture. The researchers reviewed five ancient Chinese philosophical thoughts on Chinese clothing culture. The results show that they had different view of point. The Confucianism advocated "being elegant and refined in manner". Dong Zhongshu believed "Interaction between heaven and mankind is the center of Dress rules". Mohist insisted "Clothing should meet warm first, and then seek for beauty ". Taoism believed "Although a gentleman wears coarse clothes, he has gem in his chest". Legalism believed "Clothing should focus on quality rather than decoration". These philosophy thoughts all have had a profound influence on Chinese clothing culture.

        Machine Learning Complex Interactions Among Recovery, Precipitation, and Recrystallization for Nb Micro-Alloyed Steels

        Static softening behaviors that mainly includes recovery and recrystallization play the important role in controlling themicrostructure and mechanical properties of micro-alloyed steels during hot rolling, which is the essence for optimizing thecontrolled rolling processes. Chemical compositions and deformation conditions are the key factors to the static softeningbehaviors, but their quantitative influences are not clear due to the complex interactions among softening, precipitation, andhot deformation. In the present work, an integrated machine learning (ML) system for the static softening behaviors underdifferent chemical compositions and deformation conditions is established, based on ML modeling of strain-induced precipitationand the data collected from the published literatures. The particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm was usedto determine the recovery and recrystallization model parameters for different niobium (Nb) micro-alloyed steels. Supportvector machine (SVM) was used to establish the relationships between these parameters and compositions and processingparameters. By using the integrated ML system, the effects of compositions and deformation conditions on the static softeningcritical temperature (SSCT), static softening behavior were predicted. The predictions were compared with the measuredvalues, indicating that the ML system can accurately predict static softening behaviors for different steel grades under differentprocessing conditions, which lays a foundation for the accurate design of controlled rolling processes.

        CXCL-13 Regulates Resistance to 5-Fluorouracil in Colorectal Cancer

        Purpose 5-Fluorouracil (5-Fu) is used as a conventional chemotherapy drug in chemotherapy for patients with advanced colorectal cancer, but many patients still suffer from treatment failure due to 5-Fu resistance. Emerging observations revealed the important role of chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 13 (CXCL-13) in tumor microenvironment and its relationship with prognosis in patients with colorectal cancer. This study is designed to reveal the important role of CXCL-13 in causing colorectal cancer resistance to 5-Fu. Materials and Methods CXCL-13 levels of patient's serum or cell culture supernatants were measured separately by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. In cell assays, cell viability is detected by Cell Counting Kit-8. Therefore, the recombinant human CXCL-13 was used to simulate its high expression in cells while its antibody and siRNA were used to reduce CXCL-13 expression in cells. Results In this study, we demonstrated that CXCL-13 is associated with 5-Fu resistance by culture medium exchange experiments and cytokine arrays of colorectal cancer resistant and nonresistant cells. Clinical studies showed that CXCL-13 is highly expressed in the serum of 5-Fu–resistant patients. High levels of serum CXCL-13 also predict a worse clinical outcome. The addition of recombinant CXCL-13 cytokine resulted in 5-Fu resistance, while its antibody overcame 5-Fu resistance, and knockdown of CXCL-13 expression by siRNA also reduced 5-Fu resistance, which can be saved by added recombination CXCL-13. Conclusion These results not only identify a CXCL-13 mediated 5-Fu resistance mechanism but also provide a novel target for 5-Fu–resistant colorectal cancer in prevention and treatment strategies.
